  1. Two blown leads in two nights. Almost blew the third.
  2. Fitting right in to the Buffalo sports vibe. They were a strike from winning today, and had 2 outs no one on in the 9th <gag>
  3. Swami Mike Francesca. New York Post: Mike Francesa whiffs on Jamal Adams take during final WFAN show. https://nypost.com/2020/07/26/mike-francesa-whiffs-on-jamal-adams-take-during-final-wfan-show/
  4. Can't see how it involves us.
  5. I would allow this. A Bradham addition would be analogous to a player like Leonard Smith back in the Super Bowl era. A pain bringer.
  6. They don't allow border crossings without a 14-day quarantine. Hard to do that when you are playing almost every day. Toronto and Ontario gave the thumbs up but Ottawa said no. NHL teams will be in a "bubble." 12 in Toronto, 12 in Edmonton. Stay till you're done.
  7. There are too many MACs! Sorry.
  8. Again, XFL ratings made the top 10 of TV games in each week. There are 26 parties vying to buy it from bankruptcy, so a bunch of people think it's worth it.
  9. I think UB is done. The MAC just called off spring sports. I assume that includes football.
  10. "Our Jays" are 1-0! Of course it felt like they were gonna blow it. Hey, they're a Buffalo team already!
  11. So let's assume they allow cardboard cutout fans in the stands. Who would have the honor to sit behind home plate? Jimmy Griffin? Tim Russert? Anyone else?
  12. It's a major league size field. The locker rooms and clubhouse is smaller.
  13. They could do that...and they did...and they came up with bupkis. One would think a MLB team wouldn't put all their chips on one square like they did. Sure, look for better, but don't get caught with your pants down. Turns out the'll be playing at the Big Hot Dog anyway. Hope the players aren't so bummed that they can't focus on the games.
  14. It didn't fail for lack of money. It failed the same way every sport "failed" this year. Covid-19. The reason McMahon filed for bankruptcy was to get out of paying people he owed during the shut down. FYI XFL games were in the top 10 of sports TV ratings each week, beating NHL, college and some NBA games.
  15. Ditto. I'm all paid up so I'm going to let it roll and hope there's a chance to see one game live.
  16. Nah, that would not go over too well. You have a team that's been spinning its wheels for 9 seasons. Pulling a stunt like that would anger most Sabres fans.
  17. Well how many major league ballparks are sitting around unused? The idea of sharing a park was quite the long shot as well. Fenway Park doesn't have a massive clubhouse, so they built makeshift lockers in the concourses of the stadium. Could that not have been done at Sahlens Field? Could LED lights been installed in the past few weeks? Could bullpens have been moved to outside the outfield wall? I find it a little hard to accept that a park that is acceptable for Triple-A ball is that far from usable for MLB. I suspect it's more the players not wanting to be in a lesser facility, not that it can't be played in.
  18. I'm not sure why I'm taking this so personally. It just feels like they are stringing Buffalo along. You have to admit this is a major clusterbunch for the Jays. It feels like they were caught flat-footed by the Canadian government's decision.
  19. You have a special situation here with the pandemic. Everything is less than ideal. You only play a 60-game season, only half at home. You'd think a team could suck it up for two months and deal with a cramped clubhouse. Don't forget they have the entire facility to spread out into. Lighting could have been upgraded by now. The Jays had 6 weeks to work things out. If they had committed to Buffalo most of their grievances could have been addressed. Instead they strung us along like a prom date hoping to do better. Frankly it's hilarious watching them embarras themselves, announcing the deal with Pittsburgh only to have the door slammed in their faces. I hope they enjoy that 60- game road trip. That's going to be sooooo much better than playing home games in Buffalo.
  20. Well I feel better knowing this. Don't you?
  21. Are the Bucs playing the Raiders this year?
  22. Makes you wonder how focused the Jays are on the season if their players are whining about how nice their temporary home is.
