  1. They aren't in debt, unless they were borrowing against their teams. Besides who in their right minds would buy a sports team in the middle of a pandemic...in Buffalo? (Unless the plan is to move.)
  2. The Pegulas aren't the only owners in trouble. Many owners borrow against the value of their teams because up till now it was guaranteed to increase in value 5-10% annually. The Houston Rockets owner just borrowed $300MM using the team as collateral. But banks are getting tight sphincters for lending these days. So expect many more stories of teams "getting lean."
  3. This is a great story and really paints a possible bleak future for sports in general. Sorry for the F-bomb in the tweet.
  4. Glad Josh was proactive and got his workout in before they closed the barn doors.
  5. The trade to get Cornelius Bennett wasn't bad either.
  6. That's a shame because UB was set to have a great year. They were scheduled to play at Ohio State.
  7. Look at any of my posts.
  8. What's hilarious is the new conspiracies contradict the old ones. I know 2 people that died from it. One spent 9 days on a respirator before succumbing. He was 70 but active and healthy before he got it.
  9. Brady and Gronk? ESPN.com: Sources - At least 2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers players test positive for coronavirus. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/29339367/sources-least-2-tampa-bay-buccaneers-players-test-positive-coronavirus
  10. That only works if you live alone on a remote compound. It falls apart if you have to go shopping for food, etc. Because while you might take all the appropriate precautions, the guy next to you was at big party at some bar with hundreds of people...and he doesn't believe in wearing a mask.
  11. I live in NH. Everyone goes to Winnipesaukee but there are other really nice lakes that are less known. Sunapee is so clean you can drink it. Ossipee Lake is nice. There are smaller lakes like Squam, Newfound, Spofford, Suncook, Merrymeeting or Bow Lake that are terrific as well.
  12. NC Covid cases are climbing. But I'm going to assume my little beach paradise is still relatively safe.
  13. Well that's your opinion. Mine, I want to hang on to these franchises because no one will replace them ever.
  14. Nope. Not happening. You realize it's not just the people who die but the people who end up in the ICU. They can really overwhelm the health care system. Then where do people with broken legs and heart attacks go? But the simple act of wearing a mask reduces your chance of infecting someone by 80%. We could control much of the spread of Covid-19 if everyone wore make and washed their hands. But, you know...that ain't happening.
  15. There would have to be chaos for the NFL to cancel. But I do think we are heading for fan-less games. I wonder if the Bills could play in their field house? Try out the dome experience?
  16. If I asked you in 2014 after Ralph passed if you'd take a new Bills owner that would make some bad decisions but would absolutely keep the team here, would you have taken it?
  17. Has he? I think he's been more right than the people wanting to open everything up.
  18. I thought Buffalo would be an excellent NHL hub. They have 3 NHL rinks all in one location. All with the necessary wiring for media, hotels and foodservice, plus world-class medical facilities just up Main St. But I've not heard Buffalo mentioned as a potential site. I'm going to say this just so you know where I stand. Saving the Bills gives the Pegulas a lifetime pass in my book. The Bills were as good as gone if not for them. I like the Sabres but I love the Bills, and they're still here. Better yet, they're good again. So they can royally eff-up the Sabres and I will still stand by them for the Bills. That's just my opinion.
  19. Just don't show up to camp in an OANN t-shirt.
  20. Maybe not, but would you bet the Sabres on that? Harder to happen right now with two NHL territories to deal with (Leafs/Sabres,) but what if the Sabres went to Hamilton or Kitchener or London? Different story. Don't forget Jim Balsillie of RIM/Blackberry wanted the Sabres real bad.
  21. Unlike the NFL, the NHL values the Sabres in Buffalo. That said, there are interests that want a second NHL team in the Toronto area. Don't give then an opening.
  22. I remember pedaling my banana bike (I was14) from my Broadway Market/St. Stan's neighborhood down to OP to see that new stadium for myself right before opening day. Our family couldn't afford such a frivolity like football tickets then so it was quite a while before I saw a game inside. Fun fact: The Bills were the only the second NFL team to sell naming rights to a stadium. (Rich Foods) The Patriots were the first two years earlier with Schaeffer (beer) Stadium.
  23. Unless he's just a detail guy for Krueger who will start making the personnel decisions?
