  1. I honestly believe coming up on the short end has become ingrained into this football team, over the past ten years when it's gut check time they rarely come through. Back in the 90's when the Bills dominated the AFC if it was close that team EXPECTED to get it done and as a fan I was surprised when they didn't. After the last ten years I'm surprised when they do, as good as the Bills defense is last year they still couldn't get off the field when faced with a big 3rd down situation. This team has to learn to win the smaller battles within the game in order to start changing that mind set. When this team starts stopping people on 3rd down, picking up 2 crucial yards when they need it, even 3rd and long how many times have you seen this team get somebody in a 3rd an 18 type situation and give up 20 yards, I've grown to expect them to lose those battles, I can't believe it's not in their heads also, when they start winning those battles I think you'll see these guys start winning close games.
  2. I like Hoyer he learned from Brady, has a very strong work ethic which he learned from Brady. In the limited time he played last year he appeared decisive didn't hold onto the ball to long knew where he was going with it, that's a trait we haven't seen in a QB around here in a long time. To me it seemed like last year he was really catching on, if Buffalo has the opportunity they should grab him, I would take him over any of our backups.
  3. Give EJ a chance, the guy has very strong work ethic, has a lot of talent, and his team, guys that are in the NFL seem to all support him. Seriously you would rather have Manziel, anyone see him talking into his money phone this week, or floating around drunk on the inflatable swan. I'll stick with the guy that spent the offseason working his a-- off with the intention of living up to the high expectations the Bills put on him. The three best QBs in the league Brady, Manning and Brees all have one thing in common Work Ethic, EJ has it too give the guy a chance....
  4. I could care less if they put a team in London, as long is it's not the Buffalo Bills.... Toronto is a different altogether from the NFL owners perspective (greed) moving the Bills to Toronto makes perfect sense. Ralph Wilson, God Bless Him, spent several years arguing with the big market teams (Jerry Jones and others) that Buffalo couldn't be competitive without revenue sharing. It comes as no surprise to me when you hear some of the big market owners (Jerry Jones and others) publicly support Jon Bon Jovi as a prospective NFL owner. IMO they still harbor resentment toward Buffalo over that issue, and it very realistically threatens our franchise today. In any other circumstance I seriously doubt Jerry Jones and others would publicly support JBJ as a wonderful family man and prospective NFL owner. Since we have been equally sharing television revenue the Bills have been profitable, and haven't always spent our salary cap money electing to let some of our best players leave via free agency. That irritates big market owners that share that money with small market teams. If a Toronto group wins the bid for the Buffalo Bills it will require 2 separate ownership votes to move our team don't be surprised if they get them.
  5. Imagine what a nightmare it would be for the London team to play the away schedule, they would probably have to play 3 or 4 straight road games possibly twice a year. There would be a distinct home field advantage, but very difficult to lure free agents or even sign some top draft picks. It would make it very hard to produce a winning team, and how supportive would London be of a team that was consistently put at a competitive disadvantage. IMHO a team would ultimately fail there.
  6. So many people on here have not given EJ a chance, coming into the league scouts reported has all the physical attributes, diamond in the rough, could be molded into a star in the NFL. Not once have I heard anything but how tirelessly he studies and works on his craft. He won 4 bowl games in college, why should anybody be surprised if he comes out and plays at a very high level this year. If he does the current Bills roster is the best we've had in a very long time, and New England isn't nearly as strong as they have been in the past, if ever there was a year we could go from worst to first this is it. I'm drinking the Kool Aide......
  7. It kills me that Ralph Wilson bailed the Patriots out with money so they wouldn't fold years ago, and Robert Kraft seems to consistently make backhanded comments that could be construed as lobbying to relocate the Buffalo Bills, knowing full well it's not what the late owner Ralph Wilson wanted to happen. Guys like Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft are so blatantly greedy it's sickening!!!
  8. I signed the contract then I BLEW UP!!!!!!!!
  9. I had spent the last 7 years out of the Buffalo area 4 years in Alaska going into the 88 season wasn't exposed to the negativity, I judged them on their roster and based on the fact they seemed to be turning it around in 87.
  10. Going into the 88 season I fully expected the Bills to make the playoffs, the Bennett trade was huge and you could see everything was coming together. Going into the 2014 season you can see a much improved roster the best we've had here in years. Offensively were much improved at running back, wide receiver and offensive line. Defensively Yeah losing Kiko sucks, but we are still much improved at linebacker which was the weak link in 2013 run defense should be far better this year. We have one of the best defensive lines in the league, and even with the loss of Byrd our secondary is going to be very capable. Special teams is a question mark IMO we should have replaced Crossman, but we have upgraded ST thru free agency and the draft hopefully we see improvement there. A lot is riding on EJ if he steps up his game and stays healthy this team could get into the post season this year. Looking forward to 2015 getting Kiko back will be like getting the first round pick we don't have. I hardly see a crumbling foundation IMO I see the exact opposite. I would be willing to bet if Bill Belichik had the opportunity to trade rosters and keep his QB he would do it in a NY minute. There is reason to be optimistic folks the state of the Buffalo Bills is good, the best it has been in a long time!!!!!
  11. Marcell Dareus the man has no heart, hasn't lived up to being a number 3 overall pick, and doesn't seem to care. My guess we'll get 1 really big year out of him in 2015 before he bolts in free agency, the unlucky team that signs him will probably release him within 2 years. If Marcell had half the heart Fred Jackson possesses he could be one of the all time greats. Players we could have taken, AJ Green, Patrick Peterson, Julio Jones, JJ Watt players with heart. Between 2002 and 2011 we had 2 top 5 picks Mike Williams and Marcell neither possess the desire to be great. I believe Sammy is going to be different.
  12. I started following the Bills in the 70s back then I was a big Tony Greene fan you never here about the guy anymore but if my memory serves me well he had a four year stretch where he had around 30 interceptions, not certain but probably the best 4 year stretch in team history he would be my choice.
  13. Late in his career Steve Tasker did actually start at WR for the Bills, IMHO he was pretty damn good at it too. I thought he proved what Jim Kelly had said about him all along he was hard to cover, although late in his career physically he didn't hold up well, you could see he would have been a pretty effective slot receiver had that been the path his career had taken.
  14. Anyone remember "Buffalo home of the Braves" broke my heart when they left.
  15. Kelly, Molds, Juice, Ritcher, Bruuuce,Takeo, Odomes, sorry Andre hated not putting you on this list, but there was no way I could take Henry over OJ regardless what happened later in OJ's life the man was the best player we ever had......
  16. I thought Hoyer looked pretty damn good, he seemed to be making good decisions was getting the ball out quick I would take him here n Buffalo in a heartbeat. Spent the last 15 years watching indecisive QBs hold onto the ball to long, I think Hoyers the real deal!!! I grew up watching the Bills lose 20 straight to Miami beating them twice means a lot to me.....
  17. Hoyer will beat him out, but the front office burned a pick on Johnny and there is going to be a lot of pressure on Pettine to play him from the front office the fans and the media unenviable position for a rookie coach I bet he wishes he stayed right here at this point.
  18. I truly hope that EJ works out and holds down the job for the next ten years, but if he doesn't I wouldn't be surprised to see Brian Hoyer end up in Buffalo. I think with Pettine in Cleveland we have a line of communication there when Manziel eventually takes over as the starter they will move Hoyer. Prior to getting knocked out by Kiki Alonzo I thought he looked pretty good he was making good decisions getting the ball out quickly, I think the Browns reached on Johnny Football when they had already found the answer to their QB question. Hoyer is going to land somewhere and Buffalo very likely could be the spot.
  19. Spent the last 4 years in S Florida, seen him play a lot and I believe the Dolphins have a franchise QB with Tannehill, were gonna hate this guy for the next ten years.
  20. I agree 100% 2014 and beyond Andrew Luck gives you the best chance at long term success and probably would bring the long awaited SB championship we all desire. Honorable mention Aaron Rodgers was my first thought, but Andrew Luck IMO is the smart choice long term.
  21. I don't see a single game on the schedule that is an absolute lock!!! This could be a long year....
  22. Good stuff Whitewalker, thanks for taking the time....
  23. Good question Ralph Wilson did spend a handfull of years hellbent on proving a small market team couldn't be competitive in this league while he pushed for revenue sharing, and the product on the field reflected that, which I believe has contributed heavily to the 14 year playoff drought.
  24. They should lock him up now before he has that break out year that makes him unaffordable. With Mario Williams contract it will be hard to commit another big contract to the defensive line. After being benched for tardiness the Bills are probably in the best position they ever will be in to sign him to a long term deal, they should do it right now.
