  1. I think they go hand in glove
  2. I'd take Watkins back but I have a feeling McDermott isn't too high on him.
  3. I would definitely do it but I still would rather have Darnold than Rosen
  4. Never last that long!
  5. Giving the Bills a "favorable deal" implies that Colts would get less in return than they could have on the open market. That is the title of this thread.
  6. My bad, you'd think that since I have watched every single Bills game since 1983 I'd remember that game. Who on the Bills do you think Reich considers a friend or do you think he would take a lesser deal with Buffalo just because he wore the uniform. Personal relationships are not the same as fondly remembering your time in an organization.
  7. True and I'm sure he'd risk his long awaited opportunity as a head coach to help out Colt and the Bills!
  8. Don't get me started on the Wilponzies...
  9. That's true I hadn't considered that, he worships the Bills and will do anything for them (even though he probably doesn't know a single player or anyone in the front office.
  10. MIght be true but they have six championships, their fans have lots of fun. They seem to have fun when they raise the Lombardi trophy.
  11. Frank is a Colt now, his history with the Buffalo Bills will have no relevance in deciding any trades
  12. So what is your point?
  13. If he was traded to NY in the NFL only one team would fit that description
  14. I largely agree with the improvements you suggest but I don't think a complete rebuilt (which suggests trading marketable assets for draft picks) is required. Add the right QB and the rest can fall in place. Stats don't tell the whole story in the NFL, Woods played a much more prominent role in LA than he ever did in Buffalo.
  15. Me too, I like and respect these guys and it would be great to know.
  16. This is a pretty pessimistic view of the situation Bills do need a QB RB's aren't the most difficult position to fill While I like Woods Ryan Groy did a nice job filling in two years ago. The line needs help but played pretty well later in the season Kyle is beloved but his play wasn't what it was in his prime. The WR's are bad is the same thing we heard the year before but somehome Robert Woods and Marguise Goodwin became stars when they had a solid QB throwing the ball to them. LB need help but that can be found There is some talent under 25 beside White and we have lots of draft picks as of now. (Dion Dawkings, Zay Jones Matt Milano to name a few) No more rebuilding
  17. No, I like McCoy but his time in Buffalo has been way too short and as far as his accomplishments they seems too few to even consider him.
  18. I can absolutely see your point, and it's a good argument its just a difference in philosophy. Similar to the different styles of offense or defense. Both can work its the execution of the strategy that makes the difference. I would still rather pass on the safer bet and focus on getting one of top 5 QB's but I understand your approach
  19. Very nice of McCoy to recognize the Bills fans like that and so heartfelt. It also is a good reminder of how important (fairly or unfairly) a sports franchise is to a city. A winning team that is supported by a loyal fan base can change the public persona of a city so quickly just as a chronically bad team can make a city seem more "depressed" than it really is (Cleveland). This one season has really changed the reputation of Buffalo, you no longer hear it being mentioned as a place you don't want to play.
  20. Yep, but he seems to have changed. A mulligan implies that he is forgiven without changing
  21. It's entirely possible that Cousins could have won a couple of games that Taylor let get away, he is definitely a better QB. It is also possible he could have also lost at least one Taylor won because he did turn over the football more often. I think you mean the second Jets game, the Bills won the first. He is no doubt a better QB than Taylor but I don't think he is good enough to eat up that much cap space. I am in complete agreement with you that it all starts with the QB, get a good one and the rest falls into place. Look at the Colts and Packers without Luck and Rogers. If that type of QB becomes available open up the vault and pay him whatever it takes. I would include Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, David Carr and a few others in that group. Cousins career record as a starter is 26 -30-1, his best season was 9-7. You could certainly make the case that the Redskins have not been great during that period and he'd be much better with a better team around him but that would sound very similar to the people who argue the same about Tyrod. I disagree with you about top 5 versus top 10. A top 10 QB assures that you will have a team that is a serious play-off contender each year, a top 5 QB almost certainly assures that you have a Super Bowl contender each year. As far as once Brady, Ben and Brees retire, Cousins probably is top 10, that assumes Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield or others aren't better. I believe in 3 years he still won't be a top 10 guy.
  22. Wow I hope that information is accurate because I agree with almost 100% of it. I think Darnold is far and away the best QB in the draft, I like Peterman too and hope he is given a shot. I like the idea of signing a vet like McNown and have him compete with Peterman. I like him be he needs to earn the job. Of the group you mentioned I wouldn't mind Mayfield but I wouldn't break the bank to get him. I think they are all risks. I would hate the idea of cutting Cordy Glenn, I could live with a trade.
  23. Yeah that started the change, his wife Jill openly talked about his womanizing in her book and I have heard him speak and he owns up to a lot of his past. I really admire his humility.
  24. I am with you 100% with the need to get a top 5 QB, my point is I don't think that describes what Cousins is or can be. I'd say his top end is 10-15 which is fine but from what I've seen of him play I don't see him as a guy who can take an 8-8 team and make them 11-6 or 12-5. He will take up a huge chunk of the salary cap and you won't have much money left to build around him. This guy could be the top paid QB in the NFL and he's not going to bring that kind of value to your club.
  25. Could be I don't know about that story. He does seem, even by his own admission, a more humble and thoughtful man than he has been in the past. It is interesting I thought the same thing to myself, why even get into this.
