Getting to 5 championships is the argument that analysts on shows make. You’re making the assumption that I agree with that. One of the greatest attribute Brady had was longevity. I don’t think that will ever be surpassed and it’s an achievement that should not be taken lightly imo.
Yes we have discussed this before about qb’s getting judged on championships. It does take a whole team to win one obviously. But if you draw up a pie of responsibility the qb would get a big chunk of that in today’s NFL. That’s why they get paid the way they do. A scenario with Trent Dilfer be a winning sb qb on a team that’s led by a dominant defense isn’t going to happen because of all the rules changes. It’s so tilted in the offense’s favor.
If you don’t want to count SB wins as a qb stat then you’re really just leaving it up to subjective preferences. It’s a team game with team goals. The leader, qb, should be judged on team accomplishments. Same as corporate leaders if a company does or doesn’t do well.
