  1. That's the way I felt. The last two seasons have each had a slow first episode to start things up before the show really kicked into high gear.
  2. "Feel the Curves"
  3. Friends in Texas have seen it. I don't think it's regional.
  4. No, that's not what I said. How many times in one thread are you going to use the "I know you aren't saying this but here's how it sounds..." argument? What's the point of talking to you if you're going to go out of your way to purposely twist the meanings of what everyone is saying to what you think it might maybe, kinda sound like? If America is packed to the gills with racists, why do we enjoy so many performers of different colors and backgrounds? That doesn't make much sense. That is, unless you're relying on information that's 60 years old and - oh wait.... Yeah, wow, I'm sure the United States is exactly the same now as it was in 1946. Before my parents were even born. I just said you can't rely on history as proof that racism is a huge problem now and your rebuttal is that the last mass lynching in this country was just 60 FRICKIN YEARS AGO. Email is the perfect example of how much the world can change in just 10 years or so. Makes you wonder how much different things will be in 2016. Makes you understand how little people's attitudes back in 1946 have to do with attitudes right now. BTW, I'm 24.
  5. ...and sack tickling.
  6. Ironically, I think this is a big problem for a lot of black people. I think a lot of black people are brought up to think that they are victims of racism and that they won't be allowed to succeed in America and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Their motivation to stay in school and go to college has to suffer. You tell someone every day of their life that they're worthless and they'll start to believe it. You tell someone every day of their life that everyone else hates them because of their skin and eventually they'll believe that too. The days of lynchings are not ancient history but they might as well be. Turn on the TV and have a look around. Saying racism is this huge problem now because there used to be lynchings not that long ago is like trying to minimize email now just because no one had heard of it just 15 years ago. I'll add another instance where the left and right disagree on race. People on the right seem extra fed up with 'race hustlers' who play the race card to their advantage every time they think it can help them.
  7. Personal experience and common sense. The vast majority of the people I've met in my life are not racist. And I have a hard time believing all the old white business men are emailing each other trying to find ways to keep black people out of the offices in their building. Anyone with a double digit IQ has more important things to worry about while running their company - like turning a profit, for example. Again, what percentage of Americans do you think are racist?
  8. I think the race factor in this country is way overblown. I don't think racists are running around subverting opportunities for non-whites. What percentage of people in this country would you say are racist?
  9. Are you trying to tell me that racism and persecution are the same thing? I think of persecution as systematically trying to hold people down. Racism is someone's own issues with other groups of people and it's definitely not just a "white on black" thing. Racism is going to exist until the end of time. Your fictional VOR Day (ha ha, so funny, send it to Letterman) will never take place. As a whole, however, this country doesn't hold any group down.
  10. I never said they were. Next. Fact is: blacks are not persecuted in America. No one is going out of their way to hold them down. And if they are held to different standards, those standards are usually lower thanks to crap like affirmitive action which helps feed the victim mentality. Immigrants and other ethnic groups are succeeding because they're taking control of their lives rather than whining about how bad things are for them. Not to mention the complete collapse of traditional families in black culture, where most children are born out of wedlock. Then again, I actually live in America....
  11. No disrespect to the Patriots, but let's hurry up and get this thread up to 12 (genuflect) posts so that we can all genuflect in unison.
  12. Please enlighten us as to how blacks are persecuted in the United States.
  13. Agreed. But from watching VY for the last 3 years or so, I'm confident that he handles pressure extremely well and has poise. That may be the most important thing you look for in a QB. We'll see if he has everything else it takes to make it in the NFL.
  14. ? My post had nothing to do with Leinart. But, yeah, any star Qb for a great college team has a great supporting cast so you can't just look at their numbers and imagine that they'd do that at the pro level. So you have to look at how they actually play the game and imagine how they would do without a team of superstarts (at their level) around them.
  15. That's how I felt about VY after last year's Rose Bowl (which he also dominated and nearly won by himself). I don't know if VY will be a great NFL quarterback but he's definitely at his best in the most important games (the last two Rose Bowls and the Ohio State-Texas game this year). The ability to be your best in the pressure situations might be the most important thing to look for in any QB. VY has that going for him, at least.
  16. Of course not. It wasn't his.
  17. Yeah, and all three would be overpaid because Mike Williams sucks ass.
  18. Bingo. And I'm not too upset that we aren't in a position to draft him. It's going to take a while to adapt his game to the pro level and there's no guarantee he'll ever be able to dominate in the NFL. He gets a ton of credit for what he did in the Rose Bowl but if you look at the game-winning TD, USC sent six guys to blitz him and not one made it within 10 feet of him before he decided to run it in. He had a great team around him in Texas.
  19. LOL Hilarious!
  20. Right in time for the NHL playoffs! Even if the guys at WGR go overboard from time to time, this is still great news. It'll be nice to listen to a radio station that's only talking about the teams I care about.
  21. I'm amazed that pictures of the notes have been all over the internet and TV today. Seems a little private/morbid - especially so soon after this thing happened.
  22. Great post. Too bad we couldn't email it to Donahoe about five years ago.
  23. All we know for sure about the future is that we're going to find out that everything that Jerry Sullivan is saying now is going to turn out to be wrong. How do we know? Because that's what always happens.
  24. The Ghost of Pat Robertson will visit us to explain that Pat Robertson's death was actually just God punishing Pat Robertson.
