CB & S: low cost FAs & day 3 picks with scheme fit. LB: drafted Olufoshio this year, he will be the depth. RB: day 3 pick or UDFA with pass pro, speed, and receiving ability to be 3rd on depth chart for a year and backfill Cook leaving as a FA the following year while RayDay takes over #1 duties TE: traits-y upside receiving TE on day 3 OL: give me another day 3 upside pick like Grable anywhere on the OLine all day DL & WR: hammer these with the first & both seconds. 1Tech, DE, separator WR (blazing speed a nice bonus obviously).

Can we talk about Beane and Oline?
MiracleAtRich1393 replied to No_Matter_What's topic in The Stadium Wall
The starters are all very good but the high quality depth is also huge like you point out. OLine is only as strong as the weakest link, don't want to be one injury away from getting easily exploited in Jan/Feb -
Bills Exposed 2023 Eagles and Now, 2024 Chiefs
MiracleAtRich1393 replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall
We played a big part in exposing them too! Handed them their 2nd loss. Huge game in Allen's coming out party season. -
Is the "new" Curtis Samuel here to stay?
MiracleAtRich1393 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Such a great decision to let him walk! -
yes need him healthy for the entire stretch run for sure!
-
I will admit to having been way wrong on him. Absolutely love the guy.
-
Makes me so sad thinking about him not playing against the Chiefs in the playoffs last year. It was the difference between a win & loss. Just like Kelce went off in the SB after Greenlaw had the most fluke achilles injury in history. How do the Chiefs get so lucky year after year???
-
Agreed. The "misses" lately have been high picks in the secondary (Elam, and Bishop so far but obviously TBD). The hits have been Benford (6th), Taron (4th), Douglas (3rd for 5th pick swap so 4th round value), and solid starters/role players Rapp (low cost FA) Hamlin (6th round), Cam Lewis (UDFA), Jamarcus Ingram (UDFA). The Mike Edwards flop doesn't hurt the way Elam/Bishop does since it was another low cost FA you can easily move on from. Stick to the formula and use the premium draft capital for shots at O/DLine and weapons for Josh.
-
Agreed which is why we should leave the secondary to day 3 picks, UDFAs, and cheap vets. It's his specialty, use the premium resources elsewhere. Bit of an arbitrage, let's maximize it!

Yeah Jordan Davis, Keeanu Benton, and T'Vondre Sweat are all guys in recent years I was hoping we could somehow get but didn't fall nearly far enough for us. Also really liked Alim McNeill but he's more of a 3T. Anyone in those molds for this year's draft?
-
A strong 1T seems to be very important to a McD defense and they always seem to be out at the wrong time or just over the hill. When the 1T plays well it unlocks so much else (3T, DEs, LBs). Hope we can find a good long term solution. I loved DaQuan in '22 but he was injured for the Bengals game then he was playing out of his mind in '23 up to London and just hasn't been the same since that injury. Now he appears to have lost it which is unfortunate. Ed and the rest of the pass rush seem to be suffering for it. Anyone know if there are any promising 1Ts in the upcoming draft I should keep an eye on?

Brandon Codrington: Solid Acquisition

Totally respect that view, and the staff/front office clearly agrees with you! -

Haha yes I meant Daequan Hardy not Deonte Harty -
Brandon Codrington: Solid Acquisition
MiracleAtRich1393 replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
I feel like that's the opposite of the guy he replaced (Harty), who flashed better as a DB than returner. All things being equal I'd probably err on the side of DB depth but I get that return gaffes can cost games. Been pleasantly surprised with Coddington's return game as well. Not a flat out burner but generally solid hands and shifty with some tackle breaking ability too. -
That game was a bit fluky IMO. Mostert lowering his helmet into Rapp's head got them +15 yards rather than -15 on a FG drive. Net 30 yards on one play, that's +3 points for MIA. The TD off Coleman's hands to an INT was another +7 points for MIA. The bogus holding call on OCT erased a brilliant Josh TD and we settled for a FG. That's +4 points for MIA. Up 10+ points most of the second half and we're in cruise control mode rather than heart attack scramble mode. Overcoming missing 14 points on (7 ref-inflicted, 7 self-inflicted) to still get the W is not an easy task in the NFL, even against a 2-6 team.

Is this the best team in the Allen era?
MiracleAtRich1393 replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Haven't read through all of this but my vote goes to the 2022 squad fully healthy. Diggs was still elite, Von was drawing tons of attention and still producing, Hyde & Poyer hadn't fallen off, and Milano was a beast. It all fell apart with injury & mental fatigue, so sad -
Most stressful 1 minute 45 seconds
MiracleAtRich1393 replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Was really annoyed when the Bucs didn't do it tonight 😭 I'd seen that movie before, Baker wasn't touching the ball again SMDH -
I was thinking as soon as the Dolphins' D-Coordinator said what he said that Allen was going to come out and play as efficiently & methodically as possible and kill them with a thousand cuts. He looked so locked in it was awesome

Khalil Mack trade - what would it take?
MiracleAtRich1393 replied to MiracleAtRich1393's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have three kids in grade school, I get mocked worse than that every day before breakfast 🤣 I also want the Bills to win a SB so bad and enjoy thinking outside the bun. Glad you liked the thread! -
Khalil Mack trade - what would it take?
MiracleAtRich1393 replied to MiracleAtRich1393's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was a complete beast on those Bears teams that almost made a run with Mitch Trubisky at QB 🤣 And the age thing obviously but that's mitigated by a contract as short and small as Cooper's so not quite the commitment like Von -
Khalil Mack trade - what would it take?
MiracleAtRich1393 replied to MiracleAtRich1393's topic in The Stadium Wall
Okay I get that he's past his prime obviously but 105 career sacks, 3 time first team all-pro, 1 DPOY, another 2nd in DPOY voting behind only Aaron Donald in 2018, and finishing top 10 in DPOY voting just last year isn't much of an impact? -
Khalil Mack trade - what would it take?
MiracleAtRich1393 replied to MiracleAtRich1393's topic in The Stadium Wall
I appreciate all the responses and laughed at many of them, my question was "what would it take?" not "I would personally do this, is it dumb or not?" Definitely led with an extreme, so I can see how people reacted so negatively. LOLLL Trying to figure out what a clearing level would be that both sides would be amenable to, if at all. My point was I think we'd have to overpay because the Chargers are still in it, but how much of an overpay, and what compensation would be worth it to get a potential game wrecking edge that would also get the Chargers to bite. Some think Mack isn't that anymore (or never was), and I appreciate that view and if that's the case I wouldn't do it for any price. Others see 17 sacks last season (admittedly me) and say damn we could use that to get past KC. If Von can get back to being that type of player for us then great, that's what he's here for. I hope that's how it plays out! But I wouldn't necessarily bet on it. I think a game wrecking DLineman is the last piece to get this roster over the hump and I hope Beane can make a move for someone somehow at a fair price or even a slight overpay before the deadline. I say overpay in a vacuum, but some things are worth more to one side because they're closer to a goal, hence the question "what would it take?" One poster likened Mack at this point to the early season version of Leonard Floyd before he fell off a cliff, which I liked. Maybe the better question would be what's the max you would pay to add that type of skill set/production for the stretch run this season, and would that be enough to get a (hopefully) 4-4 team with a new regime perhaps thinking more long term to bite? -
TNF. Jets Texans. Who do we want to win tonight?
MiracleAtRich1393 replied to Billyhouseman's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah this is where I'm at, plus I'd like to absolutely bury the division with a Jets loss combined with us beating the Dolphins on Sunday. It leaves wiggle room to get into the playoffs if some short term disastrous shorter term injuries lead to a slide.
