Around the NFL - Week 16 (12/22/2024) (*no Bills talk, please!*)

Does anyone know why the refs explain the rules of overtime every single time it starts? You'd hope the teams would know the drill by now. -
Penix officially replaces Kirk Cousins in ATL

You’re absolutely right, of course. Sorry, I’d been drinking whisky. Never pick up the phone when drinking whisky -

of course he is. A year learning from cousins? I think some of you people have no idea about success I notice you are very opinionated. I’d suggest that Lawrence, Williams, Young, and many more have been thrown into the jaws of men like you to chew and chew and chew The pressure of the modern world is almost unimaginable to the mind of the modern fan - these are very young men you take your time with talent. Teach them about the nfl. Teach them about the media. Let them grow up. otherwise big fatty on his sofa is going to be calling you all kinds of bust all over the internet I might be wrong. But penix has been set up nicely. He had a chance to ease himself into the nfl. I like adults that treat the young with gentle hands - Atlanta have class -

It’s prob only me that thinks this, but I love what Atlanta have done Throwing kids straight in is not wise. Let them learn. Let them be in the camp. Grow them. These QBs are long term investments - and in an internet age when every fat, Dorito eating tv expert has an opinion, it’s wise to keep them safe so many great QB talents are being wasted by throwing them into the real, media, internet world without recognising they are still kids stepping into a huge world fair play to Atlanta - protect the investment -
What an excellent and evocative post. Thank you!

We don’t give our head coach much credit. But he has to take some credit for 17’s mentality. Surely he’s given him the perfect environment to flourish and mature
-
Plenty of time
-
I'm a little bit worried that coaches are going to realise the only way to stop him is hurt him. I think Romo alluded to it last night but wouldn't say it out loud.
-
Baltimore really, really worried me. Still does. Though it's not the pass defence. We struggle v elite HBs and have done for a while.
-
Just need to find a way to get that extra three point swing then. Hopefully that is somehow possible. Also won't be in their house.
-
I'd rather win a game conceding 500 pass yards than lose one conceding half that
-
Perhaps not. But we've beaten the Lions and the Chiefs now. So which passing team are you scared of playing?

I don't think anyone is offended by the fact we've got a great QB I think it's more that people are offended by the fact that us having a great QB is used as a stick with which to hit the whole rest of the organisation. It's almost like having a great QB has made some of us even more angry. It's so weird. Because for 20 years watching this team has been SHYTE. Now it's amazing fun.
-
I'm worried about Miller. He's ineffectual. But I don't know if that's a fatal flaw. But surely any defence in the league is going to struggle when it's playing back ups of back ups all across the secondary and backs up at linebacker. I'd accept it more if we were crying with a few more starters in the backfield
-
a lot of talk about sonic and knuckles before the game started. they did ***** all. we stuffed them. so that's like one thing.
-
imagine being this angry after a huge win
-
they were chasing the game, sometimes in a three score game. of course they outscored their usual selves, they are usually home and dry in the 4th
-
i was hoping we'd lose so i could blame the coaches but i suppose i'll have to grudgingly accept the win while giving them no credit at all - even though they are playing backs ups of back ups in the secondary against the league's no1 offence on the road
-
His O-line ain't too shabby. was it no sacks again?
