I was not a fan of this pick. I just get the feeling Beane blew another "never draft for need "pick. Since all the 1st rd. DTs were gone, could he have traded down a few spots , picked up a 3rd and had 3 2nd picks? I think so and then taken one or 2 of the handful of DBs picked later who will likely have Tariq Woolen type of careers. IDK, I just get the feeling this kid's gonna always be hurt.

Hence the need to be creative. My point on sending pressure is just as much about run blitzing....not letting blockers get to the second level. If that happens this year, our 2ndary will get bulldozed. TFLs are gonna need to be there. I'm not looking forward to that 300 lb. FB and Henry on week 1. I wasn't happy with the pick. There will be a handful of Tariq Woolen types out of the mid to late rounds from this draft. Heck Strong may be starting before long. I just don't get these 1st round selections. I'm hoping this kid doesn't spend the year on IR. He just don't look like he is gonna be able to handle the business.

I'm hoping he doesn't need to play such a high snap count. Maybe that will give him a boost in production....effectiveness.

I voted DT. I think with DQ and Ogun out, they finally get a chance at a T. Sweat type of guy to solidify our Dline for years. I think BB is gonna build a good line. Picking 28-30 too low for stud DE or a BTJ, but able to grab up another stud upfront.

I will not complain about BBs draft results. Even the picks that don't make the team are starting elsewhere, so there's that. The one thing that does bother me is saying "fill holes in FA so not to be forced into need"......but he does draft the 1st pick for need.....every year. IMO, the 1st rounder absolutely has to have the talent to start. Period If White starts over Max? .... How many 1st rd. hits has he had? Allen, Kincaid? Oliver had to play. I think overall this year he did a very good job drafting, but as mentioned earlier, look at the guys we could have targeted the last few years as a 1st rd. pick ... ie. BTJ etc.
