I am not about complaining about the WR spot. My beef is the defense. I think Hoecht showed He/ that was/is likely the missing link to getting over the top. I would have liked to have seen a touch more effort put into replacing him.

I don't know if I can swallow this whole story. Were there only 2 guys worth looking at and they just happened to be in our division? In the meantime, the Titans were having a fire sale. Seems like Simmons was the only guy not moved. Claiming all your efforts were to deal with division rivals kinda steams my clams. If Beane came out and said, We just couldn't get it done say for Simmons, it was too much to pay, that'd be a lot more believable. Hoecht should have made it clear to the world, that what we've been lacking is that animal who we can list as an OLB but can be put between the Tackle and Guard. Something we haven't done since Lorax. I personally hope Jackson will turn into that. It hopefully opens McD's eyes to if you want pressure up front, ya gotta have the troops.
