  1. Are your boys "arrogant douches," "a-holes," or "funny little fellas?" Just wondering. I learned more about watches in your short paragraph than I have in many decades of life. Tommy Lasorda also comes to mind. I sense that you're withholding a lot of rage towards the man. Maybe you'd feel better if you sincerely expressed what you think of him? What do you mean by that?
  2. I know you're being sarcastic but I've literally read dozens of posters here state that any offense that isn't built on Josh's arm is a misguided waste of his talents. Personally I believe in an offense that doesn't overburden him... one that uses his superpowers only in good measure. IMO, over-reliance on Josh is not a good thing.
  3. Some celebrities want a doctor who'll prescribe them drugs. Some athletes want a doctor who'll clear them to play. I wouldn't assume Tua wants a doctor who cares about his health.
  4. Taylor Swift is the Sean McDermott of pop stars.
  5. Fixed it for you... how could you let such a golden opportunity pass??? It suddenly occurred to me to ask... what's Bull's middle name?
  6. Exactly. Fans in the Bay Area forgive the drafting of Trey Lance because of the selection of Brock Purdy. If Benford becomes an All-Pro (and he appears to be on that trajectory) I will certainly forgive the selection of Elam. And Elam's ultimate value to the Bills has still not been determined. One of the best Bills drafts ever and it also included Matt Araiza and Baylon Spector. Incidentally I'm loving the 2024 draft too... Beane's drafting has improved IMO. He used to always want to trade up and he's being more patient now because I think he's seen all the players he could have drafted had he simply stood pat.
  7. Dyslexia? You know I have a friend who's incredible at mathematics but sucks at spelling. Yes. The reason Lamar has 2 MVPs is because in both of those MVP seasons (2019 and 2023) the Ravens had the best record in the NFL and the foremost criteria for MVP is the QB of the team with the best record in the league. This has been the case in 4 of the last 5 years. The last year that the QB of the team with the best record didn't win it was when Aaron Rodgers (13-3) won it over Patrick Mahomes (14-2). Incidentally the Bills were also 13-3 that year. Obviously the award is for the MVP of the regular season because as we all know, Lamar has sucked in the postseason while Josh has been mostly excellent.
  8. Burrow's arm doesn't look right. Either does his "blonde" hair.
  9. Jaguars lose at home to the Browns.
  10. In mechanics the use of pressure relief valves is quite common.
  11. You seem to be missing the fact that not all of the doctors are going to have the same interests. You're acting like there will only be one unanimous medical opinion. Minimally there are Tua's doctors, the Dolphins doctors, and the NFL's doctors. It also wouldn't be surprising if the NFLPA hired their own doctors in this case.
  12. I think that depends on who you ask. There was a flood of dread-filled reactions the other night and it was because of what happened in 2022. Many people cared... they were just hiding their heads in the sand... pardon the expression.
  13. Please spare the snarkiness ("right on point"). Matt, watch the video of Tua's 3 concussions and pretend that he's your son and that he's already made $73 million. What would you tell your son? And what's wrong with people having opinions anyways? That's what we do here is opine all day long.
  14. Excellent post but Tua did have a 3rd concussion in 2022... in week 15 vs the Packers. Yes, this is what I wrote upthread. He has to at least portray that he wants to come back to maximize his buyout.
  15. I think Belichick's biggest master stroke in that Super Bowl was having his players fake injury to slow down the no-huddle offense. The bolded is somewhat true. It's not the entire fanbase but a higher percentage than it should be. Those people are a grim, joyless group. It makes you wonder about their lives.
  16. Yeah, Michael's touting "the company line" was disappointing. He's either propping up his paycheck or he's very naive and he's way too old to be naive.
  17. Good one. Thankfully no one here is in the locker room or on the sidelines with Josh. It's funny seeing the degree to which people are superstitious or not.
  18. So now we're going in circles again... people repeating stuff that's already been written in this topic. Par for the course. I see storm clouds on the horizon. People keep saying "it's Tua's decision" but (and I'm not a doctor or a lawyer) I believe there's a scenario whereby the NFL and/or the Dolphins do not clear him to play. Either way it'll be a field day for the lawyers. He's already made $73 million in his career. Also there's the possibility of a settlement. If Tua wants to maximize his earnings without playing he would act as if it's his intention to play. That is the smart move so that his buyout in a settlement would be higher. This misses the point. Even the experts are disagreeing over this because brain injuries are not an exact science. Thank you. You are correct. This was also addressed upthread. There are different severities. Tua has twice exhibited a "fencing response." He was concussed very badly and then re-entered the same game. Then he played and was concussed 4 days later. This is likely VERY different from what Morse went through. Agreed. At some point the league and/or the team has to start shedding liability in the event Tua is killed on the field or spends the rest of his life with a colostomy bag attached to his jaw. Exactly. Several have brought up Morse as if his situation is equivalent. AGAIN, look at the video of Tua's concussions...
  19. Where are your numbers, @86poker? He quoted a very specific statistic. He quoted them, he should just cite them.
  20. Here are Tua's 3 concussions before Thursday night. Look at him wobbling after being hit by Milano: Then they said it was a back injury and he played 4 days later. Unbelievable.
  21. If he keeps this up he'll get the keys to the city... hell he might even be elected Mayor McCheese! Also, arms, legs... head...
  22. I LOVE having these tall, rangy, long guys in the defensive backfield. I never appreciated before what an asset it is simply to have that body type. And body type aside, these guys can ball.
  23. Yes, his first concussion was against the Bills. His second concussion was 4 days later against the Bengals. That should never have happened and things might be different today had that not happened. We'll never know. The rules and equipment have been making the NFL incrementally safer for many years. After first digging in their heels around Elliott Pellman they finally saw that they were losing the battle and have instituted many rules changes (to protect QBs, to protect receivers, horse collar, hip drop, etc). The Tua situation is very bad and looks very bad for the league but it shouldn't obscure the fact that the NFL has actually been increasing player safety for many years now.
  24. Yeah but he’s kind of a subspecies of troll if you know what I mean. 😁
  25. I don’t dwell on it and remain hopeful for the future.
