  1. This is great research and thanks for sharing... however keep in mind that the difference is a 16 game versus 17 game schedule so the 8 win parameter is different. Von is also our best run defender on the edge with the possible exception of Smoot. On all three points, you speak the truth.
  2. I definitely like what I've seen from Smoot. Very good all-around DE. I'd be happy to bring him back, but to the subject... yes the Bills need to upgrade their edge rushers. The problem is he's simply not a constant pass rushing force. I hope there's still some more ceiling. Tankathon? That's awesome. Or two... Yes, thank you. People here too often get blinded by the belief that elite players are only available in the high first round. We do but many of us loved Crosby before his public declaration of fondness for the Bills. He can change the order of his name and even drop that extra "L" but he's not fooling anyone... especially with that stupid captain's hat. As a homer I'd still say that our duo is the weakest of this group. On the other hand, every year there's good value in free agency. Also there might be some veterans available for trade. For example I can't believe the Giants got Brian Burns for so cheap... a former 1st rounder with 46 sacks in 5 years for a 2nd rounder??? Sign me up. As @BADOLBILZ points out, the Bills have their "prototypes" and while they might make an exception such as Solomon they'd more likely disqualify players who don't fit their profile. Just a guess but Koonce seems like he's shorter than what the Bills would go for.
  3. I was kidding you about the tickets this time. The first two times I quoted you I wasn't. Again, glad you made sure to sell them to Bills fans instead of on the open market.
  4. I feel like these assertions need to be accompanied by some sort of documentation. I believe #83 is big Sherman White... helluva football player. Don't know who the other player is. Thank you and I'm surprised the error took 4 pages to be corrected. Apparently a lot of people don't know who Paul Maguire is... or don't care.
  5. Also, he's more likely to run another Lamar interception back 101 yards for a touchdown than Dorian is. Others here have posted the equivalent of this earlier in the topic but it's nice to see it broken down by ranking. It also bears mentioning that in the Giants game the QBs were Tim Boyle and Tommy DeVito, and in the Cleveland game it was Bailey Zappe, Maybe because he's not a sexual predator? Flowers ain't playing and Harbaugh's not fooling anyone (except for those who believe that the word "gullible" is not in the dictionary). Dude, it's obvious you're downplaying the severity of the weather because you're trying to unload those last two tickets. 🙃 If I recall correctly, according to the Chicago Manual of Style when in doubt, you go alphabetically... or by draft order... can't quite remember. No. There's no reason to make every aspect of the world idiot-proof. There can't be a safety net for everything. Let's not diminish the importance of Darwinism.
  6. In fairness he recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD. Also, it's hard to imagine that he didn't have some impact as a blocker but that's just a guess.
  7. A handful of Justice Hill touches from week 4: 1st and 10, 9 yard reception. 1st and 10, 11 yard run 3rd and 14, 15 yard reception 2nd and 7, 19 yard TD reception 3rd and 7, 9 yard reception Gotta do better against this guy.
  8. In fairness, the score of the first game was 35-10.
  9. Re: contributing factors, believe what you'd like about how weather affects certain teams. I don't think the Highmark field is heated.
  10. Let me think about this for a few years. Stat? Thank you ror reiterating this significant and overlooked aspect of the Ravens' defensive "improvement." Thank you for trying not to sell to Ravens fans. Much appreciated. BUMP Three plays which all significantly swung the game away from the Bills were the Kincaid drop, the trick play, and the missed field goal. Also Justice Hill probably hurt us more than Henry did. We shall see. Relevant or not... Josh Allen hand size: 10.125" Lamar Jackson hand size: 9.5"
  11. This sounds untrue. Any reason you didn't provide a link?
  12. As you saw by the emoticon responses there are a lot of people who either: want to limit Shakir's injury exposure and/or are good with Codrington because he was 4th in the league at 11.59 ypr I'm good either way but lean towards Codrington resuming his duties as long as he's healthy. Yes, Lamar's back ribs are probably pretty sore. Kudos to you... this is the first mention of this that I've seen in 3 days and hundreds of posts. It might be enough to affect his play.
  13. "Fascinating Captain..."
  14. To earn a new pick. I think we earned a new pick. I think so. Apparently we were cheering for them to beat the Vikings. I hope we don't play them in the Super Bowl.
  15. FYI, Von played 9 snaps (16%) against the Ravens in week 4. He was suspended for the following 4 games.
  16. Here's the site I refer to for snap counts for those who might want to bookmark it: https://www.footballguys.com/stats/snap-counts/teams?team=BUF&year=2024 In week 4, there were 57 total defensive snaps. Re the linebackers: Morrow: 16 snaps (28%) Spector: 55 snaps (96%) Williams: 49 snaps (86%) Andreesen 3 snaps (5%) Besides the disastrous trick play and missed field goal, I seem to remember a drive-killing dropped pass that felt pivotal at the time. Easy now... it's only Tuesday night. 😜
  17. I saw Smoot take some snaps at tackle.
  18. Yes, thank you. Fred Jackson. If @Mr. WEO hadn't, I would have because I definitely have this screenshot handy dandy! I think it'll be a while before it gets old.
  19. I definitely disagree with your take but I'm not gonna debate you. I'll just finish by saying that IMO, the Bills were significantly more affected by injuries and new personnel than were the Ravens. That was proven the following week against the Texans. If you care to disagree and refute, no problem. By all means have at it.
  20. It won't be a popular thing to say but honestly, too many of our fans are spoiled. You can tell just from being here at TSW that many are stuck in "show me" mode. I see crowd shots and see too few people trying to make noise. I see where season ticket holders are disinclined to attend games and sell their tickets to whomever. This QB and team deserve better than fans that are lazy and entitled. Thank goodness we still have a majority of great fans but too many bring nothing to the stadium. Yep. As much as hate to say it (and again, it wont make me popular to say so) too many Bills fans are jaded and spoiled. I loved that the team showed zero panic. Talk about a workmanlike effort... Plan your work and work your plan. I saw where some fans were not happy that the Bills didn't win more decisively... as if style points matter. The Bills did what they had to in order to win and they weren't interested in impressing anyone by needlessly running up the score or going pass happy on offense. I for one, like that. The Bills defense is playing their best ball of the season. The team is healthier than they've been all season. I'm VERY bullish on the Bills. I see where some people were commenting on the dominance of the Rams defense in their big win over the Vikings last night... the same defense that the Bills hung 42 points on. The Rams had 9 sacks against Minny but ZERO against the Bills. The only thing that has slowed the offense this year are injuries, the unfamiliarity of many new parts, and the occasional bad play call. At this point I don't believe there's a defense in the league who can slow down the Bills O which is hitting on all cylinders. Now fully healthy, the Bills are finally "multiple" on both sides of the ball. I believe we'll see an assignment sound and deceptive defense and I'm excited to see what wrinkles the team throws at the Ravens. Agree 100%. It was posted elsewhere and bears mentioning again, even in spite of the injuries and new starters, the Bills were 3rd in points allowed at home... 16.3 points allowed.
  21. Mutiny on the ship? It was really a great draft, especially for D-linemen: JJ Watt, Robert Quinn, Ryan Kerrigan, Aldon Smith, Adrian Clayborn, Cam Jordan, Muhammad Wilkerson, Cam Heyward, Jabaal Sheard, Da'Quan Bowers, Nick Fairley, Corey Liuget, Jurrell Casey That draft also featured AJ Green, Patrick Peterson, and Julio Jones in the first 6 picks. You should be promoted to commodore!
  22. BTW, Curtis Samuel was hampered even starting in preseason by toe, chest, and foot injuries. He's probably the healthiest he's been all season.
  23. It's been well documented in this topic that the Bills D was very shorthanded in the week 4 meeting. On the other side of the ball, it was only the 4th game in Joe Brady's new offense. Newcomers who would eventually become regulars such as Mack Hollins, Keon Coleman, Curtis Samuel and Ray Davis were still growing in the offense. Amari wasn't even here yet It was also only the 4th game with a new starting center and left guard. I'm hoping to play KC next week en route to the Super Bowl, not Houston. This is a fairly popular opinion among media and fans alike. Thank you very much for doing this. I really appreciate your integrity as a Bills fan. Do you still call your first girlfriend's old phone number? Just curious. Thanks again and bump.
  24. I only saw bits of his last two games but boy, did it look like JJ was struggling to get open. Publicly urinated and spit upon, admonished with epithets, and only then, shot. Then left to rot in the town square and defecated upon... as their relatives are forced to watch in abject shame...
