We need to start using Cook a lot more and just let Cook Cook!!!
Aesop replied to Toyo321's topic in The Stadium Wall
Until Motor stops being so damn consistent, its hard to give Cook a full work load. And trust me, I love James Cook, incredible ceiling. I think we have a solid RB room with Motor and Cook. -
As many have said, the Bills had a three score lead and the cheese kept running the ball. The only complaint I guess I have is the one drive in the 4th where Jones/Dillon ran for like 60+ yards in like three plays. The drive ended in a FG because of the PI on Tonyan. If teams are going to keep running it, down by 17 in the 4th quarter, I dont mind staying in the nickel base defense. Let them milk clock and kick FG's. I get we have to find things to complain about, even with a win. I'd rather complain about Josh throwing two picks inside the Pack's 50. That took points off the board and ultimately kept GB in the game.

D-Line being healthy is a silver lining. Thankfully Josh/Diggs/O-Line are healthy. Bills win. -

Agreed 100%. I'd love to see Cook get 7-10 opportunities per game. With his ability in open space its just a matter of time before he breaks one.

Bills win by 10 -
I'm just glad I don't have to see JP Losman or Trent Edwards under center. Josh missed some throws, specifically the 4th and goal play to McKenzie. But even with a banged up offensive line, he gave us a chance to win at the end of the game. Just have to get healthy and this team is back on track. The Bills are 2-1 and get another crack at the Dolphins in December.

How confident are you going into tonight's game?

Was never mad. Very sad for about a week, then I moved on with my life. It's just a game, I love the Bills but would never allow the outcome of a game to dictate my emotions for too long.

Not all 4-2-5's are alike. In some situations the Mike would have 2-gap or widened gaps based on the alignment (shades of the DL). But I see your point and I appreciate your civil discourse.

I expect this revamped D-Line to prevent guards from getting to the second level, allowing Edmunds some more clean looks at his gaps in the run game. He is already an amazing coverage LB in this system. Buffalo has lacked a true 1 tech at DT and with the failed experiment of Star, Edmunds has under performed against the run. We also run a ton of nickel, meaning Edmunds is asked to cover multiple gaps in the run game. But to sum it up, I say we let Edmunds play out this season and if all goes according to plan he should be in for a big year. We'll decide on next year after we win the SUPER BOWL this year.

If LB Devin Lloyd is available at Pick 25......
Aesop replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with you. Last year, since the Bills ran a ton of nickel, Edmunds was required to cover two gaps ALOT. But this was also because the defense lacked a true 1 Tech at DT. McD wants to run a one gap system (remember Kuechly and Star in his prime). This would make Edmunds responsible for either the A or B gap, depending on the formation. My point is that the additions of Phillips, Jones and Settle (who all have the size and strength to eat space) should help. I want to preface also, that I am all for the Bills drafting Llyod if he's available at 25. I am not sold on Edmunds, but he should improve this season with a more beefed up D-line. -

McDermott runs a single gap system, which focuses heavily on quick penetration by the defensive line to disrupt the offense. The linebackers have gap responsibilities dependent on the formation, they don't get to choose their own gaps lol.
