  1. I like Groot. I think he's good not great. We could get someone in the draft with his impact, but it's tough, very unlikely. I get our cap may be reduced this year but Beane is likely looking at the whole picture. My worry is just like I said. That instead of going aggressive and landing an elite player we're going to go conservative and keep building in the draft. I'm not pissed or going crazy, just concerned. I trust Beane overall. But his DL drafting is suspect. Elite talent is available. That doesn't always happen.
  2. Not super happy. This makes me think Beane thinks we're close on defense and that no big (risky) moves are coming. I really hope I'm wrong. I like Groot. Not at this salary. I'd let him go and spend assets on Garrett.
  3. Yes, this is how I'm reading the tea leaves too. Not loving it if that's the case.
  4. Yeeep, been there.
  5. I never understood why he hasn't done better. All the talent in the world.
  6. Garrett #1, Trey #2, DK #3. Don't overrate picks Beanie. Elite talent available!
  7. Gonna be bummed if we don't make a move for one of the elite talents available. Crazy offseason.
  8. I wish something like this were possible. Because he could play healthy the rest of his career. But that's super unlikely and someone will probably pay him a ton.
  9. I'm gonna be pissed if anyone elite goes for very few resources. Not often is so much elite talent available.
  10. I think he'd be great with us. Playing with Josh over Geno? Yes please.
  11. ...and now Slay. I can do this all day.
  12. Just you wait till I add Crosby to the list...
  13. Yes, let's get DK and Davante along with Garrett. One can dream...
  14. For just a 5th though? Man. Cheap.
  15. We can do both. Depending on cost of course. But DK is a beast, possible game changer on an already great offense.
  16. If we could swing it for a 4th or less? Amazing, do it.
  17. Or when the offense does score late and there are 13 seconds left...no, I get your point and we should always look to improve. But fault? It's the defenses fault. Except the Cinci loss.
  18. Not fair imo. You can't blame offenses when they don't score on a drive but play great 90% of a game. McDermotts defenses aren't bad they straight up suck in the playoffs. He hasn't come through once.
  19. No, that's not it because they had injuries too (this year they were healthier but other years they weren't). We just can't overcome. Some might say it's personnel I say it's coaching.
  20. It did compromise their chances but through good/creative coaching they were pretty close to overcoming nearly historic injury levels. While we, with a couple injuries every year, cannot. I'd say it's because McD is too conservative while other high quality defensive coaches will take major aggressive risks.
  21. Absolutely. Not only did we have an efficient, high-scoring offense, but for the first time in a long time we ran a lot and controlled TOP. That helped hide a lot of defensive deficiencies.
  22. Exactly. Other teams utilize coaching creativity to overcome. We don't. Our defensive scheme/coaching and to an extent roster, is suspect. I'll remain on team "fire McDermott" until I see some kind of proof of what he brings to the table. Right now to me it looks like his success is 100% due to Josh and being able to run a good regular season defense. He's supposed to be a D guru and his D gets smoked every single year in the playoffs. I don't think he has what it takes to beat the best coaches.
  23. Run analytics on free agen receivers. Target guys who can catch and separate with good 40 times. Sign.
  24. Cool. Let's get another slow asss cb. Only want him if he's like 4-5th cb.
