Every team has injuries in the playoffs. I'll grant you that year, that game, it was worse and we likely win if healthy. What about other years? The excuse game is lame.
Playing Klein was a decision. A terrible one. He may have known the defense but he was spent. Every single team deals with injuries. It's a lame excuse.
A monster 1t DT. A better LB or two. A Safety to replace Poyer. For DT I'd like someone like Vita Vea. LB someone that best resembles a Viking berserker. Bigger than what we've been drafting. Oh, a pass rush specialist.
We've been here before though. We'll get into the playoffs even though we're extremely flawed. I'd rather do a mini rebuild at this point. Gotta get rid of dead weight and horrible contracts.
I'd want to keep Beane because I've got a really strong feeling McD has his hands all over the picks too. I could be wrong here I admit but I'd work hard to find out his influence there first.
Every team has injuries. It's a lame excuse. Somehow other coaches still win. We don't because we don't have offensive or defensive geniuses. We have a staff that is maybe above average.
I see this perspective for sure. But I also see Beane not adding anyone at the trade deadline as possibly being an admission that he knows we have no chance this year. I'm not saying this because we didn't add the most expensive pieces but because we added nothing.
And the Pats will likely be better next year. Maybe they fall off a cliff this year. It's not very likely imo.
