I don't think it was that, I think it was more of an sub-conscious thing. They want to protect their best players and just take it too far with Mahommes. I heard someone real smart talk about this type of thing recently, if i find it i'll share because it was really interesting.

I agree but we should still look to improve where we can. Imo maybe one wr that can play outside and separate. Otherwise yes, fix the defense.

Unless I'm mistaken, Hendrickson is signed for this upcoming season. He's not a free agent. So you'd have to trade for him. He wants a long-term deal so he's possibly available but again we're talking about giving up resources. A lot. Garret has 3-4 great seasons still. Barring injury.

The premise of the thread is flawed. I see nothing in FA that will put us over. Maybe some good players will get released but we're looking for value and won't seek top $ guys. Trades are only way we're getting elite talent.

Someone won something they truly deserved. Doesn't happen all too often. Now we get Garret AND Crosby and nab that first Lombardi.

I agree with a lot that you say. But it's the exact reason I would have gone full aggressive mode. Yes, kc would have gotten more big plays. But we may have lucked into an additional stop. Think DET VS MIN their 2nd game. Detroit blitzed like crazy hoping big plays would result in stops because they were decimated by injuries, much worse than us. I know Mahommes is 10x better than Darnold against the Blitz but look at our playoff defense! Overall they are the reason we get knocked out EVERY year. Our standard defense doesn't get it done. Ever. Do something different ffs!

We needed to take risks. Maybe the corners would have been more successful blitzing than covering (looking at Elam). It would have made KC think twice when running certain plays too.

Wish we had done more cb blitzes against kc. Would have made mahommes think twice when he rolls out. But we were not creative and played like pansies instead.

I like this idea. We are not going to get rid of mcclappifukstick. Get someone else to run the def. Playoffs show our D's true colors. And every year they look awful.
