  1. Interesting upcoming season for McD. He showed his coaching ability in his first year with the Bills coaching team that was not particularly talented to the playoffs and ending the playoff drought. He has more talent now, but less than in past years, so hopefully coaching will be able to bridge the current gaps so we can have a return to the playoffs this season.
  2. A step back given the loss of Diggs, rotational defensive line players, ST players and overall depth. I really don't see any improvements to a roster that I thought already was below the talent level of a number of other teams, including San Fran, Baltimore, Miami and KC. I think the Bills will miss Morse, Floyd and Diggs in particular. I know that we were hamstrung by the salary cap this season, but the Bills really needed to improve their overall talent level. Post initial free agency and the draft, I don't think we have moved significantly in that direction.
  3. Our draft feels like a draft to fill depth more than anything else. Did we pick the best player at any of the positions for which we drafted? Not according to the draft experts, but time will tell. If the goal was to draft players to be starters this season, I would have expected a more aggressive effort to move up in the draft at key positions of need, such as WR. I assume that Coleman will be a starter, but he seems to be pegged as more of a slot than anything else, not a needed #1 or #2 WR. I guess Van Pran Granger and Bishop will get shots, but I don't see them as full-time starters this season, but we will see.
  4. More than the other picks that they have traded, this is the pick that the Bills can really leverage, but if they want a particular WR, I expect that they will make the pick because some of the teams drafting immediately after them seem to have significant needs at WR (i.e., the Patriots and the Chargers).
  5. Can we even make a trade for Aiyuk or Higgins if we wanted to? I thought that a player traded for would need to fit under the acquiring team's cap before it can be consummated. Would not be able to do that with Aiyuk or Higgins at this point.
  6. So Billsy. Not even picking on the first night of the draft with significant needs.
  7. Bummed, but if the Bills don't move up in the draft for Thomas or Worthy, I think they will take two WRs in the first four rounds.
  8. I think selecting Worthy at 28 would be reasonable value if he is available, but I am not seeing anything that suggests that he is or will become a true #1 WR, which, if true, means we would still need to fill that role.
  9. Seems like Odunze wants to go to Chicago to join Williams. Not sure if Chicago is planning to draft him at #9, but if we really want him, probably need to move in front of the Bears if he would otherwise be there at their pick. I don't think we will be able to pull this off, but I hope I am surprised tomorrow evening. If this does happen, I also hope that Odunze will be excited and appreciative.
  10. With all of the negative stuff that has been leaking out as we get closer to the draft, I would be surprised if the Bills were trying to move up for Thomas or Mitchell. Granted, this seems to happen before every draft, some of the information being true and some not so much, but given our needs, I can't see Beane using resources to trade up for a pick that does not have high character. If this is the case, and the target is a WR, it suggests that he wants Odunze. Not sure that an "aggressive" trade up would be necessary for Worthy, but if Mitchell and Thomas are falling on draft boards, I guess it is possible that Worthy would be considered by some teams to be the 4th best WR option n the draft.
  11. Now with potential character and injury concerns with Thomas (and character concerns with Mitchell), where does this leave us? Wondering if we draft a WR in the second round given that there may not be a WR with a first round grade left on our draft board.
  12. Odunze is the ideal pick for the Bills. Unfortunately, he will not be available to us unless the Bills make a massive trade up in the draft to get him.
  13. Seems like there are a lot of questions about the WRs available in the draft after you get past the top three and probably Thomas as well. I thought Mitchell would be the guy, but I now think that character questions will disqualify him as a possibility for the Bills. Starting to warm up to Worthy and Franklin, but I am not sure they are good value at 28 in the first round.
  14. Herbert to the Vikings would be wild. I guess the Chargers would then draft McCarthy at #5?
