  1. That last big pass play on the bubble screen was absolutely OPI. The other WR was engaged in a block like 3 yards down the field way before the ball was over there.
  2. So many depth RBs I want to catch up with. Karlos Williams, Anthony Thomas, Chris Ivory, Boobie Dixon, Tashard Choice, Mike Tolbert, Latavius Murray, Shaud Williams. The list goes on and on! Not Zack Moss though...
  3. That TD pass play design was neat. Not sure how you defend that if they execute it well. I guess a DB immediately charging into the backfield to try to break it up.
  4. I have to disagree. Our most likely divisional round opponent is the Ravens, and I would much rather face them here than in Baltimore.
  5. 25 minutes into the game and zero points scored yet...
  6. I would be shocked if the Broncos lose to the KC backups. I would say there is like an 85% chance we will be hosting the Broncos on Wild Card weekend, and like 10% chance we face the Colts instead. Then I guess it will depend on how week 18 goes for whether we'd be looking at Texans, Ravens, Steelers or Chargers in round 2. The most likely scenario IMO is all of those teams win next week (they should all be favored). That would give: DEN(7) at BUF(2) LAC(6) at BAL(3) PIT(5) at HOU(4) In that case we'll be facing the Ravens, Texans or Steelers theoretically in round 2. If the Ravens win their Wild Card game we would face them no matter what. If the Ravens lost their Wild Card game, then we would face the winner of the Steelers vs Texans. Seeds 3, 5, and 6 can still move around a bit. If Baltimore loses and the Steelers win, Baltimore becomes 5 and the Steelers become 3. If the Steelers lose and the Chargers win, Steelers become 6 and Chargers become 5.
  7. Then Lamar's defense pitches a shutout on Christmas (and his RB gets a buck fifty on the ground), and somehow all of the talk is how he was the star of the game and he's caught up in the MVP race? It is almost identical to the 49ers game last year where Lamar "clinched" the MVP (because narratives), when he did very little impressive and his defense got FIVE interceptions. FIVE! They were by far the reason the Ravens won that game, not Lamar at all. What I've learned is, if you have an okay game where you do whats necessary and your defense pitches a shutout or gets 5 interceptions then that is an MVP defining performance somehow. Makes no sense to me at all! Most QBs could have won those games with the performances on defense.
  8. They should just sign Cam Robinson or Ronnie Stanley in free agency this year. They have a QB and #1 WR on rookie contracts, now would be the time for that sort of thing.
  9. He has 72 million reasons to smile. In his defense, his unit did just hold the other team to 6 points. Not much more they can do (other than score a defensive TD I guess).
  10. 9.3 million people live in the Chicago metro area. Even if only a small percentage get off on suffering via sports fandom, that's probably enough to fill a stadium.
  11. If you are confused about why the Seahawks look so uninspired despite fighting for a playoff spot, this game has almost no bearing on their ability to make the playoffs. No matter what happens this game, if the Rams lose or tie vs the Cardinals this weekend then next weeks Seahawks vs Rams matchup is for the division. There is a slim chance winning tonight could help them in a strength of victory tie breaker if the Rams win this week but lose next week, but it's unlikely.
  12. Another TNF masterpiece.
  13. I still think Caleb Williams can be good, but a pretty disappointing rookie year. Stinks for Bears fans that ownership decided to keep a lame duck coach around for another year.
  14. I think Cam Ward is the only NFL QB in this class, and I probably wouldn’t trade up for him.
  15. #1 based on beating up cupcakes in the regular season. 2021 - A great defense isn't giving up 42 points to any team (especially when there were zero turnovers by the offense to give a short field), and definitely isn't allowing the game tying score in 13 seconds. 2022 - A great defense isn't giving up 31 points to Skylar Thompson or giving up 27 points at home in the Divisional round. The scheme of this defense plays well in the regular season, and gets obliterated in the playoffs. This has been true since the corpse of Philip Rivers was one or two passes from upsetting us in the Wild Card.
  16. Worthy has been okay, but I can't help but feel like this is kind of his ceiling. Gadget run plays, man-coverage beating crossers and the occasional deep chuck with him trying to beat the safety. He's never going to be like Hill, he's way lighter. He's not as well rounded as a player like DeVonta Smith (another undersized WR). I guess that's worth a late first? Rice to me is a much better WR on that team, unfortunate for the Chiefs that he blew up his knee (and can't stay out of trouble).
  17. The worst part too is this approach keeps our offense off the field and encourages the other team to have long drives. How awesome was it getting one possession for the offense the entire first quarter this past weekend?
  18. It's not silly if it's a trend. Baltimore's defense was bad for the first chunk of the season and then has been playing a lot better since then (for about half the season). The narrative shouldn't be that they have a bad defense, because they don't. They just shut out a playoff team on the road for crying out loud.
  19. Ah I see, the exact stat is "Josh Allen recorded the lowest completion percentage (30.0%) in a game with at least 30 pass attempts in the last 30 seasons". Kind of cherry picked for what felt like just a regular bad game to me. A turnover or sack is much worse than an incompletion (as can be seen by Stroud letting us get back in that game with his turnovers). There are actually a bunch of players with a lower completion percentage, just less than 30 attempts. (source: https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/worst-completion-percentage-nfl-history-in-one-game-by-qb-min-20-pass-attempts)
  20. How was Allen historically awful against Houston? Was it his YPA or completion percentage or something? This was the "Mack Hollins #1 WR" game, and Allen still had 185 total yards, 1 TD, 0 turnovers and led 4 scoring drives. He played within himself when literally nothing was going right. Didn't end up being enough to win, but for another example Goff had a MUCH worse game vs the Texans than Allen did. For some perspective, if Allen got the same defensive performance Lamar got then the Bills would have won by three scores.
  21. 6 out of the past 7 games the Ravens defense has played excellent (the one outlier being that crazy Bengals shoot out). I haven't checked (mostly because I don't know how), but they must be a top 5 scoring defense in that time span. I think the "Ravens have a bad defense" narrative should be put away, it hasn't been true for almost 2 months.
  22. Who will be Arthur Moats this Sunday? Former Packers greats don't have the best luck against us.
  23. Not only did his defense pitch a shutout, his HOF RB ran for a buck fifty, including over 80 yards and a TD in the first quarter. That is playing the game on easy mode, and any game manager QB could win that game by multiple scores. I’m not saying Lamar is a game manager, but a game like that shouldn’t be some major bullet point on his MVP resume.
  24. If Steelers win and Ravens lose next week then Steelers win the division. An interesting point is that the Ravens lost to the Browns earlier this season and the Steelers beat the Bengals already. So we want a repeat of those events.
  25. Several teams have slowed down the Ravens offense this year. It requires stopping the running game from the RBs. Henry had 78 yards and a TD in the first quarter yesterday! If you let that happen, you are going to 100% lose and it has nothing to do with Lamar. We saw it all the time with the Tannehill Titans.
