  1. Palmer and Kincaid are the only players that can get open and catch the ball past 10 yards. So when they were both out after 6 snaps on offense, we were severely limited in what we could do vs Atlanta. No joke, we might need Gabe Davis to suit up and see what he can do. Hopefully he is recovered soon.
  2. Josh Palmer is an okay starter, especially for his cap hit. He plays like a low end WR2. Some more chemistry with Allen will lead to more targets. But the Bills have no WR1. And Palmer is probably more of a WR3 on a team with good WR depth. So we have no WR1, a low end WR2, and a pretty good slot WR. It isn’t surprising when we play good CBs, that these guys get totally shut down.
  3. A little off topic, but I do think Adams will be “promoted” to some senior leadership position in the Sabres soon and relieved of his GM duties.
  4. Pretty sure the LBer is supposed to go over to that zone. Probably why Tre was confused/late to get over there.
  5. I'm pretty sure we could have signed Keenan Allen this offseason. He's on pace for 900 yards and 9 TDs. He has a $3m cap hit. Maybe we can lure Amari Cooper out of retirement.
  6. Even a player like Torrence has a lot of weeks where he is our worst rated offensive lineman. Kincaid hasn't really meaningfully contributed to this team yet as TE1 (although he looks poised to do that this year if he can stay healthy, remains to be seen).
  7. To be honest the situation was basically identical last year. I'm surprised teams didn't do it more. The Texans had us figured out. Maybe most teams don't have corners good enough to execute that (Falcons and Pats have good corners, which we saw the past 2 weeks). Blanket our mediocre boundary WRs with 1-on-1 coverage. Don't worry about doubling anybody. Bring an extra rusher every drop back. Make sure you keep Allen in the pocket and make him throw to one of those guys that isn't open.
  8. Can a sports psychologist bring in a #1 WR?
  9. When you have a high cap hit QB, you really can't strike out on an entire draft.
  10. If you love watching Gabe Davis play for the Bills, then you are in luck. With the way our WR are playing this season, he'll be getting 80% of the snaps by the end of the season.
  11. Hairston Sanders Coleman Bishop Kincaid Torrence Elam Cook Rousseau Basham Epenesa ^ That is 6 seasons worth of 1st and 2nd round picks. Kincaid is decent (probably average for his draft slot). Torrence is up and down, but part of a good unit. Cook is a top-10 back and outplayed his draft spot. Rousseau is okay. The rest are busts, or haven't made an impact yet. That is a really bad drafting track record over 6 years, and it's kind of crazy the Bills have had consistent success with that.
  12. Ha, fair point. Probably some WR we trade a 4th round pick for at the trade deadline a la Cooper last season.
  13. If he has a lot more games like this one he'll find himself on the bench for sure. And then next year he'll be fighting for playing time. 2nd round picks frequently don't get a 2nd contract.
  14. These guys never look back for the ball in situations where a blitz is likely. Happened last year vs KC in the playoffs too. I think that is coaching, as well as just talent. Diggs would always be aware of stuff like that and make himself available.
  15. I'm not sure this is really the season to go all in and burn draft capital/future cap space. We are not just a WR away. We have holes all over the roster.
  16. Keon is lucky that he was a high 2nd round pick, because I'm not convinced Shavers in the same position would have any different production (and Shavers isn't a starting NFL talent either). If Keon was taken in the 5th round, he wouldn't be seeing the field.
  17. Atlanta blitzes on 50% of their drop backs. What was Brady even doing all week?
  18. Our offensive coordinator stinks. It's pretty obvious our WRs are getting zero separation in single coverage, and Atlanta is blitzing (and doing a good job keeping Allen in the pocket). The answer to that is quick slants, RB screens and running it inside. We do slow developing routes down the field. Cook is actually doing really well up the middle and they totally go away from it in the 4th. Just not a tactically smart OC.
  19. Without Kincaid, Samuels, and Palmer, the offense was cooked. Shavers and Elijah Moore are out there screwing up and making bad plays. Defense also put the team in a big hole, which messes things up on offense. It changes your philosophy when it looks like the defense won't get a stop all game (which it definitely looked like that in the first half).
  20. Well McDermott got what he wanted. That was definitely "complementary football".
  21. Maybe he was throwing it away, got tipped at the line (unless you mean thrown it away sooner).
  22. I guess we should have kicked the FG
