There's 2 decades of PTSD we're still working through. We're all thoroughly convinced this stretch of competence is a mirage and the rug is going to get pulled out from under us the second we let our guard down.

DC's trying to gameplan for this offense like: -
They were also (relatively) at full strength against us. Since that game they've lost Alualu for the season, TJ Watt, Highsmith, Haden and Bush are also all dinged up and have missed time. They're a very flawed team that needs masterful defensive performances to win close games because their line is very meh and their offense is kind of anemic. It's just unfortunate that they caught us with that perfect storm in week 1, that being said I think the team learned a lot from that loss and it's showed in the games against MIA and WFT.

Regardless of the quote, that drive was the classic old school NE/Brady style drive that just crushes any hope the defense might have of getting back into this game. It was beautiful to be on the other side of that for once. I have PTSD from years of watching Brady just dink and dunk his way down the field, watching the defense just slump after each converted 3rd down, knowing that a TD is inevitable and all hope is lost.

he’s also got enough tape from last year that any DC worth his salt is like “make sure you know where 13 is” because he roasted defenses all last season on sandlot and sideline plays. Sanders is an unknown quantity for a lot of defenses so covering him in this play design is still a work in progress. -

That’s a textbook, backbreaking NE-style drive that just saps the life out of you if you’re a fan of the other team. -

That’s a pbj power defensive series right there. -

I better be feeling that pbj power in the second half. -

Come on, they’re in the game on fluke-y trick plays and ST shenanigans. Let’s just show them who’s the better football team. -

Dang that was one hell of a catch by Knox -
Yeah energy density on a PBJ is solid, checks all the boxes for protein, carbs and fat. Just laughing to myself thinking that halftime for adult football players is more like my kiddos snack time than a solid strategy check for adjustments going into the back half.
-
TIL that adult football players got PBJs on the ready for snacks at halftime. Here I’m thinking football players are all strategizing for the second half and it’s just a bunch of 200+lb dudes eating PBJs and drinking juice boxes.

Beth Mowins to call Bills-Texans
uninja replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nothing personal against Beth Mowins, she's never honestly bothered me that much but my head kind of tunes out the announcers as I watch the game anyway. Really wish there was some way you could mute just the broadcast booth, increase the volume of the stadium down/distance/player announcements and keep the stadium noise. -
He made 2016-2017 watchable. Loved watching him rip off big runs. He was basically half our offense those years.

Totally getting a huge Bills era drought vibe from watching how Houston is playing.

Any relation to Mike Glennon?

Backup QBs always seem like they’re having great seasons until they meet the Bills defense. Brandon Allen, Devlin Hodges, Tua (last year), Justin Herbert. Unless you have a fantastic line and a killer running game, Frazier’s schemes make most QBs look very mortal.

I hate the Jets with unbridled passion
uninja replied to RobbRiddicksTDLeap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Jets don't deserve anyone's hate or scorn, for they are neither great, fearsome or anything that would invite such strong feelings. They are something much worse. They are just, irrelevantly, 'there'. -

Not great when your CB#2 and CB#3 are limited and on the injury report at the same time.

Diggs and Beasley were #1 and #2 in targets on the team last year, teams are scheming to force the ball away from those two. Last year teams weren't ready for 14 and 11, this year they are (at least up to now). We've either faced some very good defenses that can shut down our 2 best receivers, or teams are just making sure that whatever happens make sure you know where 14 and 11 are and don't let them catch the ball. I think we'll be fine. Just need to lean on the run game which looks much better (so far) and draw up plays where 14 and 11 aren't the first or second read while we iron out the kinks.
