  1. Southern chain restaurants (some have started expanding out of the south) to try if you get a chance: Bojangles, Krispy Kreme, Waffle House, Huddle House, Steak & Shake, Church's Chicken
  2. For motivation when the time is running out and the score is against you, I go with Belushi: "What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
  3. I don't watch a NFL game unless the Bills are playing in it. The exception is the Super Bowl, I watch until halftime for the commercials, then switch away before the the horrible halftime show starts.
  4. The number one sport for concussions is not football, it is cycling: http://www.traumaticbraininjury.net/move-over-football-cycling-is-the-biggest-cause-of-sports-related-tbi/ Yet we never hear about people saying they won't let their kids ride bicycles...
  5. I found the HD would turn on/off, had some stuttering, and the overall quality was nowhere near what I get on Sunday Ticket. I was using a PS4 and 60" TV, so quality issues are a lot more noticeable than on a tablet.
  6. Sporting News has the Bills at 22, the Jets at 21, the Dolphins at 10 and the Pats at 1. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/week-1-nfl-power-rankings-brady-is-back-separates-pats-from-pack/ar-AAe5inP
  7. I have a 25MB DSL and have clocked nearly 40MB on it. They tie two lines together and use a special modem/router to get the higher speeds and I don't share the bandwidth with my neighbors like cable does. On the DTV side, I got my annual discount last that makes it almost free for the Sunday Ticket Max package. The trick is to ask for a discount on ST and when they say they can't, ask for what they can do with your programming package to reward your loyalty (15 year customer here). The discounts they gave me would have given me normal ST for about nothing, but I like the Max package which also includes online streaming.
  8. It is interesting that on the same Navajo reservation the lead plaintiff (Amanda Blackhorse) lives, the name of all-Navajo high school football team is (drumroll please): Redskins. http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/in-arizona-a-navajo-high-school-emerges-as-a-defender-of-the-washington-redskins/2014/10/26/dcfc773a-592b-11e4-8264-deed989ae9a2_story.html
  9. Why is everyone saying it is a 33 yard attempt? I thought you added 10 for the endzone and 7 for the spot, making it 17+ 15=32 yard attempt.
  10. 1980? You must have been seduced by the Talking Proud song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9j9h8KDJSQ
  11. One that I could think of is Don Majikowski with Green Bay. Split time at QB his rookie year (he was a 10th round pick) and led the NFL in yards his second year. Tore his rotator cuff the third year and career was over. His replacement, some guy named Brett Favre, took over. It was Favre's second year as a pro (he was a backup with a total of 4 pass attempts, 0 comps, 2 INT's and a sack at Atlanta). Favre rocked from then on out.
  12. He was a Senior this year, maybe he had a redshirt year left?
  13. The sleeper pick for the Bills would be Brandon Doughty from Western Kentucky. Led all of the QB's in the 2014 NCAA in TD's (49) and yardage (4830). A QB that can make 552 pass attempts and make 68% of them with only 10 interceptions, all while playing on a crappy team.
  14. We should incorporate the Medal of Honor into our logo, since Buffalo Bill Cody received one in 1872. Then again, it was for killing Indians, which isn't too PC nowadays.
  15. Trial by jury is smart IMO...just make sure all of the jurors are Bills fans! Plus, if you want to get re-elected as a DA in WNY, you might want to NOT convict Bills players. Not saying they should get away with murder, but no one was hurt except Dareus' car.
  16. Correct, as a I wrote earlier in this thread, the judge's ruling is not a conviction if you decide to go the full jury trial. Since the jury trial was dismissed, Hardy has no convictions/record in NC.
  17. Watched it at the old Strykersville Lanes, the owner used to show the blacked-out games. We had ordered food at halftime, so that kept us there until the comeback began. The bar went from half empty to packed by the end of the third quarter.
  18. He wasn't really "convicted" once. I live in NC and the way they set up domestic abuse trials is first it goes before a judge (no jury). Judge gives their decision and you can accept it and then it is a conviction or you can go to a jury trial. If you choose a jury trial, then you are still innocent until proven guilty until the jury makes the decision. The reasoning is that they found a lot of domestic violence cases tend to have the charges dropped after both parties cool off/sober up and rather waste the court and potential juror's time, they fast track it in front of a judge first. The guns don't mean diddly in NC, we have very loose gun laws here.
  19. Since Russell Wilson is talking about playing some baseball, maybe we go the other direction and steal a pitcher to be our QB.
  20. Plus, the Bills won't be spending any money on a first round draft pick this year.
  21. Walter Football has Carden going rounds 3-5 and doesn't even have Doughty listed. Drafttek has Carden as their 5th ranked QB and once again no Doughty.
  22. Since the Bills are not in position to grab one of the top QB's in the draft, I took a look at the stats of QB's from schools that are not football powerhouses. I wanted to see a QB that elevated his team despite not having top talent surrounding him. Looking at ESPN's EPA stat (Expected Points Added on a pass attempt) and two QB's had better EPA ratings than Marcus Mariota from Oregon (who will probably go in the first few picks). I picked this one stat because it was strictly about passing, not running, not how many sacks they took, etc. The two QB's were Shane Carden from ECU and Brandon Doughty from WKU. Mariota's EPA is 91.2 Carden's EPA is 94.1 Doughty's EPA is 110.3 Both Carden & Doughty are pocket-style passers, not read-option running QB's. This, to me, is a plus as it will make the transition to the pros easier. Both Carden & Doughty are gunslingers, putting up impressive passing yards: Mariota 4121 yds Carden 4736 yds Doughty 4830 yds I would think both of these QB's will be available when the Bills pick and would be nice to bring to camp to battle EJ for the starting job. Any thoughts on these two or some other QB's from non-powerhouse programs?
  23. Cowher went to NC State and moved back to Raleigh wen he left Pittsburgh, don't know how much time spends in PA anymore.
