I have always thought they are virtual twins when it comes to their coaching and management style. Neither will ever consistently rise above mediocre.

As far as I know, if you claim a player he needs to be put on the active roster, and assuming he is not a vested veteran, he must clear waivers before he can be put on the practice squad.

Daboll clearly plans to utilize the TE position. I would not be surprised to see three TEs on the field in some formations. I think early signs are positive that they may have some pretty decent TE options on the team. For those lamenting the loss of Duke Williams for his size and ball compete in the end zone, say hello to Sweeney and Knox, who are bigger and at least as fast and can fill that role nicely.

Seriously, with the health, or lack thereof, of our TE crew to date, it makes sense to have a viable option to possibly call back to the active roster down the road. (And yes, I got the sarcasm)

Either Croom or Kroft is going on IR is my guess.

The roster lists Neal as a safety for now but they have been playing him as more of a slot corner/big nickel. That seems to be why the roster looks out of balance with 5 CB and 5 Safety’s listed.

I hate to see Shady go as well, but I think this move is solid from a football persecutive for this team and it is hard to fault. I think Gore will be better in the by committee approach and role they have planned for him, and he is a great locker room guy by all accounts. It never made sense to me that they would keep both with a rookie in the wings who needs to get carries. It is always sad to see veteran who has meant so much to the team get cut.

There is no such thing. The NFL does not allow free out of market streaming of their games. The WGR broadcast is blacked out in non local markets. There are pay options through the NFL or Sirius.

Check that - he is interested in playing for a contender that will pay him what he wants. Apparently that’s not Houston.

If the price is a first round draft choice, then no thanks. His value is not that high given his contract situation. (A new contract cannot be negotiated until after this year) It is very possible he is gone after one year, two if you franchise him again at a ridiculous price. This is not worth a number 1.
