  1. With this years class, UDFAs are probably every but as good as late round draft choices. No difference.
  2. The Bills are primarily a pass first team. It seems to me that whatever slight run game scheme deficiency might present itself with this player, that his ability to create a wall in front of Allen from the RG position would be far more valuable. Unless of course, anyone would like to see a repeat of last year’s constant jail break from the right side. If this player pans out as expected, Spencer Brown will also be a major beneficiary.
  3. Since Beane said they are going play Williams outside, I guess you are right - it won’t be him.
  4. I long for the days when his type of obnoxious crusading was a sure trigger for a dose of the ban hammer. One of the reasons I have had this poster on ignore for some time.
  5. Travis Kielce ran a 4.63 at the combine. Just saying. This is a player the Bills can use for matchups all over the field but I think he will be primarily a slot type, rarely in-line. 50% of snaps is probably a good expectation year 1. He does not have to play every down to be impactful. We will see how they are able to use the new weapon. Should be fun.
  6. That seems like a big price for a player that no team seemed interested in making a big offer on when he was available. The Ravens were really in a tough spot, but I think they will come to regret this. Good for Lamar.
  7. As usual, great job. Your analysis and insights are much appreciated. Thank you.
  8. Rogers performance last year in all major statistical categories was well below his career average numbers. He was flat out mediocre in a number of games I saw. No one knows of course whether 2022 was an anomaly or the beginning of the end for a great player. It is not unusual for players to suffer a precipitous decline at the end of their useful shelf life in the NFL, especially quarterbacks. Rogers strikes me as a player who has mentally checked out. Perhaps he will be revived with his new team, perhaps the skills are intact and he will make a run at MVP in 2023. He has always been too selfish to be much of a leader so the Jets should not be counting on that. Personally, I would not bet on a Rogers turnaround. That said, even 50% of his best self is an upgrade over what the Jets had, so on paper at least, they are better. They now probably have the second best QB in the division. They should certainly not be favored over the Bills to win the AFCE, and they are not.
  9. There has absolutely not been one new thought posted in this thread, including the original post. Sad really.
  10. Still does not beat OchoCinco.
  11. I agree, but he did not show at the level that would justify that confidence last year. I doubt they have totally given up on him, but based on last year, they need to take a serious shot in this draft.
  12. He is too busy dodging chunks of the falling sky for spell checking.
  13. Agree. There has been a massive overreaction by fair weather fans and self styled so called objective “fans”. We were probably over confident to start the year which did not help the woe is us hysteria that resulted at the end of the year. Injuries took a major toll on the team, as did external circumstances. Players who were counted on to step up did not. Lessons will be taken. The Bills are still a strong contender. The draft will have its impact , and then the coaches will need to meld the revised team into winning form. Injuries over the course of the year and just the breaks of the game will have their impact as always, but i expect the Bills to be in contention from beginning to end again. Any greater expectation, of any team, is simply unrealistic.
  14. Great move. Very competent back up.
  15. Just announced that he resigned with Tampa. 1 year $7m. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10065679-lavonte-david-buccaneers-reportedly-agree-to-1-year-7m-contract-in-free-agency
  16. Yes, there is not much on the record to digest in evaluating this move for fans. Personally, that is why i tend to trust to people who do this for a living and despite the girlish hysteria around here, have done it pretty damn well, as opposed to completely uninformed fan opinion from this board or any other. The Bills needed upgrades at WR and this looks like an upgrade to me. If it spells the end of MacKenzie on the Bills I am thrilled. I have seen quite enough of him. He is overpaid at any price, but particularly the $ 2.5 m he will be paid this year. This guy will count another $1 m or so against the cap this year, which will be a bargain if he can actually play to his speed and hang on to the damn ball. Well worth a shot in my opinion. I hope the cut “Lil Dirty” today and spend that money on another useful player to fill one of our many other holes.
  17. Yes. Poyer will be signed soon. Beasley will be sitting on his couch when the season starts,
  18. There is already a precedent. The Panthers owner was forced out. I am sure they would prefer that Snyder sells the team “on his own initiative” if possible, for any number of reasons.
  19. Thielen has been beyond his sell by date for a couple of years now.
  20. Hopkins will be 31 when next season starts and has lost much of the last two years with injuries. He carries a cap hit over $30 mil next year and $26 m the following year. He is a very poor candidate for further big money extension. This is no doubt why AZ is trying to dump him. Buyer beware here. It would be a terrible move for the Bills and has zero chance of happening in my opinion.
  21. There you go confusing the preferred narrative with those pesky facts. Shame on you.
  22. Yes, it seems that the “hang ‘em high” crowd are about to find out that top notch DCs do not actually grow on trees.
  23. I am not sure it would be possible for you to be any more clueless.
