  1. Really? And just how do you measure “route running” to come up with that? How do you compare route running in the 60’s, 70’s, 80, 90’s, 00’s. - all different eras, some eras had different rules. Looking at something tangible, like total yards gained, Stevie is 10th all time on the Bills. He is the 9th all time WR on the Bills list if you take out running back Thurman Thomas. Considering the era he played in, that alone does not put him in the top ten overall. WRs with more total yards are: Reed, Moulds, Evans, Dubenion, Diggs, Lewis, Butler and Chandler - some of these guys played in eras where they did not the throw the ball nearly as much either. Some played against bump and run coverages. Stevie played in the passing era of the NFL and still ranks just 9th, barely ahead of Peerless Price who ranks 10th. Stevie is actually only 11th all time in average yards per game. Not outstanding at all considering he played in the throwing era. Or maybe the Bills have had a lot of excellent WRs in their history? Don’t like using yards? He is just 9th all time in receptions, 8th in TDs. So he is decent, but again this is a passing era player. There are 4 more WR that were better overall receivers than Stevie but have less yards due years played, era, injury, trade - Lofton, Beebe, JD Hill, and Glenn Bass. Stevie might be a “top 3 route runner in the NFL” as you suggest, I highly doubt it though given his rankings in the NFL during his era. All things considered, on the all time Bills WRs list he slots in around the 12 to 15 range IMO. It’s gets hard to compare him to players from other eras. Since I’ve seen every era, I put him outside top ten and somewhere around 12-15 seems about right - IMO. Nice guy. Fun player. A steal in the draft. He did acquire 1000 yards in 3 straight years which is highly notable. But I remember his drops and inconsistency as much as his good plays. PS. No need to feel horrible for me or you. It’s just opinion, only mine is based on factual data.
  2. Sure. He played in the passing era and he did ok, especially for where he was drafted. Still not a top ten WR, the Bills have a lot of very good ones.
  3. It sure does. Stevie and Spiller are not even top 10 all time Bills at their positions.
  4. Feel good because the W is what matters most. The pundits can spin their stories and tell us their take. On to the Pats*
  5. Sure. Terry Pegula's "people" called the unemployed and nondescript writer, Tyler Dunne, to write this big piece on McDermott and drop it during the week of the teams biggest game of the season just to have "enough ammo" to fire his head coach. Terry: Sean, I thought this over and I think we have to let you go as coach of the Bills. Sean: Ok boss, but can you tell me why? I know we don't have a Super Bowl yet, but I have turned this franchise around, we are a contender, the stadium is full, the Bills get National attention, they are building you a new stadium, we don't suck like the Sabres ... Terry; Yes, but remember that speech you gave in 2019, the one about the 911 terrorists ...
  6. Mahomes comes off like an entitled brat. It was crunch time and a penalty was called before this historic KC chiefs play happened. The rest of the football world will have to survive without this play. It was a real and indisputable call, not like holding or PI.
  7. Sure. But it seems over the top to blame Poyer and Hyde for anything.
  8. A woman already dropped similar charges on him in 2021. Could it be the same woman?
  9. Is this always about Josh? What exactly did Poyer and Hyde do to hurt Josh. They are warriors.
  10. Yes, that is a great Paul McGuire story, and true. No time to talk to old buddies after a game in the Rockpile.
  11. Agree. The pre snap penalties, missed assignments, drops, etc .... When they are chronic issues, like the Bills were for 6 weeks, you look at their coach. Practice should always include covering the basics of each position and the timing of the entire unit. Even when they become as natural as breathing.
  12. Depends. They didn't chase Russell Wilson very well but no one else has either. It hurts to tackle Hurts. He is like a fullback-quarterback player. Just contain him, keep them in 3rd an long.
  13. He tackles like my grandmother. No. Not in this kind of defense where safeties have play more like linebackers on run plays.
  14. I give Beane a B+ grade before the last draft and I still hold to that, although he is trending up. My player summary is much different than yours since I do not buy into the common opinions on fan boards. AJE - (2nd round) In a year with no #1 pick, always considered him a developmental project pass rusher, he was a diamond in the rough that has a pretty high ceiling if you can get him there. Bernard - (3rd round) Never ever labeled him a bust without seeing him play. I thought he was a Milano-like pick, same size and similar skill set. It is looking like he could be a star on the team. Benford - (6th round) He beat out Elam and Jackson last year for a starting spot. What is not to love about that from a 6th rounder? Great pick from the get go but it might also say something about our talent at corner as well. Shakir - (5th round) Diggs was a 4th rounder. It takes most receivers a few years to develop and get comfortable. Shakir is becoming a reliable slot guy that can get deep too. In the right scheme he will contribute. Cook - (2nd round) Pleasant surprise this season. I expected more last year and was disappointed, but looking back now the Dorsey offense has not kind to running backs. Kincaid - (1st round) Loved the pick. He is only going to get better. O'Cyrus - (2nd round) Loved the pick. Plug him in and enjoy a solid RG for 10 years. Oliver - (1st round) Has been an up and down player that shows sign of greatness when healthy. Good pick when looking at the board at the time, he is now paying off.
  15. It can never be improved? It is always fair and correct? Just accept it? This kind of thought would have kept us sleeping on the ground in caves. IF your not improving and getting better, then you are getting worse.
  16. I think we can beat the Eagles. Injuries on defense is the big concern right now.
  17. Can’t make up a flag on that.
  18. Grounding Mahommes. Call it
  19. That’s two late flags helping KC. Anything close goes to KC.
  20. Look at the all 22. He threw a great block on a TD play, he also rubbed out a defender on another touchdown. He does block well. It’s part of the game.
  21. Good first game. He did well against a tough defense. It took some pressure off that the Jets Offense is terrible and those early stalled drives did not come back to haunt. I like the way they used the RBs - Cook, Johnson and Murray I liked the use of TE's - Kincaid was excellent and they even targeted Morris I liked going to Shakir - maybe he emerges as the #2 in Brady's offense? Josh looked like he was having fun - look he can run and slide too. One game, good start. Philly will be tougher next week.
  22. What about Allen?
  23. I remember that game and that play.
  24. Except that he is the HC and responsible for all of it.
  25. Yeah, Maybe the offense wakes for a game because of the situation but I doubt the interim coach is going to make a major difference. Teams know what to do to stop us.
