  1. Signing legitimate starter quality free agents that we need? Holding on to player ansd coaches that can help us? Drafting players in positions that we need? Not making radical changes that do not fit the personnel that we have? So you actually want to build upon what was there rather than rebuild again?
  2. I still just wonder why Ralph did not want to even interview Marty Shottenhiemer? Ralph has some strange relationships with past players and coaches.
  3. The slants went right off of Stevie Boy Johnson's hands for an interception to end any chance we had of making yesterdays game a real game. We need players, not better plays.
  4. We ran the ball well for one series, then Green Bay adjusted and it was game over. We could have put Billy Shaw out there at LG and it would not matter, there are at least 5 players on our offense that are not good enough to be starters in the NFL (Edwards, Johnson, Stupar, Bell, and Green). We are that bad.
  5. Not the interview I heard on local radio here.
  6. Yes --- Trent should have talked to Johnson on the sideline. That is what leaders do. Trent is not a leader. Johnson not only missed the pass but he cut his pattern short, which is why he was stretching for a ball he should have caught on the run for a first down. There are so many problems on this team that it is hard to even comprehend them all. Johnson is not NFL starting caliber and neither is Trent, or Bell, or Meredith, or Green, or Stupar. Hangartner is marginal.
  7. Does that make sense? Did not like Buffalo and he wanted a longer deal? When he left St. Louis his tail was inbetween his azz. He was greatful to get a chance with Buffalo and he said so. I don't want to believe Twitter or Whitner, thank you. I think this was about money and he got a lot more from Miami. BTW -- he played very well against Buffalo too and he took every opportunity to get the extra push in after the play.
  8. Gailey was referring to Trent on the "who we are" and on the "excepting to lose" comments. Trent will get one more chance against NE. Spiller will play when he learns how to use his blocks. I am sticking with Gailey and Nix. They need some time to gut this beast.
  9. The talent on offense is actually worse this year. Hard to believe but consider this: RT Green is much worse than Brad Butler. WR Johnson is worse than TO and is not NFL starter caliber. Stupar is a third string TE and is worse than the schlump that started last year at TE. Trent is worse than ever. Meredith is a nightmare in his part time role as a LT. Have seen no development from Wood or Levitre yet. Drafting Spiller has not helped so far and we cannot play Spiller, Jackson and Lynch at the same time. Three starting RBs is a flawed concept. Drafting Easley and Wang brought nothing to the club this year.
  10. He understands it. 1. OL set up pocket and block for 4 seconds. 2. WR run proper pattern. 3. QB look off the pattern, pull safety away. 4. QB step up, OL maintain blocks - RB help if needed 5. QB accurately deliver the ball down field. Problem is we do not have players to execute steps 1, 3, 4 and 5. Evans can defintely do step 2.
  11. Please stop the excuses. Trent has had 3 years since that hit. Trent cannot play at NFL speed. That is the problem.
  12. Edwards was tossed by a Packer into the sideline camera guy when he was already clearly out of bounds. No flag from the zebras and no response from the Bills. Not one Bill did a thing or even talkedto the ref. The OL is a bunch of sissies. Eric Wood - where are you?
  13. Thanks for making me laugh!
  14. This year, just like the past few years, this team will lose faith in Trent Edwards and he will lose the team and get benched. Fitz will be the next to play and Fitz will do his very best given his limited tools and skills. Fitz will eventually get dinged up and Brohm will come in and look lost. Fitz will return. The season will end and we will be 3-13. Free Agency will start and everyone will dream of signing a big time free agent OT, or an impact player for the DL, or a high quality LB but instead we won't sign Jack Diddly Squat. We will probably lose one or two of the few decent players we have to free agency and create even more holes than we currently have (if that is even possible). We will then realize that we cannot draft enough good players to fill all the holes but we will be hopeful. The draft will be next and everyone will dream of drafting a QB and a LT in the first two rounds. We will debate on which QB and which tackle to take. We will even fight about adding a pass rusher instead. Mock drafts will be made and we will be selecting players in round 5 that will certainly be gone by round 2 or 3. Of course, once the real draft comes we will not have enough high draft picks to fill all the needs at QB, LT, RT, ILB, OLB, DL, WR and TE. We will then try to convince ourselves that minor free agency signings like Cornell Green (see Jonathan Scott, Kirk Chambers, Melvin Fowler, Trey Teague, Mike Gandy, Bennie Anderson, et. al.) will help us anyway. We will dream that some obscure 5th round draft choice will actually be the next Daryl Talley or Andre Reed, and that will happen instantly. We will cling to every move made in camp and in pre-season. We will worry about who gets cut and which UDFA makes the practice squad. All the while we will be thinking we are just 2 or 3 years away from a playoff team. That is the life of a Buffalo Bills fan for far too long now. (Wash, Rinse, Repeat)
  15. QB, OT, OLB, DL, ILB, WR, TE, and by the time we address all of those positions we will need DB and RBs. Lions and tigers and bears ... oh my.
  16. Ralph will not threaten. He has no need to threaten anyone. He will sell to the highest bidder and make a deal that leaves his wife and daughter with the best possible financial legacy, including whatever tax shelter is needed.
  17. Not a bad idea. Not buying tickets but tailgating anyway owuld be even better.
  18. There is no cap this season.
  19. Today is not my day. I was actually rooting for the Pats*. Now we are subject to a full week of listening to the national media fawn all over the Jets.
  20. I understand your pain. Mostly,I thought we would be better prepared and make better adjustments. Where is the glimmer of hope.
  21. Your taking crazy because Maybin cannot play the run.
  22. I watched this game in a Sports Bar and it was painful. Here are some comments from the game today: • The big debate seems to be whether the problem is Trent or the O-line? The answer is both. Trent will not make it through the season. We all hoped that Chan could help him make better decisions and help him get the ball down the field. So far we have not seen any improvement from last year. He may actually be worse. I cannot tell because the O-line is worse too. All I can tell for sure is that his days are numbered. • O-line – this group is pathetic, one of the worst in Bills history. We all knew they needed tackles. From last season they lost Butler and Scott and replaced them with Green and Wang. So far that is a step backwards. Wood has not impressed me so far. I watch him closely, with binoculars, against Miami and he is not moving anyone. Levitre got hurt today and was replaced with Cordaro Howard. I actually saw Howard make a few nice blocks. • Whitner dropped and interception that would have stopped Green Bay from getting 3 points. We have yet to force a turnover on defense. • In the 2nd quarter, when Trent was called for intentional grounding we had momentum. It looked like Green Bay could have been called for helmet to helmet contact on Edwards on the same play. • Lynch ran well in the 2nd quarter. By the fourth quarter the Packers were all over it. Not enough imagination in the game plan. What happened to playing two tailbacks and spreading them out? • Short passes --- I think every defense knows that they are coming. Time to move on and ghet the ball deep to Evans and Nelson. • On a 3rd and 2 Kelsey was asked to cover a WR who went deep. Andra Davis was abysmal in coverage as usual. Until we get some better linebackers 3rd down will be a challenge. • Pass rush was nonexistent for the second week. Even blitzes are not working. Our DC better figure this out soon. • Officiating – I thought that Edwards was pushed hard after he went out of bounds. He was pushed into a camera man and there was a big collision. No flag, no concern by the Bills. No Bills lineman coming to Trent’s rescue. Just try that with Tom Brady.
  23. Not a back pedal but when you call him a "GM Project" then you are questioning the Almighty Polian. Most people here think that Polian never made a mistake. My Bottom line is that I think Fina was good, not great. I do not think he sucked and I think he was far better than all the sad sack tackles we have now or for the entire past decade.
  24. Also worth noting is that Johnson stopped running on the play. It should have been a cahc and run and Johnson had room to get the first down. Johnson is just not NFL starter caliber. He is slow and barely good enough to be a journeyman in this league. To see him starting shows the sad state this team is in. The same goes for Edwards, Stupar, Bell, Green, Meredith, Kelsey, Ellis, Ellison, .... we have so many holes.
  25. Matthews embarassed Bell, and Green, and Wood and Meredith ... this is a very bad line.
