I said same- they designed a game plan to stop Spiller and did. They gambled that we were not going to kill them in the air and we didn't. There were a few nice passes that were brought back by penalties and Stevie dropped that one drive killer, otherwise their gamble may have lost. Their two scoring drives were also after we handed them some nice field position. I have not watched over again. I hate watching losses on replay. Time to focus on Panthers

Panthers fan analysis here
SF Bills Fan replied to Happy Panther's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know nothing of the Panthers other than Cam Newton is QB and that the D is good, so thanks for some insight. i think this will be a close game, as you said. I am hoping that EJ turns out to be a Cam Newton caliber player. We will have a little advantage with it being in Buffalo as it caused problems for Brady at times (fumble at the 1, for example). You should come up for the game, this is a great time of year to attend a Bills game in Buffalo. -
Jets or Pats* on TNF - can't decide
SF Bills Fan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pats- we want to get ahead of the Jets and need them to lose. I only will root for Pats in this type of scenario. -
I saw that 65k figure cited and knew there was a mistake. The stadium needs 71k for a sell out. My buddy at the game said he didn't see any empty seats. Is this week a sell out? Typically all the early games are regardless of opponent.

Clock management. It was odd to have a rookie first game qb run no huddle. I know we have the youth and the speed. But we don't have to prove it by playing no huddle all the time. In the fourth quarter we needed to eat the clock up. With 5:42 we coukd have taken it way down, run a measured offense and even close and a field goal was enough. oh we rookie coach will learn. Positives outweigh negatives today. I look for good rebound next week.

Per Bills text: EJ is probable

Is it certain I will be drinking heavily tomorrow? No. But it is definitely probable. I need to see what twitter says. -
Predictions - Bills v. New England*
SF Bills Fan replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The writer for the SF Chronicle says this is a trap game for the Pats and hates the 9 1/2 line especially with it in Buffalo. -
I went with flutie only because I think he is more of a running threat. that said, I think he is completely different than all of them.

Predictions - Bills v. New England*
SF Bills Fan replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is why I say no blowout. Brady can make alot happen with little, but they are pretty weak at receiver and the possibility of no Gronk should make it hard to really light it up even with a suspect Bills secondary. also, Pettine knows how to defend against Brady. They will see how much they miss Welker on Sunday. The accuracy level on people predicting a good buzz by halftime is going to be 100%. -

I think we will lose, but it won't be a blowout. 24-17 and Brady won't look spectacular. We will see some good things out of EJ and the defense. We will continue to improve through the season. -

I'm going to go with 99.5% -
I think Houston will be the team to beat. The Bengals will be serious contenders as will the Broncos if Manning has another great year. The Pats are starting their slide and I think the Ravens lost too many good players in the offseason, but should still be tough. The door is open for some younger teams to step up.

If you play in the NYC market, you will be a target. It's a huge risk-reward situation. If you perform well and win, you will be a god. If you do not, you will be mercilessly destroyed. The media picked on Manning at first, then he won two Superbowls and he is now great in their eyes. Sanchez was a media darling at first. He didn't win (anything big) so he is now relegated to NY Post punchlines. Imagine in this day and age what would happen to a guy like Namath? His boast was a big deal back then, but it would be magnified times a million today. If he lost, he would be run out of town. Buffalo is so low profile that failure is an option. Few will know.

Worst SuperBowl Winning team
SF Bills Fan replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Baltimore Ravens team that beat the Giants in 2000. I think they went on a 5-6 game stretch where they didn't even score a touchdown. The 9-7 Giants of recent years is also up there. The Pats team that beat the Rams was also mediocre at best- I think we all agree that their taping of the Rams practices gave them a big advantage. -

We are so effing cursed. I still want him starting. We needed this next game to continue what was an extremely promising pre season so far. -

Bills Least Valuable team in the NFL
SF Bills Fan replied to weehawk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
agreed- NFL teams have generally been reluctant to open the books. The Bills are highly secretive. I recall that many years ago, there was a peek at the books and it was noted that Ralph Wilson paid himself a huge salary as President of the team. Even without a new stadium, if the Bills sold naming rights and raised tickets prices by $10 across the board, they would move up several slots. -

It is interesting to note that Bills have a higher revenue figure than several teams ahead of them in larger markets. Even with the lowest ticket prices, they still do well. I like having the Bills valued lower, it will be easier for a local buyer to purchase them when the time comes. -
Hamstring is one of those nagging injuries that could be a problem well into the season

We are being served up to the Colts and Skins
SF Bills Fan replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The coverage seemed to be skewered toward Indy at the beginning, but I attribute to the fact that Indy was a playoff team and it was at their house. It was more balanced toward the end as the Bills were a bit of a surprise.
