I think this is all very natural. Yes, Beane has missed on picks, but so do all GMs. Spending money on two DEs the past two years after all the draft picks we put into those position isn’t a great look. But I’d argue his success rate is still pretty high.

I think we are heading for a partial rebuild after by 2025 and Beane is trying to win before that happens. I don't think we will be completely decimated and hopefully Beane is able to stockpile picks so we can get some cheap labor during the transition. By 2025, I would expect all of these players to be gone: Hyde Poyer Von Miller Diggs Morse While that doesn't seem like a lot, we also have the expiring contracts and players who may not have earned new deals. So overall, by 2025 we will need (if not already drafted a replacement) -RT, C, WR1, WR2, WR3, RB, DT 2, RE, LE, MLB, OLB, FS, SS That's more than half the roster

Knox seemed like an overpay at the time, and the Kincaid drafting doesn’t help. Now, if we commit to a two tight end set and both these guys eat, then great job Beane. But I somehow think we are still going to see a lot of FB and 3 Wr sets

I think this is smoke. He performed great when he came back. And I would challenge any of those execs to have their team single cover DHop and see how it goes for them

I get that. But if we are going to pay a guy 15 mil plus, then he should be the dominant force and make life easier for everyone else. I’m not coming at you, just the whole idea of paying him when he needs others to help him be great, but got that contract, bothers me a little.

I think there is some validity to what you're saying. However, I would add in how many games those players missed in their last 3 seasons, and what their production was in their last season. Hopkins doesn't have either of those concerns. I have no reason to believe he wouldn't make a huge impact to us. I'd like to see a 3 year deal, with a way out after 2
