  1. Stop what? The oline has been problematic for years. If you can't see that then I'm not sure how knowledgeable of a Bills fan you are. Allen is absolutely the reason why the offense is that highly ranked. He's that fricken good. You point to stats but omit the oline stats. Frankly, they are bottom tier. You can't have it both ways. If you don't like my criticisms then block me or gingerly skip over my posts. Being a Bills fan doesn't mean you can't criticize the team. I'm not talking this year. I don't know how the oline is going to perform. I'm concerned yet optimistic.
  2. No it's not. You are missing the point. The Bills oline over the last few years has been more a liability than an asset. That's just undeniable. To dismiss or imply that every team has oline issues is chicken shi!. The fact remains Beane, McD, and Kromer, scouts, players, etc...have failed to build an oline that's an asset. This year there are some new pieces so hopefully the oline is better. That's all that's available now. Still doesn't mean someone can't contribute to the team.
  3. His fall was so fast. I remember seeing him early on and thinking he was fantastic and elite. In those early games, his vision looked excellent and his pocket presence was good. Now, he can't move and throws some bad INTs. He's damaged goods for sure. Not sure what kind of NFL career he has left.
  4. He's replaceable.
  5. Agree but that's my point. The regime has had five years to solidify the oline. They shouldn't be a bottom tier oline. Every year there's significant issues with the oline. It's not a coincidence that Philly and KC were in the SB. They arguably have the best olines in the league. I know it's difficult to build a great oline. All teams strive to improve. Just feels like the Bills have fallen way to short here. Maybe this year will be much improved?
  6. It's not a matter of bashing Beane. That's not my objective. Beane has done a lot of good too. Hit a grand slam with Allen. Agree Torrence looks very good but let's see how he plays in regular season games.
  7. This is true but it only paints part of the correct picture Shaw. Improvement is very likely over years of experience. However, that improvement doesn't always equate to being effective, productive, and winning. Time and experience is just one variable to consider. More specifically, we don't know how good or bad Dorsey will be .
  8. Is he better than Kyle Allen?
  9. For me it's more than that. Not expecting a roster of all pro bowlers. What's disappointing is that the Bills oline still has major question marks. The oline doesn't even appear to be in the top 10. Granted the interior looks improved but it's still unproven and a work in progress. It's frustrating that Beane has had five plus years to really solidify the oline. I'd argue this Bills oline is a major reason why they haven't advanced further. As a result, it's hard for fans to get enthusiastic about a mediocre backup oline pick up. I get it it's necessary.
  10. Not to knit pick. No way was that Bengal game one big defensive play away from winning the game. More like 50.
  11. Following that train of thought. Look at the MLB position. Look at how they believed in Davis and McKenzie. Look at how they believed in Spencer Brown. The list goes on and on. The fact that "Bills Brass" believes in someone doesn't equate to success.
  12. I'm just tired of the years of AJE hype.
  13. I don't believe in AJE. Hope I'm wrong.
  14. Beane knows how to build a winning franchise. He can take a lower tier team and make them a playoff contender and more. He did it in Carolina and in Buffalo. It starts with the QB. Cam Newton and Josh Allen. Cam made a SB appearance. Hopefully, it's Allen's turn soon. I have my doubts but it can happen as Buffalo is still a top tier team and Allen is still young and elite.
  15. That would be a great deal!
  16. Boogie isn't very good. Why would there be interest in Boogie with all due respect. At least Beane cut his losses. Next on the list is AJE and Elam.
  17. Without a healthy Von I suspect the Bills pass rush will not be good enough. This season is mostly on the offense.
  18. I hear you. Yes it was. However, I expanded the topic. The topic was coach McD and his playing in incorrect players. That's just too micro of a discussion with regards to McD. I think it's prudent to discuss many other factors. Right or wrong that's what I did.
  19. Basham and AJE are more the reason why the Bills have been unsuccessful than successful. Let that sink in.
  20. I wouldn't get too enamored with the 6.5 sacks. He will show a flash here and there. He mostly is very inconsistent and definitely not reliable. He's shown us this for years. We all want him to breakout but it's just not going to happen. The guy isn't anything but a role player. Plenty of them everywhere. Many fans have been saying this year after year without success. AJE isn't that good, not reliable, and inconsistent. The Bills need to do better. As a fan, I'm tired of the AJE hype. I won't be disappointed when he's not in a Bills uniform. He won't get 10 sacks.
  21. I think that's splitting hairs sort of speak. As a fan, coach McD hasn't get it done. He has vastly underperformed in the playoffs. In fact, there's plenty of games the Bills just lost winnable games. There's ample examples of him and his coaching staff getting out coached by a large margin. That's just not acceptable. I think it more than fair and reasonable for Bills fans to question this coaching staff. Not implying you don't. Certainly, last years disappointing exit doesn't instill confidence. Last year wasn't an anomaly. In short, as a fan, the bottom line is McD has fallen short and that's what really matters. Just look at Stephen Diggs reactions the last few years after disappointing losses. This team needs a change. McD is a good team builder, good coach, and a nice guy. That muddies the water when it comes to change. The team can do worse but I truly believe they can do better. I get staying the course. I realize I'm in the minority here. However, I believe this knowledge fan base has lost a lot of objectivity when it comes to McD.
  22. AJE is what he is. He's not elite, he's not a game changer, he's average at best, and he's replaceable. I have no issues with him not being in a Bills uniform.
  23. I can say I don't trust him if 13 seconds is left in a huge playoff game. I can say I don't trust him come playoff time. You look at McD overall record in the playoffs and the evidence would suggest he overwhelming doesn't get it done come playoff time. When do fans start to question whether McD is the coach to get the Bills to advance further?
  24. I agree. We need depth at that position. Tre is getting older as well. The secondary is likely the strength of the defense especially if Poyer and Hyde are fully back. I think Benford is a bright young talent. Keep him.
  25. I appreciate the thread and the conversation. However, I highly doubt Benford will be traded and that he was being show cased as a starter. It's really not how the Bills operate. Benford has clearly outplayed Elam. The coaches have much more confidence in Benford. I'd be very surprised by if he's not the starter vs the Jets. Lastly, I don't think he's trade value is the greatest. Sure teams would be interested but they would use his latter round draft pick as a negative. Elam actually may have more trade value as a first round pick. In the right system, Elam could be good. In short, I believe the Bills will carry both CBs. Benford was a great pick and a Elam looking not so great. Perhaps he can develop. I think much of his issues are the Bills system and perhaps a slow learner. He has shown flashes of being very good in man coverage. He seems to have a lot of skill that's not polished. Almost like putting a square peg in a wooden circle.
