  1. Jets just got better. Can't deny that.
  2. You think the offense was flawless last year? Are you trying to imply the Bills offense can't improve? Surely you aren't... How about limiting turnovers, possessing the ball more and thus limiting other offenses opportunities, being more balanced and even harder to stop, less reliance on Allen running the ball, improved RedZone offense, and scoring more than 10 points in the biggest home playoffs game in decades. I agree. Allen is special but I believe the Bills have to try to be a little more diverse. It's been widely stated in football circles that the Bills have been overly dependent on Allen. A solid run game only makes Allen that much more dangerous. I'd argue close to unstoppable.
  3. Maybe Dorsey stays more committed to the run this year. I wouldn't hate a more balanced attack. Would really be difficult for opposing defenses to stop.
  4. He is still a very good back up. He can get the tough yards, convert short yardage runs for first downs, and score TDs in the red zone. It's a nice pick up for NE. Still they are behind the talent curve in the AFC East. However, they won't be an easy out either.
  5. Another words, cover up for the weakness at MLB. Good teams in the playoffs will absolutely exploit the weaknesses of another team. You can run but you can't hide. Luke Kuechly where are you?
  6. He will be near the bottom. He's just not that good in my eyes.
  7. The MLB position is a huge concern. They all look like backups to me and some not even be quality backups.
  8. Great post! I myself am perplexed by the Bills situation at the MLB position. Not one of those guys looks to be remotely close to starter material. Hard to believe Beane can't see that. Hard to believe they are going to trot out such an inferior player. Maybe I'm wrong here. Sure seems like a big hole in the middle of the Bills D.
  9. I'm think Gabe Davis mid season could be a viable trade. A lot has to go right and wrong for it to happen. If he plays very well the Bills will likely be looking at a big contract to pay. Also, they might need him to make a big run at the SB. Unlikely he gets traded in this scenario. If Gabe plays poorly then there's a better chance he might get traded but for less value. If Gabe plays solid, decent, or average then the door is wide open for trade opportunities. I suspect this is the most likely occurrence.
  10. Agree but that didn't mean that either defense couldn't have made a big play. I'm pretty sure you still had hope even after the Bills lost the coin toss.
  11. I hear you. Very valid data and analysis. I just can't get out of my mind how a one legged QB led his team to the SB. Along the way he beat an upcoming team and an elite and dangerous Cincinnati team. How he shredded the elite Philly D. I may be wrong but I'm pretty convinced Mahones and Reid will excell no matter who their WRs are. Don't overlook how good their oline is. That's really a key piece to their success. Can we say the same for the Bills? Agree 100 percent on your coaching comments.
  12. The Bills defense could have held the Chiefs to a FG. That's what I was hoping for real time. Or even better the Chiefs would go for it on 4th down and miss. Sure it was a huge asking for the Bills D. In real time, I was hoping the D could make a big play. The Bills D looked scared, timid, and playing not to lose. As a result, Hill made a huge play and crushed Bills fans. One for the history books!
  13. If memory serves me correctly the Bills still had a chance to win the game in OT. The vaunted and highly ranked Bills defense gave up a TD. Never giving the Bills O a chance. This is often a forgotten fact. Bottom line is the Chiefs won. They followed that up with a SB win a last year. They deserve the accolades.
  14. Davis has been hyped up for several years now. After last season, I have to see Davis perform at a higher level as the WR2. I am not particularly encouraged by the TC hype.
  15. That's fair. I took it a step further. If I can continue that theme. Whose offense at do you trust more come playoff time? For me, it's KC all day everyday. They are the proven commodity. I didn't think KC could shred that Eagle defense like that. How did the #1 and #2 ranked Bills defense do come playoff time the last few years? Don't get lost in the stats. Bills O vs the Bengals D? The Chiefs will gladly take regular season losses to the Bills. It will gladly accept the Bills being the statistically better ranked O. Come playoff time, the Chiefs know how to beat the Bills. They could careless what the stats say or the regular season.
  16. I agree Scott. The oline looks to be improved but still not solidified, excellent, or elite. It's probably the biggest failure of the Beane regime. I'm hopeful it's good enough to make a deeper run.
  17. I got that and I don't dispute the KC WR group looks weaker than last year. That's not really the point I'm making here. I'm trying to imply that KC's offense will be excellent primarily due to Mahomes and Reid's play calling. I think it's plug and play for lots of the receivers. A bit simplistic but I think it's accurate at the same time. Look at what happened when they lost Tyreke Hill who happens to be one of the best NFL WRs in the game. They didn't miss a beat and won a SB. Most knowledge football fans thought the Chiefs would dearly miss Hill. In short, Mahomes and Reid can make average to below average WRs shine and get them to produce. Lastly, look at the Chiefs WR core last year. They were below average on paper. This year is similar. Also, your premise that Kelce is older and due to regress is unfounded. There is no evidence the guy is going to regress. Sure it's possible but it's equally possible he still can't be stopped. I still think he's a beast this season; especially playoff time. I don't see the Bills stopping him! Don't get caught up in the talent at the WR position with the Chiefs. Focus more on Mahones and Reid and their abilities to excell. Their system of mixing the pass and run. Keeping defenses off balanced. (look how they shredded that elite Eagle defense) They are winners and the best in the game! Think Brady/Belichick if you will. For years, Brady had below average WRs and still excelled. Come playoff time, the Chiefs will be ready. In short, the Chiefs have the best coach, GM, and QB in the league. They look like a dynasty team. A team the Bills have been chasing for years...
  18. Because there are several question marks that are still unanswered. How will Cook play going into his 2nd year? Can Harris stay healthy? Which WR steps up besides Diggs? How will rookie Kincaid contribute? How will the oline gel together? Will Dorsey become a dynamic play caller? Will the Bills commit to the run game? Can they effectively run the ball? Can the offense avoid serious injuries,? Can back ups contribute and not be huge liabilities? Will Allen still be running the ball a lot? Are implying that a top 5 offense is bad? I'm just not ready to say the Bills offense is going to be #1 in the NFL. Sure it's possible. Thus, I went the safer route to say they will be a top 5 offense so long as Allen stays healthy. I don't think that's unrealistic or a bad thing. Hope that clarifies my post.
  19. Not sure why you think KC' s offense isn't as strong? Mahomes really didn't have much last year and they won it all. To boot, Mahomes was playing on one leg. I think KC come playoff time will be probably the most dangerous team come playoff time. Mahomes, Kelce, and Andy Reid are just at another level. Clearly, the best of the best. I'll go one step further and say Mahomes could challenge Brady's record. Reid might be the next Bill Belichick. They sure look special to me.
  20. Great post and optimism. This year's offense could really be special if some guys step up. At this point, we know what we have in Allen. A franchise QB and one of the best In the NFL. This is why I believe expectations are so high. Is this team bordering on SB appearance or disappointment? Is that fair? As for myself, I won't be happy or satisfied with another early playoff exit? Interested to hear others views.
  21. I wouldn't go that far. That's a stretch. The K Gun offense was ridiculously good. Thurman was virtually unstoppable. No one on this team comes close to him. That oline puts this year's oline to shame. This offense can be damn good. Top 5 in the league no doubt. The real question is can they produce in the playoffs vs other elite teams? There are some concerns with the offense too. Oline, besides Diggs the WR core lacks eliteness. Can Cook step up? Harris stay healthy. Is there a rookie curve for Kincaid? Lastly, what kind of Dorsey do the Bills get on offensive play calling? The money in the bag is Allen. He alone likely makes the offense a top 10 offense at minimum. He gives the Bills many wins and a likely playoff birth. He's just that good. A little more support by others and the Bills can go further. That includes solid coaching as well. Something that's been lacking come playoff time.
  22. Should we do a back pain thread? Likely to have lots of responses.
  23. My pain is manageable. I'm still able to work out with light weights and run on the treadmill. What works for me is daily exercise, proper sleep, keeping my weight down, going to chiropractor once a month, and prayer. Once in a while I'll have to take ibuprofen. However, everyday there is some amount of pain. Usually around a 2 or 3 on a scale of 10. I'm 59 so my body has wear and tear. At some point, I will be likely need more evasion solutions. I'm putting off the knife for as long as I can. Currently, the pain level and it's negative ramifications don't outweigh the surgical risks. Thanks for listening.
