  1. AJE is what he is. He's not elite, he's not a game changer, he's average at best, and he's replaceable. I have no issues with him not being in a Bills uniform.
  2. I can say I don't trust him if 13 seconds is left in a huge playoff game. I can say I don't trust him come playoff time. You look at McD overall record in the playoffs and the evidence would suggest he overwhelming doesn't get it done come playoff time. When do fans start to question whether McD is the coach to get the Bills to advance further?
  3. I agree. We need depth at that position. Tre is getting older as well. The secondary is likely the strength of the defense especially if Poyer and Hyde are fully back. I think Benford is a bright young talent. Keep him.
  4. I appreciate the thread and the conversation. However, I highly doubt Benford will be traded and that he was being show cased as a starter. It's really not how the Bills operate. Benford has clearly outplayed Elam. The coaches have much more confidence in Benford. I'd be very surprised by if he's not the starter vs the Jets. Lastly, I don't think he's trade value is the greatest. Sure teams would be interested but they would use his latter round draft pick as a negative. Elam actually may have more trade value as a first round pick. In the right system, Elam could be good. In short, I believe the Bills will carry both CBs. Benford was a great pick and a Elam looking not so great. Perhaps he can develop. I think much of his issues are the Bills system and perhaps a slow learner. He has shown flashes of being very good in man coverage. He seems to have a lot of skill that's not polished. Almost like putting a square peg in a wooden circle.
  5. Wow. It looks like the Bills need a back up QB badly. Does anyone think Allen or Barkley are serviceable if Josh goes down? Or does Beane have to make a move?
  6. Is that really the mindset a team has when they draft a player in the first round at pick number 23? To boot, the Bills moved up to get him. You want immediate impact players and he's been anything but that. Yes, he's young and has time to improve. No one knows how good or bad he will be. What's clear is he's been a huge disappointment. Can't really dispute that. Benford was a great pick and that mitigates the Elam situation.
  7. I'm starting to wonder if McD will be calling the defensive plays. Reports are he didn't call the defensive plays during the pre season. That strikes me as kind of odd. Anyone have insight on this?
  8. I don't think the window is shut. The Bills have absolutely squandered a few good years of opportunities. It's been a myriad of reasons why. A healthy Allen in his prime clearly keeps the window open. However, I think it's fair to say the gap between other teams and Buffalo has closed or been increased. I still think you have to give Buffalo the nod for the division and a playoff birth. Advancing further seems to be getting more unlikely or at least more difficult. There's lots of reasons to be optimistic and pessimistic if that makes sense. More specifically, the Bills vs the Jets is a really tough ask. Lots of difficult factors the Bills have to overcome. Last year during the regular season the team really showed a lot of heart. Winning several close games that they lost in the past. I waiver back and forth on who is going to win the game. Initially, I picked the Jets because of the home field advantage, their defense, and Rodgers' experience. I'm still leaning NYJ. The betting public is pounding the Bills who are now at -2.5.
  9. What I liked is Allen hitting the quick short passes. Something we didn't see enough of last year. Mixing up the passing game will make this offense lethal.
  10. No need for me to call him. He knows he has a huge weakness at MLB. He's on the phone right now trying to upgrade the position. He just told me he's inquiring to see if Cornelius Bennett is available on the cheap due to cap space. Although it's a long season, the Jets opener should give us a nice measuring stick.
  11. I agree but he might be the best the Bills have there. At least he's a good run stuffer. The others seemingly aren't good at anything.
  12. Unfortunate, but he isn't very good either. No biggie in my eyes. I don't know who is out there at MLB. The Bills have to do something. Right? Can they possibly go into this season with any of these guys on the roster?
  13. My thoughts so far. Offense: Bills have upgraded their RB and WR position from last year. Jury is still out on the Oline. The back up QB position is very bad. Defense: MLB is a disaster in the works. Have no idea how the Bills can hide this weakness. Poona has been a huge disappointment. If AJ and Boogie continue to improve the pass rush will be solid especially with Von' s return. Special teams seems to be a little concerning this pre season. I'm not knowledgeable enough to say if it's an indicator of poor play in the regular season.
  14. Maybe sits out the whole season. The Bills need him for the playoffs.
  15. I did say that. We all have ways to protect ourselves. McD never threw Fraizer under the bus. It was very subtle how he shielded himself from criticism. Now he's the DC and he removed the shield sort of speak. I believe he knows the urgency to advance further. He's banking on himself. You can't hate that.
  16. I feel that way but I also think his time has pretty much ended here. The guy is a class act and has Buffalo built in his bones sort of speak. He's more than a football coach. He built a great team and culture. Football has been enjoyable since his arrival. He deserves lots of credit. However, all good things come to an end. I think he's sort of lost his spark, his effectiveness, and not sure he can get the team further. I'd rather get some new blood in the building like Ben Johnson. No disrespect to McD. How can you dislike the guy? Still pissed about 13 seconds but it doesn't negate all the good. Hope that makes sense.
  17. The Bills have primarily been a finesse team than physical. But now the Bills have Torrence a mountain of a man. Not so soft anymore.
  18. There's no better leader and coach for the Buffalo Bills than McD. He's a class act, a winner, a religious man, a great coach, teacher of life, etc... He built a winner and a class organization in Buffalo for 6 years. The Bills are fortunate to have such a man.
  19. I wouldn't be surprised if Dorsey shines this year. He will be a head coach soon.
  20. What's all this talk about? The Bills roster is solid. Beane has built a great team surrounded by a great coach and assistants. Folks no need to make drastic changes. No panic, concern, or worries. Beane and McD have built a helluva team. Top 5 in the league. Many here are are concern mode. Sure I get it but I also have 6 years of greatness in Beane and McD. They know more than the fans. Morse is solid. He is a nice piece to the already strong Buffalo oline.
  21. It's not like McGovern is elite. The pieces are there so long as the back ups don't get injured. The Bills are more vulnerable at the tackle position. If Brown or Dawkins go down then I'd be more concerned. Even then, Beane has a solid plan for that too. Almost everyone in the league has oline concerns. Remember, number 17 can make up for a lot.
  22. The oline should be fine. Kromer is damn good and Beane knows what he's doing. Not a big deal if McGovern goes down. The Bills are deep in that position. Smash the Jets! Trust the process. Kromer is an excellent coach and Beane has solidified the oline.
