  1. It's been six years and counting. I just don't think Allen will suddenly start taking care of the ball and sliding. Nothing indicates this will happen! Allen is feast or famine; mostly feast. There will be games he just gives away each year. Allen isn't going to change folks.
  2. You can't discount or ignore his 83 yard run. I mean that's like saying Allen played pretty good if you don't take into account his 4 turnovers.
  3. Not to be a sour puss here. Yes the defense looked good. There was a lot to like about what transpired. However or but...The Bill played the Jets. Arguably one of the worst offenses in the league without Rodgers. At the very least a bottom tier offense. They also suck at protecting the QB and Wilson sucks. Lastly, Breece Hall's first game back off major injury. That's not insignificant. When the game was on the line the defense failed to stop Wilson for the go ahead TD. That's not insignificant. Yes, I liked a lot of what I saw but it also has to be put into proper perspective. Let's not get carried away with the defense. Giving up an 83 yard run is unacceptable. That's not insignificant. There was plenty that needs to be cleaned up. The jury is still out on whether this D can contain a top flighted offense. I will say the defense didn't blow the game. Allen single handily lost the game.
  4. Hall looked good.
  5. Personally, I think this is the wrong mindset and attitude to have. Just my opinion. Not attacking you or anyone else. Why do I say this? Bills fans including myself were used to years of disappointment and medicity or worse. This leads to accepting any kind of moderate success. The playoffs was the goal. Is that still the goal? As a result, McD success is heralded as almost god like. He gets free passes and the benefit of the doubt. He's not held accountable for anything. Not even 13 seconds. The media never asks him difficult questions. McD can get away with anything. He can really do no wrong. I swear Bills fans have seen him walk on water The fan mindset is you can do worse. He's pretty good. He turned around the franchise. He's competent. I'm grateful for what he's done. Better than the past? All true but it's the wrong mindset now. Now it's about a killer mindset, closing the deal, having a swagger and arrogance, being a badass, believing you are going to win, and hosting the Lombardi. IMHO , right or wrong McD treats football as a game. He prioritizes family, God, and being a solid citizen more than football. Not saying he's wrong but that mindset doesn't lead to nasty on the field. It doesn't prioritize football as number one. Football is a job in your life. That mindset inhibits change when change is needed. Accepting repeated failures without seeing improvement leads to more failures. Making excuses for failures enhances future failures. Instead, we fans should be asking is McD capable of leading this team to the SB? What changes has he made to correct his past weaknesses? How does he game plan in the big games? How does he coach in the playoffs. In game adjustments? Clutch time does he execute and lead his team to victory? Look at the his six years of playoff history with the Bills. Seriously address those questions. Lastly, I ask everyone what do you see in McD that makes you think he can lead this team to a SB? Is it his great coaching? His motivation factor? His ability to lead men on the football field. The clapping and optimistic words? His culture building? His Christianity ? His coaching experience? The Andy Reid analogy just doesn't cut it. Please state your case for McD. I'm all ears.
  6. There's little doubts in my mind. Look at the history of McD playoff history. 4- 5 record and numerous gaffs! Out coached by a country mile. No need to elaborate because we all know what we saw. Not sure what else you have to see to make a determination he's not the guy. Shorter another Beane wasted draft pick?
  7. You think McD "is the guy?" Curious to get your take.
  8. I'm not advocating acquiring Taylor. That would be a collosal mistake. We will disagree about the skill positions being top 10. I don't see it and frankly it's not really close.
  9. Another medicine WR isn't going to change much. He's better than our WR3 but not by much. Not enough to pull the trigger and give up anything. The Bills really needed Zay Flowers in their roster. That guy has speed and explosiveness galore. The Bills have no one like him in the roster. Missed opportunity to draft him.
  10. Ben Johnson! He's turned Geoff into a nice QB. Geoff hasn't thrown an INT in over 340 passes. I think this is an NFL record. He was turnover friendly with the Rams. The guy will properly utilize the running game and RBs too. I'd take him over McD all day everyday. He's the exact type of offensive guy the Bills needed. I think I would have to check my pants.
  11. Maybe 30 targets.
  12. Agree but the Bills need a much improved Oline and more explosive weapons. The offensive roster from top to bottom is just okay. Without a dynamic Allen it's probably much below average at all positions. Really evaluate each position: RB, WR, TE, and Oline. Are any of them top 10 material? Then put in Dorsey for good measures. This offense only goes as far as Allen takes us. It's 80 percent on him. He knows it and that's why he plays Superman. I think he feels the pressure.
  13. True and got tackled by a wind gust and a finger nail grab.
  14. I've been saying this for two years. No need for pats on the back here. I'm just pleased others are finally starting to see it too. Soft is a good word to use. I got crucified for comparing this team to the Chargers. How ironic after week one both teams indeed couldn't finish their games.
  15. I just think many can see the writing on the wall sort of speak. Of course we Bills fans will hope for the best and still cling to the idea of winning it all. As each season passes under this regime it seemingly looks like that's not going to happen. At the very least blown opportunities to reach their goal. Yesterday was a blunt illustration of this. That's how I feel and i don't need a xanax either.
  16. He's serviceable.
  17. Incorrect assumption. I was cheering for the Bills the whole time without exception. The bet wasn't even an afterthought. I would gladly have taken $100 loss for a Bills win. I bet with my head not my heart. All good bettors know this. The team has had long term issues in the trenches. The team lacks explosive game changers on offense. The team gets out coached on a consistent basis. The team only goes as far as Allen takes them. Nothing was more clear than that last night. Side note: If the offense continues to under perform will McD look to fire Dorsey?
  18. I'm not on any crusade. I give criticism and praise as I see it. I was plenty optimistic and giving praise to the Bills in the live first half thread. I thought it was a fairly successful first half under the circumstances. Not perfect but acceptable and a good. If I were in such a "crusade" I wouldn't have done such. It doesn't give me pleasure to criticize the Bills. I don't get any pleasure out of a Bills' loss, correct prediction, or a correct bet. My ultimate goal as a fan is to see a Lombardi Trophy hoisted by Bills players. To see a town turned upside down with euphoria. To celebrate as a Bills fans with other Bills fans. As a Bills football fan, there will always be a void until that happens.
  19. Finally, a realistic view about the Bills coaching staff. Actually, I'm shocked it came out of your mouth. It's pretty refreshing and I appreciate your candor. The Dline surrounded huge running plays. I bummed knee prevented Hall from taking it to the house. I suspect the Bills will have difficulty stopping the run again.
  20. Agree. The Bills offense lacks explosiveness. No one fears the Bills offensive weapons. Diggs is the only viable game changer. Cook to light in the as$, Davis a one trick pony, Kincaid still too raw and young, Knox too slow, Harty and Sherwood averages Joe's, Murray and Harris serviceable at best, The Bills offensive roster isn't that impressive. Couple that with an oline that's questionable. The offense is on Allen and pretty much always has been. The only time he really had a solid more complete offense was with Diggs, Beasley, and Brown. The believe the oline was better too.
  21. Not many are saying what you imply. It's not doom and gloom after one game. Your mockery of Bills criticism isn't doing a service here nor is it productive. But hey if it makes you feel better have at it The real issue with validity is how the Bills lost not that they lost. Perhaps that too abstract for you to understand? I'll finish the rest of what you left out. And likely fizzle out in the playoffs again. You will see this as a successful season too. How did I do?
  22. Really good post here. I'm a big Allen fan but this post hit home.
  23. So much better they lost to a Jets team without Aaron Rodgers. Let that sink in. The same issues from last year presented itself last night. Watch last year's game and yesterday's game. The similarities are there. The oline wasn't good! The D can't give up huge plays like that! The Bills offense besides Diggs did nothing impressive. No major weapons or big plays. Kincaid was OK and looks promising. But it was not game changing or significant. His impact was nil. Cook looked decent but he can't shed a tackle. Too light in the ass. Teams aren't afraid of him but do they game plan for him. Allen was horrible in the second half. Up there with one of his poorer performances. Pretty concerning for a franchise QB. That is pretty inexcusable when the underneath throws were there all night. The pass rush looked good but the jury is still out. How consistent can it be? The Jets oline pass protection is poor. The Jets offense is bottom tier. The back up QB still made big plays in key situations to beat the Bills. For the must part the D held there own The loss isn't on them. I see things a lot differently then you. Not a bad thing. I just have a really difficult time being optimistic after last night. PS: I thought the Bills would still win the game after they won the OT coin toss. I was optimistic about an OT win. Agree with everything but the Diggs take. Perhaps slightly true but Allen has always forced the ball to Diggs. That's nothing new here.
