  1. Not of fan of this guy. But damn he's fast and scary on the football field. He's had some big games vs Buffalo.
  2. Yes the oline looks much better. That's very encouraging. Bills catch a huge break because I think Phillips is out for tomorrow's game. The offense still looks like it's a work in progress. Its kind of like watching paint dry. Slow, methodical, and lacking big chunk plays. On the other hand, the Fins can score in a blink of an eye. Interesting contrast of offense. I don't believe either defense will be effective shutting down the opposing offenses.
  3. He better tackle well tomorrow. The Bills LBs are going to have to tackle Mosert and Achane. A mediocre Josh is likely not going to get a Bills win.
  4. I was listening to Cosell talking about the Bills offense. He was asked about Fangio's defensive strategy vs Buffalo. He stated that the Bills offense isn't difficult to plan for like the Miami offense. That was kind of a reality check. He stated the Bills offense is pretty straight forward. He did say that doesn't mean Buffalo won't score points. He did say Allen makes big plays. He elaborated to say that the Bills offense is more execution oriented. I thought the whole discussion was rather interesting to hear.
  5. That's just one aspect of the Miami's offense. Miami uses motion to get their offensive players a head start. It's very hard to combat their speed especially when the defensive players are basically standing still.
  6. Baltimore never had quality WRs. Hill and Waddle are one of the best 1-2 WR combos in the league. Mosert and Achane have elite speed. Baltimore only had Lamar and Andrews. Big difference.
  7. I think this is a great idea. Elam isn't being used and isn't a fit. He's useless on the bench or inactive list. I'd give Bateman a shot to excell with Allen.
  8. I had to laugh last game. Gabe almost never hauls in contested pass. That game he caught a contested ball on the sidelines. I had to do a double take. Low and behold he was out of bounds. I agree 100%. As a fan, I don't need stats to back up what my eyes see. I see an underwhelming WR2 who lacks consistency.
  9. I'm all for Gabe being a WR3. He has great chemistry with Josh. He would be a very good WR3. I secretly was hoping the Bills were going to get Locket when the rumors were swirling he might be available. Obviously, Seattle retained him. I just not sure who is going to be available mid season worth picking up. Mike Evans cones to mind but not sure on his status. JuJu isn't someone I'd like to see in a Bills uniform. No NFL team in their right mind would trot out Davis as a WR1.
  10. You said it all right here "he was an average to slightly below average WR2." I want more than that from the WR2 position. Besides the big KC game Gabe's inconsistent play has been problematic. Also, Davis has one of the best QBs in the league throwing him the ball and an elite WR1 on the team. This in all likelihood helps him in the stat books. Can you imagine Davis' numbers with an average QB throwing him the ball? I'm not going to apologize for saying the Bills need to upgrade the WR2 position. I was hoping Kincaid was going to be that guy. After three games, it's pretty clear Kincaid isn't being utilized as such. Pretty disappointing early in the season. Like I said previously, I'm fine with him being a WR3/4. Pay him as such.
  11. I have four years of Gabe's body of work. It speaks for itself. I don't need this season's 3 game sample as a reference. Of course, I don't know the future of Davis as a Bill. My statement wasn't a statement of fact. It was an opinion which your correctly pointed out. I wouldn't mind seeing Davis as a WR 3 or 4 at a reasonable salary for that type of player.
  12. I'm afraid he doesn't have much. Sure looks like he's still raw and learning on the job. He might be a good OC in the future. Right now, I think he's more of a liability than an asset. He lacks creativity and innovative. The Bills in the mist of a super bowl window shouldn't be testing the waters with a OC like Dorsey.
  13. This really only tells part of the picture. A half truth if you will. Gabe's numbers you refer to are a three game sample. Can't the same logic be used with regards to the others? You can't have your cake and eat it too. In this fans eyes Gabe is a mediocre WR2. He's cheap now and that's significant because Beane is up against a tight cap. He certainly isn't worthy of big money come next year. It would be a huge mistake if Beane allocates big money here. Gabe is 100% replaceable. I disagree that a won't be easy to upgrade the position. I disagree that getting better WR2 would only be a slight upgrade. Come playoff time Diggs will likely get taken right out of the game. That's largely because Gabe isn't a very good WR2. He has a limited route tree and can't sperate quickly. That's pretty much indisputable. The KC game was anomaly. The guy very rarely wins contested passes and has some issues with drops. Disappears in many games or is unproductive. In short, he's not consistent or reliable as a WR2. His best asset is breaking off routes and Allen finding him. I watch Addison and Flowers and say damn I wish they were in a Bills' uniform. Beane could have moved up to get one of them. Evans or DHop were possible alternatives as well. Next year, there will be more choices. The opportunity will be there to upgrade the position. Lastly, I'd argue with strong validity that Allen makes Gabe successful. Not vice versa. Gabe would be an absolute fill in with a mediocre QB throwing him the ball. An upgrade to the WR2 position would be huge for the Bills offense. When you paint the whole picture one can only conclude that this will be Gabe's last year in a Bills uniform.
  14. Harty and Sherfield certainly don't seem to be great pieces either. In short, the Bills WR core is not dynamic, explosive, or elite. Pretty disappointing thus far. I'd be surprised if Davis reaches those numbers. We will see I've seen enough to move on from Davis. The Bills need an upgrade for sure. The only way is advocate for keep Davis is on the cheap due WR3 pay. That's what he is.
  15. Jordan Love is nothing special in my eyes.
  16. Hope you had him in the 1.5x spot.
  17. The more I see the Lions the more I like Ben Johnson. His play calling is really good. Mixes in the run and pass well. Does a good job on play action too. He makes Geoff look good. Then I come back to reality and examine Dorsey. Oh boy...
  18. I think that's unlikely because Tua gets rid of the ball so quickly. 80% of Tua's throws are to his first read. That's crazy high and shows the Miami schemes are working. The Bills defense needs to try to confuse Tua and take away his first read. That's when he will make mistakes, Bills players can deflect ball, and create turnovers. Easier said than done. One thing perhaps getting overlooked is the running game for both teams. Mosert and Achane can take it to the house at any moment. The Bills already gave up a huge run this year. Brian Robinson was running well until they got too far behind. Cook should be able to find holes in that Miami defense. The Oline should be able to create some holes. I feel Cook is really close to breaking a big one. The run game will only make each passing game that much more effective. Question: Which Bills offensive players step up besides Diggs?
  19. That score would shock me
  20. I'll start out the thread. Big early game vs a division rival who are undefeated. The Bills loss to the Jets could come back to haunt the them. Now on to the game. Miami is probably the best offense in the league right now. They are running on a different level. Their overall speed is unmatched. McDaniels knows how to exploit defenses. All it takes is seconds and a missed tackle. With that said, I don't think this Bills defense can contain and stop the Miami offensive juggernauts. Hill is a know Bill killer. Mosert gashed the Bills last year and now add in a track like RB named Anchane. Waddle is back as well. Too many weapons for the Bills defense to defend. Too much speed for the Bills to overcome. The dolphins will score at least 30 points here. On to the Bills offense. The Dolphins defense is improved under Fangio. Nevertheless, the Bills should be able to move the ball on Miami. A key will be how effective are they in the red zone. Allen needs to be elite. No big mistakes. I think this is a game where the Bills can throw deep and make longer passes and chunk plays. Diggs will have a big game as well as Cook. Allen has been successful playing Fangio defenses. I believe in the Bills offense. Dorsey must be creative. I have this game as a coin flip. Bills 34. Miami 31
  21. Thanks. Do you think that's good strategy for the Bills? Bend but don't break. Then get tough inside the red zone.
  22. I didn't watch their game vs NE. I see they scored 24 points. Anyone know what BB did to slow them down?
  23. I think what's not being talked about enough is the Miami schemes and motion. They are very creative and create mismatches and perhaps confusion. Couple that with their speed, a competent run game, and Tua's ability to throw quickly. That's a tough problem for any defense. I'm no defensive coordinator but last year I saw the Charger D dominant the Miami O. Their DBs were very physical at the line of scrimmage. Bumped the Miami WRs continuously. I don't think the Bills have the personell to do this effectively. Secondly, I think you have to clog the middle of the field. Make Tua beat you outside the numbers. Easier said then done with the best 1-2 WR in the league. Thirdly, the Bills have to tackle. Miami lives off of the YAC. A missed tackle can lead to a TD. The Miami explosiveness at the skill positions is off the charts. I'm really looking forward to this game. It has so many interesting facts. What kind of Allen do the Bills get? Can the Bills D rattle Tua and create some turnovers? Cook vs Mosert usage and productivity could be crucial to each offense. Fangio defense? McD vs McDaniels? Great early test for both teams.
