Can’t blame the refs when you turn it over 3 times. This is pretty damning though, and it’s not just Hochuli. Bills have been called for the most holds in the NFL and are tied for the fewest holds against their opponents. 13 to 1.

I don’t think there’s any concern about whether or not the Bills will be a good team this year. I think most of the concern stems from the fact that we haven’t seen anything yet to make us think that this team will be any better than the ones that have fallen short in previous years. Good news is we can still beat anyone, just need it to happen 3-4 times in a row in the playoffs.

Maybe, but personally the thought “if only our passing game had been better” never crossed my mind after losing the AFCCG last year.

I think a lot of it is scheme. The secondary still isn’t getting beat deep very often cause they’re still playing soft coverage as if our pass rush is still not good, allowing a ton of short easy completions. Now that the pass rush is much better they should be playing more aggressive coverage because the DL is heating up QBs and forcing them to get the ball out quicker. Our coverage and pass rush are just not complimentary at all.

Because people will label DTs as a certain technique based on their play style against the run even though the different “techniques” are just where they lineup. Deone is more of a penetration style player so he’ll get called a 3T even though he lines up mostly at 1T. Just like Ed mostly lines up at 3T but he’s often the one dropping his knee against a double team.

Because we’re a run heavy team with two great blocking TEs in Hawes and Knox. Shakir and Kincaid have played 77% and 61% of the passing snaps respectively. I’d like to see Kincaid’s number tick up but it’s not as bad as the total snap counts make it seem.

Nice to see him already taking on double teams better these last 2 games. He struggled with that a lot during the preseason.

Knox has been amazing as a blocker this year, but I agree he’s still overpaid.

Partially yeah. I remember being hype seeing multiple times that he was winning against Benford. In hindsight it’s not as impressive seeing how Benford has played this year.

Epenesa and Bosa have both been great rushing the passer this year. If Ed can provide the interior rush we’ve been lacking the sacks could start piling up.

Probably has something to do with the increasing number of indoor stadiums as well. Would be interesting to see a split of FG% from 50+ and/or 60+ yards in the different stadium types.

Bringing in a former guy because of injuries midseason doesn’t bother me too much. Signing all those former guys during the offseason was really annoying though. Our practice squad is basically becoming a pension program for washed up former Bills.
