Rumor: Trade up discussion with Giants
PIZ replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're not alone. I think it will be Rudolph at 12, but I think when its all said and done, they stay at 12. Way too many holes and I don't think in 2 or 3 years, there will be a big difference between the QB selected at 2 and the QB selected at 12. Our own Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly was selected 14th: -
NFL Network "Path to the Draft" - QB matchmaker

I wasn't saying they would go to SB Nation for info.....meant the quotes from Rudolph's interview and his stats. I disagree on the range, but that is fine. -

I am glad Beane is the Bills GM by the way. I think McDermott and Beane have the philosophy that it comes down to a team, and not one player, which is why I think they stay at 12 and keep the picks. So many awesome talents in the first 70 picks and the Bills roster is full of holes and needs an upgrade across the board. I personally think that Mason Rudolph has the potential to be as good as the perceived top 4 QBs in the draft. I personally think that there isn't as much of a difference between them. The media and "experts" hype them up, but the real NFL guys see the truth. I like Rudolph as the Bills QB, while I respect that others do not. Here is an article that has lots of Rudolph comments and data that I think McDermott and Beane would appreciate. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2018/3/3/17073246/mason-rudolph-draft-oklahoma-state-qb-2018 -

Clever, but I would take Mason Rudolph at 12......... cue the "glad you are not the Bills GM". -
If they stay at 12, I think its between Allen and Rudolph if both are there. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-path-to-the-draft/0ap3000000922123/QB-matchmaker-Finding-team-fits-for-draft-s-top-prospects

Rumor: Trade up discussion with Giants
PIZ replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope this makes people realize how much it would really cost to go to #2. Seeing it in black and white is mind boggling. To think some people thought we could package our #12, and one pick from each round to go to #2. Now we are looking at the possibility of multiple 1st round picks and multiple picks overall. I still would stay at 12 and keep the picks UNLESS you are 99% sure this guy is a franchise QB. If there is any hesitation in that, then stay put and keep the picks. -

This may not be real, but THIS is about what it would take to move up to #2. I'm not sure what people were expecting. THIS is the reason why I think we should stay at 12, keep the picks, and take someone like Mason Rudolph. People were being unrealistic thinking we wouldn't have to give up much to move to #2. I should add though, that I trust Beane. If he trades up to #2, and gives the Giants something like ICB is noting, then I will trust that Beane did not think any QB he could get at 12 has the chance to be a franchise QB. -

Just watched some videos on Jackson. He reminds me of Randall Cunningham. Do we really need to trade up for a QB? -
Thought on this thinking?

Signed.

Are you a Bills optimist or pessimist?

Optimist since McBeane. Pessimist before. -
The Bills aren't showing they're desperate for a QB
PIZ replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure if I would be happy or not. I love having all of those draft picks, and the Bills have so many holes, and need new talent. Best case scenario is they take Mason Rudolph at 12 or any QB, and they hit on that QB, without having to give up so many draft picks. If they stay at 12 and pick a QB, I trust that Bean is not reaching. I believe they will only trade up for a QB if they think that they cannot get a potential starting QB at 12. Beane loves those picks as much as I do. -

Look at this roster and you tell me if we can afford to do what the Jets did and give away a boat load of picks for 1 guy. I say stay at 12 and take a QB like Mason Rudolph. -

Lots of people praising the Jets for doing the opposite, but what the Jets did was out of desperation, reckless, and stupid. Trading up 40 + days before the draft, is stupid. Beane and company are doing it the way you need to do it. Patience. The Jets move has "ownership involvement" written all over it to me. -
Awesome read. Thanks for posting. So, if we don't trade up, then it's because the price was too high or they didn't think any of the guys were worth trading up for. I honestly think when it's all said and done, that McDermott and Beane are going to target Mason Rudolph. It's not what many on here want to hear, but he fits their idea of a QB. You'll start hearing about Rudolph's stock rising, even though it's always been high with the NFL guys. Wouldn't surprise me if the Bills move up a little to get him.

Chargers, Giants, Steelers meet with Rudolph. Bucky Brooks said Rudolph had a great pro day. http://www.nfl.com/labs/rr/pathtothedraft/rudolph

No idea either. I like your mock. Still allows us to fill lots of holes.

1. Browns - Sam Darnold QB 2. NYG - Saquan Barkley RB 3. Jets - Josh Allen QB 4. Browns - Quenton Nelson OG 5. Broncos - Bradley Chubb DE 6. Colts - (trade to Bills) Bills get Josh Rosen. Could happen and they wouldn't have to give up the farm.

Tremaine Edmunds*, OLB, Virginia Tech thoughts?
PIZ replied to Pirate Angel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Take him at 12 and use 22 and 2nd to trade up for a QB like Rudolph or Jackson. -

That would fit what I think of Beane. Trade up to 12 to get everyone to think you are moving up to 3, when the real target can be taken at 12. Who knows? Don't lose faith TBD. "Trust the Process" goes for us too.
