  1. Not saying your overall analysis is wrong by any means but the injury derailed everything so it’s tough to assign full blame for the thought process behind the signing imo. We were likely a top flight pass rusher away and with the start he had it was looking like Von was gonna be just that. I can see why beane pulled the trigger on it, heck if we beat out the rams for that midseason von trade the year before yea it would’ve lost us some resources long term but I think there’s a very good chance it would’ve been us holding the trophy. If anything I think beanes biggest regret is not grabbing him sooner. He was a beast for LA in that superbowl run
  2. That’s without a doubt a little too high for them at minimum because the ESPN score is absolutely ridiculous haha but I think Thuney/Humphrey and to a lesser extent Smith cancel out the bad tackles and get them ranked pretty high in metrics like this. it’s easier to see what’s not working well but Humphrey and Thuney are probably the best pass blockers at their position in the league and Trey smith is definitely good too. I don’t dig into kc a ton despite watching the games but I wonder if some of the issue is Reid scheming up plays that don’t give his tackles a lot of help. Most teams with a weak link or two on the OL do a lot to help at least one of those guys out. Usually when it’s noticeable I’ll see a maxx Crosby type just destroying them coming off the edge one on one.
  3. Aliens have lost a step
  4. This probably works both ways…you shouldn’t assume the receivers are bad/mediocre just because of stats either … there are just so many guys to throw the ball to on this team that are a threat to do something with it which is likely exactly what frustrated Diggs in the first place lol not trying to say anyone is right or wrong but individual stats aren’t super meaningful for this group…you’ve probably gotta dig into the film for each of these guys.. there’s only so many passing yards to go around and if this group really wasn’t cutting it teams would probably not be giving us these good rb/te matchups in the passing game we’ve been getting
  5. Yea it’s tough credit-wise when you’ve got a josh Allen type extending plays. Even on some of these extended plays it seems like the oline has things locked down though but then it all gets attributed to Josh the pass blocking I could see people saying Josh is making look a bit better than it is but the run blocking has been great
  6. He had a rough rams game so maybe this is a recent memory type thing working against him lol granted mostly everyone had a rough rams game 😂
  7. That was a really interesting kick, relying on the kicker to time up a hit perfectly. I wonder if it’s common for teams not to have their best hands guys in that spot
  8. Yea I think it was a mix of both…he missed some throws but it could’ve come down partially to guys not bein exactly where he expected in extended play situations that third down play to force ot to a wide open Samuel looked like a straight up miss and that was a biggie…I’m sure there were others.. even with the tough coverage I’m sure he could’ve played better but I don’t think it was quite as bad as the stat sheet looked
  9. Levi Wallace/dane Jackson starting at corner against the peak offense chiefs is wild…idk why that doesn’t get talked about much. Chiefs lost mathieu eventually too which opened the floodgates for both teams. Sorensen was straight up a** lol I don’t know that I’ve seen a worse game from a safety
  10. That really felt like one of the more one sided officiating days I’ve seen. That late hold getting called on the shotput td was pretty clearly to extend the game
  11. That’s just how he walks 😂 Saul can correct me if I’m wrong but I feel like the last time this happened he looked noticeably hobbled in the games…he still won so nobody noticed maybe but I doubt he would go to that length for an incremental increase in personal glory 😂
  12. In a vacuum these dudes are crazy close statistically it’s honestly kind of freaky haha afc championship mahomes was definitely objectively better obviously. The next two games were crazy close. OT game pretty much the only statistical difference was the extra OT drive for mahomes. Last year mahomes was probably a little better on paper but that bills defense rolling with aj klein due to a crazy amount of LB injuries was probably a much easier path. I’m all for the ‘find a way to win’ attitude when you’re talkin about just playoff wins but if you’re comparing qb performances I feel like that sort of stuff is relevant Just cuz they win anyway doesn’t mean it isn’t affecting him to be fair. This year they built up a pretty decent cushion hanging on in those games so they’ve at least got the option to sit him should they want it.
  13. This touched on a few fun ongoing bills fans vs bills fans debates haha I think a mediocre qb would be terrible on either team personally. Josh is making the pass blocking look a lot better than it is, I think it’s ok but nothing particularly special. The run blocking has been pretty legit though but that’s pretty easy for a defense to load up against if the qb is just average its harder for mahomes to make the pass blocking look better than it is because the tackles are bad and the strength is in the interior. Teams just seem like they don’t have a whole lot of trouble collapsing the pocket while clogging up the middle of the field and limiting his options
  14. Ehh if that wildcard matchup is in doubt then they ain’t winning anything anyway. I’d trade potentially losing the team bye week 1 of the playoffs for three potential weeks off for mahomes and avoiding one of the ravens/bills if I was them assuming he’s actually got a legitimately serious injury. If it’s something that’s not gonna get worse then throw him in there Had to be a walkthrough right? I’m sure a bunch of people have said this already but I’m reading these in order so apologies in advance 😂
  15. playoff success is irrelevant because it’s a regular season award based on which team outperformed expectations the most. If it was in any way based on prior playoff success Reid and sirianni would be leading with the regular seasons they’re having this year. Im not saying mcd should win it by any means, but the nfl analysts all writing the bills off in the offseason should get him in the conversation at least seeing as they’re the people voting on the winner. I think they have taken a more ‘our bad the bills are actually really talented and we just screwed up while buying into the jets hype’ approach though it seems which is a bit of a cop out imo especially when they say we don’t have a lot of stars in the same breath lol. He is in it still, I just figured they’d rank him a little higher. I think he’s 6th right now in most of the sportsbooks. You can think Campbell is great I have absolutely no issue with that and he very well could be the best coach in the nfl. but once you’re perceived to have a great roster the path to coach of the year gets very very difficult independent of how good of a job you’re actually doing. You’re probably gonna lose it to someone with a worse record that turned around a bad team Lamar had a 1-3 playoff record 3td/5 int when he won his second mvp. It just really doesn’t seem to matter. a lot of this mcd can’t do anything right the bills should move on is very localized to half of bills fans. Maybe the group thinking that is 100% correct but in the short term we will be heavily mocked by the nfl world outside Buffalo if we fire mcd this offseason. The coach of the year voters are not seeing what you suggested
  16. He’s actually been really good since the 61 yarder…idk if being that close and on the right hash messed with his head in the lions game…it’s possible. If he much prefers the left hash being that close makes that an even bigger difference
  17. I really always thought they were bros but that offensive offside whining was really eye opening.
  18. That is irrelevant to coach of the year imo. Campbell straight up torpedoed his team in the nfc championship last year and just coached his team right out of a huge Super Bowl preview type game and he’s right up near the top. Andy Reid has had one of the most successful head coaching campaigns in history, his team has 1 loss, and he’s sitting at +1800 to win it. Sirianni has been to a Super Bowl and he’s sitting at +3500 seems like it’s more of a ‘most surprising regular season team’ award. O’Connell will likely get it. If the lions had the same results without the avalanche of injuries I don’t think Campbell would even be in the running despite the team being very successful.
  19. I am continuously puzzled that the bills were talked about as being in a quasi rebuild all offseason, were commonly picked as a team that will miss the playoffs but then they beat the best teams in each conference and have a shot at the 1 seed and mcd isn’t even in the top 6 for coach of the year betting odds? Seems pretty strange to me I would have no problem with O’Connell getting it or a few of the other guys being mentioned but mcd not even being in the picture is wild like others have said it does seem like you’re at a big disadvantage if your team performs well but were expected to, but we weren’t expected to 😂
  20. Yea it’s worth a shot vs Houston…if wentz looks really bad I’d probably panic a bit and rush him back. Close loss makes the decision really interesting if I’d rush him back for pit really a lot hinges on the Baltimore pit game this week. If pit finds a way to win that one idk if I’d even want to be the 1 seed 😂. Divisional against the ravens then likely afc champ against kc/buf (depending on who’s perspective you’re lookin from) seems like a tougher road to me. Sitting a dinged up mahomes seems worth it if it avoids Baltimore in round 2.
  21. If he plays through a high ankle sprain without sitting, everyone will say he’s battling through an injury if he loses in the playoffs and he would’ve won if healthy. So I don’t think you’re gonna get what you’re looking for regardless now 😂
  22. The Texans legitimately probably will 😂 I don’t put taking a cheap shot at mahomes past them at all
  23. I feel like their oline was a lot better back then. Chiefs current situation if mahomes is playing through even a mild injury the risk he hurts something else/aggravates it worse is pretty high. He’s not going 60 minutes without defenders getting near him anymore and the three defenses he’s seeing in a row could all do some damage texans seem pretty dirty too. Pit will hit him hard but I haven’t really noticed too much dirtiness from them
  24. I’d sit him this week…they probably have a good shot against Houston with wentz. And if that goes well you can probably sit him for the next 3 weeks if you want. if you drop one to Houston and panic a bit you can rush mahomes back against pit
  25. I don’t think they’re beating Texans or steelers with a noticeably injured mahomes playing either. If he’s completely healthy they’ll probably drop 1 i don’t think resting him and starting wentz for the first game to see what happens is a particularly bad move
