  1. Tough to say. FWIW, his accumulated value was higher than 30 of the 32 players taken in the second round (per Pro Football Reference). I take that with a huge grain of salt, but it’s something. I’d trade him for Claypool and Chinn right now. Other than that, I just don’t see much value there. I can totally understand how other teams would see it differently, as Clyde is a guy who uniquely fits what the Chiefs want to do on offense and may not have similar value to many other teams. That said, it’s a moot point as there is a 0% chance he would get shopped. He’s a huge part the team’s plans for 2021, so a theoretical 3rd or 4th round pick wouldn’t even be a consideration.
  2. CEH was a luxury pick for sure. He was drafted to take the offense to another level. He was productive with 1100 yards from scrimmage in 12 games before the injury, but nobody was confusing him for CMC to be sure. In retrospect, that was a really soft area of the draft, as no players taken shortly thereafter have shown much to this point. Chase Claypool who was taken 17 picks later at 49 is really the next player taken who I would swap him for today straight up. Picks 1-25 were wildly productive. It really fell off after that.
  3. Who is trading a mid round pick for him, and how can their stupidity be further exploited? If someone is willing to give up valuable draft capital in exchange for 2 years of a RB who’s likely out of the league after his rookie contract, I want to wheel and deal with that GM.
  4. I think Milano’s contract is going to make Edmunds very difficult to sign. $25,000,000 for 2 LBs who don’t rush the passer would be a tough pill to swallow.
  5. The Bengals should take Sewell, but they’re the Bengals so they won’t take Sewell. When it comes to LTs, you tend to get what you pay for. It’s common for several WRs from a single draft to have excellent careers. That’s not true of LTs, and this year doesn’t appear to be the exception. There’s Sewell and a bunch of guys who look more like RTs.
  6. Isn’t that the knock on pretty much every DT ever? It isn’t realistic for guys that size to go apeshit on every down.
  7. I’ve heard rumors that he isn’t the greatest guy off the field. That always makes me nervous when discussing QBs.
  8. Beane trades up to draft Paye or Oweh.
  9. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/redrafting-the-2020-nfl-draft-justin-herbert-picked-by-bengals-justin-jefferson-lands-with-lions/ CBS Sports has him as the second defensive player taken in a redraft, 7th overall.
  10. The Chiefs last season drafted or signed UDFAs players who will start this season at RT, CB, RB, LB, and P along with heavy rotational guys at DT and DE. They sign stars to big contracts and let solid but unspectacular players walk. It’s really not that complicated. Veach and Reid are willing to sacrifice their Matt Milano types because they believe they’ll find replacements for them late in the draft and let the superstars cover for any weaknesses their strategy creates. Hoping top teams eventually collapse under the weight of the salary cap is a failed strategy.
  11. The money is a non issue. The entire starting O Line for KC has a cap hit of under $15mm this season. Cutting Fisher and Schwartz created plenty of room. Remember, they were ready to pay Trent Williams well in excess of $20mm per season. I will never understand how Baltimore let Brown go for such a small return. 24 year olds who have made pro bowls at both tackle positions just don’t exist. Trading a unicorn to your biggest obstacle to shore up their one glaring weakness for a bag of magic beans borders on malpractice.
  12. You want to see better D picks? Check your PMs.
  13. Well hopefully they addressed the offensive line.
  14. Thats a great start. Thats a great start.
  15. 0 sacks allowed in 400 pass protection snaps. I think the Chiefs will be fine, but your concern is appreciated.
  16. Almost chance they trade up IMO. If they do, it’s going to be for a WR, but there are so many available in that area of the draft that there would have to be one they REALLY like in order to move up.
  17. Lost to injury, then cut. Brett Veach GMs like he’s playing Madden. After the defense cost the team a championship in 2018, he rolled with 8 new starters in 2019. After the OL did the same last season, he’s replaced all 5 including 2 Pro Bowlers (not counting Long). He’s the polar opposite of Beane which shows there’s more than one way to build a top tier roster. I still maintain that Beane needs to focus on players with superstar level upside even if it means he’s going to have some holes on the roster to work around. That doesn’t seem to be his M.O., though. He’s built a roster with no weak links, but it’s lacking superstars.
  18. Fifth year options don’t hold much value anymore. Stars demand extensions, and non-stars aren’t bargains at fifth year option prices. In the rare instance of needing another year to evaluate, franchise tags aren’t much higher and they come without the injury risk.
  19. Pioli loves himself some Pioli. Amazing how smart he wasn’t as soon as he left New England.
  20. That’d be an amazing draft, but I’d be shocked of any of your first 3 picks are actually available in those slots. If they are, I hope the Chiefs jump you 3 times.
  21. He’s got Rolando McClain written all over him.
  22. 1,100 yards of offense in 12 games as a rookie. Was pacing for around 1,000 rushing and 500 receiving before the injury. Beane should have been so lucky as to hit on a JAG in the past 2 seasons.
  23. TE is such a weird position. Gronk, Kelce, and Kittle were all day 3 picks. For whatever reason, it’s a really hard position to project. For a TE to be worth a top 10 pick, he’d have to be a top 5 guy in the league at minimum. I think he will, but there isn’t anything remotely resembling a guarantee of that.
  24. He’s absolutely worth it, but Beane would be talking to a dial tone as soon as he offered it. Even throwing in next year’s first wouldn’t get it done. It’s a bigger move than KC made to get Buffalo’s 10th pick. No GM would ever take Edmunds over a third rounder and next year’s first. Edmunds might be worth a third to the right team, so that leaves a lot of work left to be done.
  25. Didn’t that JAG run for close to 2 hundy in Buffalo?
