  1. The award itself is stupid, really.
  2. I think he got hurt against the Steelers and then he took several huge hits Sunday that made it worse.
  3. Neither AFC team had a 1000 yard receiver this year.
  4. This is a really good list, but I would move Herbert down to around 10.
  5. There's no such thing as "the best fans", but there are great fan bases, and the Bills are in that group for sure.
  6. The Patriots are probably a bad example to use if you're suggesting that winning championships doesn't increase the value of a franchise.
  7. Let me make sure I'm following you here. The Spanos family that moved the Chargers to Los Angeles is focused on winning over profits while the Pegulas, who have kept multiple teams in Buffalo, are in it for the cash grab. Is that about the gist of it?
  8. There's a lot of truth to this, but I don't think they expected him to become something more than he is. In fact, he's been much better than his draft position suggested. He's provided lowish WR2 production. In this league, that's probably $50+ million of value over his 4 year career. Meanwhile, he's earned $2 million total. Guys who out-perform their draft position and/or salary are extremely valuable even if they never develop into true difference makers. $48 million of surplus value is enormous in a league that is so salary cap driven.
  9. So the only good coaches the past several years are Andy Reid, Sean McVay, and whoever was coaching Brady?
  10. Didn't they just return a kickoff for a TD on week 18 that basically won the division? Those plays have a lot more to do with a good special teams coach than whether a kicker chokes or not, IMO.
  11. CB. Kansas City jumped them and took Trent McDuffie which then prompted Beane to trade up and grab Elam.
  12. And because of that, he likely has to trade up. Anyone behind him looking for a WR is a threat to jump the Bills similar to what happened in the 2022 draft.
  13. If you think Josh demonstrated good pocket awareness here, then you're right (about it being a waste of time). I guess Josh's trust for Dawkins means that he should elect to stand in the way of a dog-walking instead of the perfect pocket. I guess I'll let the results of the play speak for itself.
  14. He can't control his LT getting pushed, but he can make sure he's not standing directly in his path by availing himself of the perfect pocket.
  15. That's not accurate at all. He struggled at setting the edge as a full time DE. He regularly kicks out from DT to DE on passing downs and dominates. Having pocket awareness isn't QBing in fear. It's what the great ones do. He let his LT get pushed into his lap when there was a perfect pocket available. I don't understand why people are questioning which open receiver he chose instead of asking why he didn't step into the pocket.
  16. There isn't a tackle in the league who can consistently stone Chris Jones without help. And Dawkins, while good, is certainly not elite while Jones is first team all Pro.
  17. No it wouldn't have. He didn't have to wait until an all Pro pass rusher has pushed the LT into his lap to slide into the pocket. It was poor pocket management. Throwing it to Shakir was the correct play. Throwing it to Diggs would have also been a perfectly reasonable decision. Standing still while an elite pass rusher wrecks the play was the issue.
  18. This discussion completely misses the point. The decision was 100% correct. It was Josh's execution that was poor. Had he simply slid into the massive pocket to his right, that's a TD. As talented as he is, Josh still has room for improvement when it comes to the subtleties of QB play. There's no way Brady or Manning stands still and lets himself get bumped by his LT when there's a perfect pocket to be had.
  19. He’s 6 months younger than Kincaid.
  20. The last 2 times these teams have met in the playoffs, Buffalo is 6/7 on 4th down…so of course everyone complains about the one time it didn’t work even though the Chiefs didn’t score on the following drive. Meanwhile the Chiefs are 1/1 during that span. The Bills have had to pull out all the stops. They’ve done so, and it’s worked every time but once and even that time didn’t cost them yet people want to blame the losses on coaching.
  21. This reads like satire. The last time they met in the playoffs, Josh scored with 0:13 left. Is he supposed to literally hit a buzzer beater TD? If you have an open receiver for a 30 yard TD and a 4 point lead, you take it. He made the right decision, but he failed to move even slightly into a wide open pocket. Mahomes still may have scored, but that’s not on Josh.
  22. Josh had a massive pocket he should have stepped into on that play. He chose to stand still like his feet were nailed to the ground.
  23. This year should be a “rip the Bandaid” one, but I don’t know that McBeane have the job security to do it. They could eat all the bad contracts, suck for a season, and emerge with a high draft pick plus cap space. They won’t, but they should.
  24. The amount of disrespect Davis gets around here is staggering. He and Kincaid are both 24 years old. Davis is already 9th on the Bills all time list for TD receptions with 27. Kincaid has 2. Gabe has never had fewer than 6 in a season. The fact that he has done all of that while earning less than $6 million in his career is incredible value. When their careers are over, Davis will almost certainly have better numbers than DK. For some reason, everyone here thinks that Kincaid is the second coming and Gabe is a bum, though.
  25. You’re 100% correct, and you’re proving my point. Mahomes doesn’t deserve the MVP this year even though he’s a better player than Lamar. Lamar had the better regular season, and it’s a regular season award. Mahomes is much more willing to run in the postseason, and he’s an extremely effective runner. Lamar runs in the regular season. He deserves the award.
