  1. No. We didn’t even make it to the final four. A better backup QB would not have made the different last year. We could have saved some dollars and paid Hopkins and maybe we don’t lose a close game to the Chiefs? Who knows. All I know is that Josh Allen has been our QB for almost 7 years and we haven’t missed a Super Bowl because of his backup yet. Let me know when they join this millennium. Don’t forget to warn them about Y2K.
  2. Rousseau is going to be asking for $20M a year…. this year. It’s really just the only data I can find. I didn’t set the Probowl argument. I agree it’s not the best benchmark. Just FYI, based on that graph, two first round picks have hit, and one of them is Josh.
  3. 33% of players picked 21-30 make a ProBowl once. Beane is 0fer. Thanks for playing.
  4. It’s actually exactly my point. Footbal is a zero sum game. Any investment in backup QB is less investment elsewhere. focus on the player that helps us win the 3 point game in the playoffs, not the guy who is sitting on the bench.
  5. That list wouldn’t know. Tre White was prior to Beane’s time. Edmunds went to 2 ProBowls and Beane let him walk rather than pay him. Oliver never made a Pro Bowl Rousseau never made a Pro Bowl Elam never made a Pro Bowl Kincaid never made a Pro Bowl. Of the first and second round picks Beane has made since signing on as GM (which is 10 non-Josh picks since 2018), there are 3 ProBowls total, and 2 of them were by a guy who we let walk and doesn’t play here no mo. So yeah, that list is a who’s who of average, at best. They called that an “extremely good list” lol. I think that’s a bridge too far.
  6. There are way more jobs for QBs than there are good QB’s. How hard do you try to invest in a backup QB? A QB that you won’t even know is worth a damn til they step on the field, and that you are hoping they never do? ”Pure negligence” lol. Very funny to me that Bills fans watched a 17 year playoff drought without a single quality QB on the roster, now they are demanding we need two even though half the teams in the league have 0.
  7. Good list. Rousseau had a funny night. I’ve been hard on him needing to step up as a pass rusher and he put on a show last night. My only quibble is that I think he just did the same pass rush power move over and over and over? I have to rewatch but that’s what it looked like.
  8. ? This is a very average list outside of Josh.
  9. And this season I don’t think we are really title contenders, so if we miss the playoffs by a game or two because Josh gets hurt, oh well. There’s 2 facets to this argument: #1 There’s only a few specific scenarios where having a good backup QB in the wings is helpful. I.E. this very specific, Josh misses 2 games but we are on the cusp of missing the playoffs scenario. #2 the ROI on mid round or later picks on QB’s is atrocious. Spending a third or a 4th on a guy who ideally will never see the field, when you could alternatively spend that kind of investment on ANY OTHER POSITION to actually help Josh win a SB is ludicrous. It’s completely backwards. When Josh is on his last legs, sure, bring in some young talent with eyes on the future. When Josh is in his prime? I’d much rather see them draft a WR in the fourth over a backup freaking QB. We are fielding an offensive roster of backups in 2024 already, and we want to add more backups to the mix???
  10. Brock Purdy being anything at all is pure dumb luck. There’s no sense in trying to replicate such a scenario. It’s just as unlikely as a bum journeyman vet like Foles having an incredible 7 game stretch and winning a Super Bowl.
  11. Did we win the Super Bowl? Did we make the conference championship?
  12. Brother we can’t even draft WR’s to actually play. Now we wanna start investing actual assets to guys who won’t play?
  13. I think if we don’t make the playoffs by two games, we probably aren’t a real Super Bowl contender.
  14. Bills fans lived through an era where we couldn’t find a starting QB to play .500 ball. Now we are complaining we don’t have two of them lol
  15. We now are back to Mack Hollins as our best outside WR. And our only outside WR. Jake Kumerow, start stretching buddy.
  16. Might as well run the two headed wildcat with Warren and Najee
  17. You edited your post after I responded it lmao. We can all see
  18. @GunnerBill Fields stinks too, if you needed a reminder.
  19. We weren’t good enough to win a Super Bowl last year. Obviously. The Chiefs would’ve still made the playoffs in 2019. They would have still won the Super Bowl. You just proved my point PERFECTLY. Lol
  20. It’s actually round 2 most specifically I think. Zay Ford AJE Boogie hell, even Torrence and Cook felt like “safe” picks even though they were good moves. It feels like Beane goes for the big swing in round 1 then the safe pick round 2 to compensate?
  21. If Allen misses two games, the season shouldn’t be over, even if we lost both games. so what are we talking about? A very specific scenario where we are bad enough to be in danger of missing the playoffs if we lose an extra game or two, but where we are also good enough to win a Super Bowl? it makes zero sense. Backup QBs don’t matter
  22. Why would the Pats cut a kid they just drafted, at a position they don’t have filled, that has been playing well?? think these things through please lmao
  23. This year? 100% Maybe McD gets the rag tag crew to like 5-6 wins. Maaaybe.
