Have you heard of the salary cap lmao.

What's not talked about is that the NFL and NFLPA BOTH wanted the rookie pay scale in CBA negotiations 2011. The owners didn't want to negotiate with the Bradford's and Russell's of the world and pay them giant contracts before they stepped on the field, while the vets didn't want first rounders getting paid way more than them. The owners got the better of that negotiation as it turns out. Now, almost all of the newly drafted players are cheap options compared to the vets, which means you'd rather have a rookie 2nd or 3rd rounder compared to a $4M 26 year old solid player in both the long and short-term. And while a first round RB may be a lesser use of resources, it's still far better than paying a 27 y/o RB big money. Now the RB market is dead and has no chance of returning. It would have been better for the RB pay for the top flight college RB's like AP or Zeke or Gurley to get their money up front. You also make a GREAT point about RB's. These dudes cannot play other positions. Tiny guys like Singletary and Ekeler aren't choosing to be RB's instead of DB's or WR's, they are choosing RB's over not being in the NFL. And they are still making pretty good money.

The cap is a zero sum game. There's only so much money to go around. How can NFL fans sit here and know that QB's are the most important position and thus are paid the most % of the cap, while kickers/punters/backups are some of the least important and least paid, but not understand that every position (including RB) has to fall somewhere on that spectrum?

John from Victor has such a nice ring to it.

I don't think PFR includes those in their points per drive number. Looking at their PF total and adding ALL points from the 16 games does equal 455 (and I know Milano had a pick six in there somewhere). But when you divide 455/# of drives, you get 2.66, which is much higher than their listed 2.52. I don't know about productivity either man. 2021 scored more total points but they had an extra game too. I think the offenses were different philosophically. Recency bias aside, Josh went deep A LOT more in 2022 compared to the other years. 9.2 intended air yards in 2022 vs 8.2 in 21 and 8.3 in 20. That's gonna give you high variance when it comes to efficiency. Now, maybe we went deep more because Diggs was being bracketed and Gabe can't run short routes, and we've come full circle as to how bad this team missed their prime Cole Beasley and how much we really needed an upgrade at WR.

Got them all from PFR https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2022.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2021.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2020.htm Now to your point about SoS. I do think that the numbers support that the 2021 Bills had an easier schedule. And that would also potentially explain the offense looking "easier." But most of the numbers do suggest that the 2022 offense took a hit, efficiency-wise.

Man, I just do not agree. Compare the Bills to, say, themselves. Points per drive: 22 - 2.52 21 - 2.56 20 - 2.80 Percentage of drives ending in a score: 22- 45 21 - 45.2 20 - 49.4 Time per drive: 22 - 2:47 21 - 2:54 20 - 2:59 TO% 22 - 15.2 21 - 11.3 20 - 11.8 RZ% 22 - 60.3 21 - 62.4 20 - 61.8 Now, relative the league, they were of course not what I would consider a mess. But to my eye, it felt significantly more laborious to score and maintain drives to years past. And the numbers do bear that out.

They structured his deal intentionally so that they have an out in 2 years. Which makes his contract ripe for a restructure or just being flat out cut. Besides, DJ got drafted in the top 10 and Hopkins was the bottom of the first. Which is why he had a $20M head start. -

Starting to get on the Beane sucks train. Our lack of star impact players in rounds 1 and 2 and lack of receiving talent is actually becoming crippling. -
Truth hurts. Can't be drafting ninth Pro Bowl alternates in the top 10.

Drafting the 8th best DL in the 2019 draft at #9 overall continues to be less than impressive. This is the difference between us and the Bengals.

Playoff offense is just as much an issue as defense

A great coach can raise your floor. A great QB can raise your floor and ceiling. That’s how I’ve always seen it. -
Josh Allen is the most durable starting NFL QB

The offense went 3 and out twice when the Bengals went up 14-0. Talk about momentum. No one showed up to play. -

Ironic how? Through his first 5 years, Josh Allen started 76 games. Through his first 5 years, Cam Newton started 78 games. This point is bad and you should feel bad. -
Was Josh Allen arguably the best pick in Bills history as it relates to winning football games, yes or no?
