Combine that with a young QB with a recent history of true greatness, a more recent history of injury concerns and weirdness and #1 in the NFL contract demands, and eventually, decision-makers in the NFL said, "it's not worth that." Allen and Mahomes are not stupid. They could have both asked for what Lamar did. They may have gotten it, they may not have.
