What would you like to see added post June 1st?
FireChans replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Okay. this is gonna shock you, but the Ravens had TWO of the top 4 highest paid linebackers in coverage last year. The week after the Bills did. And Kelce went 11-for-11 for 116 and a TD. So McD with Klein actually did better than the 1st and 4th most expensive off ball linebackers lmao. And guess what? It ain’t because Klein is a better player. Protip: Being sure when you don’t watch the games is an easy way to be extremely wrong early and often -

Lmao “I don’t know but I’m sure.” Ignorance: the post. I have always thought the best attempt would be to do the Pats approach. They put Talib in press on Jimmy Graham when he was the second best TE in the league and erased him. Problem with guys like Kelce and Gronk is that they are not Jimmy Graham. And they can beat press. -
WR trade candidates, who do you want?

We still left some meat on the bone when it comes to Josh’s restructure fwiw. -
The Chargers will be in contention. Harbaugh is that dude. He doesn’t have staying power but they are a lock to be a WC team imo.
-
How much of that was inflated by our 9 sack performance of Washington early in the season? I know lots of great defenses feast on the bad teams, but I didn’t feel the Bills had a particularly strong pass rush last year compared to the rest of the league to my eye.

No no no. Tua walks and they start selling off assets like Michael Jackson and possibly get a real QB. Hill would get shipped out at the first sign of suckage and he may still conmand a late first. Chubb/Ramsey would probably get jettisoned too. The better option for Miami not being a threat is them to pay him big, they kick the restructuring can down the road to retain Waddle and other key pieces, and then even in 3-4 years when Hill is washed and Tua is a goner, they are Saints-lite and $80M over the cap. Total disaster class. There is nothing worse in the NFL than short-term spending as a contender when you aren’t and you don’t have a difference maker at QB.

Full marks. 10/10

It doesn’t matter to you. Maybe it doesn’t matter to Beane. But it doesn’t make him a WR lol. We all clowned the Chiefs WR group last year, because they were awful. They still had Kelce. Their WR’s still did suck. I will need to find the stat, but I believe we have spent the second lowest draft capital total on WR to the Bucs, but of course now I can’t find it lol.
-
See, you can argue that Beane has a different team-building philosophy. That he wants to focus more on TE’s and RB’s that are pass catching threats. What you CAN’T argue is that he has prioritized the WR position. The Bills are one of the lower teams in the league when it comes to WR investment. This is a fact. It is indisputable. Kincaid doesn’t “kinda count.” He’s a TE. Coleman isn’t “basically a first round pick.” He’s a second round pick.
-
Every posted defense of Beane not drafting enough WR’s always has Kincaid (TE) and a combo of Cook (RB) or Moss (RB) or Singletary (RB) to justify it.

Yeah but we’ll always have that week 4 of 2014 when the Pats got blown out by KC and their dynasty was officially dead.
-
And the city straddles the border. So really as close to a benign legal offense as possible
-
Isn’t marijuana decriminalized in Missouri? I’m all for bashing KC at any opportunity but this is a little absurd lol

Packers drafted 2 WR's and 2 TE's last offseason. They paired them with the 3 WR's they drafted the year prior. Of those 5 WR's, 4 of them have already had 500+ yard seasons, and all 4 did so during their rookie seasons. I get its not Madden, but it's not impossible to get these guys contributing. And guess what, the perfect time to let the rookies make mistakes is when you're in a take your medicine rebuilding year. I would prefer this strategy to the one this regime is currently undertaking.

We are trying to get 3 guys up to speed in Hamler, Claypool and MVS. Right now. Sure, it would be stretch to get 3 rookies ready for week 1. But what about by week 8? Week 12?

It’s because in football, alligator arms is already used for the TJ Grahams of the world who have to snap their arms like the jaws of an alligator to catch. -

The difference between Aiyuk and Sander is far greater than the difference between Purdy and Garropolo, imo. I don’t think Jimmy G - Purdy is the driving force between the difference in yards and TD’s. -

2019 WR group was so good, Beane tried to trade for Sanders and Diggs twice. -

For all the talk about scheme mattering over talent, let’s look at the Shanny scheme in particular. 2019 Niners passing offense 29th in att 13th in yards 10th in passing TD’s 2019 Niners receiving weapons: Deebo Kittle Emmanuel Sanders Kendrick Bourne Juszczyk 2023 Niners passing offense: 32nd in att 4th in yards 2nd in passing TD’s 2023 receiving weapons: Aiyuk Kittle Deebo Jennings CMC did Shanny become a much better coordinator over the last 4 seasons or MAYBE was having more elite talent actually the difference? -

The Venn Diagram of people who say, “there’s no chance we trade for a #1 WR” and the people who said, “there’s no chance Diggs gets traded,” is a circle. -
Schedule "Gauntlet" A Reality As Long As Bills Win Division

Bills will win the division again. With McD and a healthy Josh, it’s almost a certainty. Best QB by far in the division = winning the division most of the time. -

I just got a flashback of Edmunds closing his eyes and bending Dane Jackson in two a few years back.
