  1. He showed up for mini camp, he showed up for training camp, the hold in is language that is allowed in his contract. Look at what happened to Rashawn Slater for the Chargers-if Cook blows out his knee during camp he will lose out on ever getting paid. Whether you like it or not, Cook is honoring his contract, he’s not doing anything that breaks it
  2. If he plays and the Bills let him walk, they will get a 3rd round comp pick for him, but your feelings are hurt and you’ll take it whatever you can get for him. This is why fans don’t run teams Your military contract doesn’t have language in there that makes hold ins possible. It’s in the CBA that players are allowed to do this
  3. Well, no, it’s still a hold in…he’s in meetings, he’s watching film, he’s not getting fined for not being there…still a hold in
  4. Also, the Bills just re-signed a bunch of guys this offseason-Rousseau, Shakir, Benford, etc so how do we know those guys won’t cost the Bills any starters? Why is it only Cook whose contract will make it so the team can’t sign any other guys?
  5. For those of you who are upset with Cook's hold in, Rashawn Slater of the Chargers got taken off on a cart today and wasn't able to put weight on his leg. He just got paid - if this happened before he got that record breaking deal, there's a good/great chance he doesn't get that record breaking deal. Cook is taking a major risk by participating in training camp, that's why he isn't participating. You might not like it, but it's not the smartest business decision for him to fully participate
  6. You’re right, I meant to say most fans, which I get, most are fans of the team not of the players
  7. But that's the thing you're not getting - it's not a negative distraction. Like DrDawkenstein said, he's in the meetings, he is watching film, he's talking with his running backs coach, he's just not practicing. Just like the fans are always on the owners side, the players are always on the players side.
  8. Well he was, until he (god forbid) did something as awful as…asking to be paid
  9. It’s a player in a contract situation, they never win the court of public opinion. Just read through the Cook threads now-so many people diminishing his value, calling him selfish, overrated, etc
  10. You are really distorting things comparing Ty to Cook. Ty wasn’t going to get any more money than what he took here. They are not even remotely the same. Here’s the other thing-2 things can be true. Cook has done everything fans wanted him to do. He showed up for mini camp, he showed up to camp, he even did extra work during and after practices those early days. The world is not binary but that’s the only thinking you’re applying to this. Connie’s also in a position (that Johnson NEVER was) to get paid and he is doing things to try and get paid. What if Cook goes to practice and tears his ACL? He will never see that money. Guys can be about the team AND be looking at this from the business side, they’re not mutually exclusive.
  11. The devil you know vs. the devil you don’t people love the devil you don’t
  12. “No shade to Cook” then immediately throws shade at him 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
  13. The Bills will get more in a comp pick for Cook than they would for Etienne. You would be losing value AND paying more money
  14. You don’t have to feel sympathy, but realize it’s all relative. He is trying to make money compared to his contemporaries, just like we all do. If he takes less, then the next team tries to make their guy take less, and so on…remember, it’s not Cook’s (or any players) job to make the money for within the salary cap-that’s up to the front office, which is also full of guys who are paid a lot of money (hundreds of thousands to millions) to do their job well
  15. Dallas is going to want a lot more than what you offered. Epenesa had 6 sacks last year, the second round pick is presumably going to be a late 2, and Cook is great but a running back doesn’t have the value of a top 3 defensive end, who is also only 26. At the very least it’s going to cost multiple 1st round picks, and that’s just the start. AJ has no trade value, no team is jumping to get him, ima use Dallas wouldn’t even care if they got him in a deal. To get a prime time player, the Bills would have to make a prime time offer. Epenesa and a 2nd is not even remotely close to that
  16. You’re joking about your trade offer right? It’s important to me to know that you’re joking…Epenesa and a 2nd aren’t enticing in any trade, let alone for arguably the 3rd best pass rusher in the league
  17. The only concern for me is Bass because it’s a leg injury. Even then, they could pick up a kicker that can give them a lot of what Bass does. There’s still over a month until the first game, so while the list is long if there was a game probably 95% of those guys would be practicing and playing
  18. Because you’re clearly confused to what’s happening here since the situations aren’t even remotely the same. If you’re gonna go the extreme route, at least make an attempt to reference a similar situation
  19. Come on you know that’s not how it works around here-we don’t celebrate players coming back from injury, we only complain about players being injured! Get your head out of your ass man!! 😬
  20. Wait, he’s doing everything people wanted him to do. He showed up, he has practiced, he has been quiet…literally everything people have demanded of him. What do you now want him to do?!?!
  21. This is really small minded thinking
  22. Oh god, can you imagine the complaining people would’ve done around here during that time? Can’t pay them both, Bruce is a diva….so many opportunities missed!!
  23. Seems weak to me, especially the Jackson comment. But you do you. Hope he changes your mind Go Bills!
  24. Yeah but you’re bashing him for mistakes, but ignoring when he makes a play…seems like hate to me
