10/20/24 Game 7 GAMEDAY Bills vs Titans post game thread
Simon replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. I was watching the game outside and sipping a few with a bunch of hungover non-Bills fans so was staying low-key throughout the game until right then. I jumped out of my chair in the middle of that play and yelled "Spencer F'ing Brown!" out of nowhere and was laughing inappropriately loud while everybody else got real quiet and stared at me.- 319 replies

Last night, even with a compromised start and a bad angle, I saw Minkah Fitzpatrick run him down with no problem. I think the injuries have robbed Hall of some of his speed.
-
The gun isn't really a problem; he isn't going to hit anybody anyways....
-
He doesn't have to be a huge difference maker. He just has to not be Dorian WIlliams.
-
Patrick Queen lit him up on the return and he had a hard landing for a big man.

I laughed out loud when Queen lit him up on the return, but now I feel like a jerk

Why is Nobody Talking About Mahomes' Interceptions this Season?

You guys can't have expected this to happen instantly. Everything is too new for this to be operating smoothly right off the bat. Give it a month or so and if they're still struggling this much, then yeah, start thinking about dusting off the pitchforks. But for now, temper your expectations until they've had some time to work together in a new system.

Simon replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
He absolutely did. It was very well executed. -
Perhaps if you put more than 6 seconds of effort into starting a thread, you'd get more than 6 seconds of effort in response.

If I find myself still looking through this 15 minutes from now, you are in trouble.

10/14/24 Game 6 Bills at (NJ) Jets MNF Post Game thread
Simon replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
They still likely pick it up if Josh sticks with the play. It was a good call. -
I'm not saying he'll never make plays downfield. Those plays he does make will likely be because of his ball-tracking skills and his ability to overpower DBs on the move, they just won't necessarily lead to TDs as much as nice chunks. Although, he does occasionally put a move on a DB that leaves him stumbling enough that Cooper can plant him on the way by, so don't be surprised to see him running free because his defender is back near the LOS trying to figure out what the hell just happened.
-
He is not the deep threat he used to be. He has a lot of miles and muscle on him and you're not likely to see him running away from NFL DBs anymore. What he does still have is good quicks and a great understanding of the game. He understands leverage, how to set guys up, how to make different routes look similar and how to attack DB's at the line. He's an outstanding route-runner who gets open constantly at various depths and over almost the whole route tree. He can win outside more reliably than any other receiver on this roster and it's not particularly close. Last week when the Bills needed that first down to send the Houston game to OT, Amari Cooper gets it for you. He's also going to help the other pass-catchers on this roster by creating more space for them, because if you don't respect him he will make you a sorry sumbitch. Playing Kincaid over/under is now much, much harder. Bracketing Shakir on 3rd down is now a dubious proposition. Running a bunch of man coverages and attacking the Bills OL just became a recipe for self-destruction. So while you won't necessarily see him running free and hauling in bombs 60 yrds downfield, he will absolutely have a positive effect on the Bills offense at multiple depths. Plus it will be fun to watch him make people look stupid.

Well played We're here for you in your time of need, brother.

He averages 2 catches and 36 yrds/game in the playoffs, with 1 TD about every 3 games.
