50 constantly bitchy posts all night and now complaining about the QB who was the best player on the field for either team. -

It seemed like toward the end of last year, he started doing a much better job of playing with his head up. I want to give credit to Hyde and Poyer for having a positive effect on the one really troublesome part of his game. -

And that is what makes it fun... -

One of those weird situations where neither call is "wrong". 🤷♂️ I kind of thought that was the only one that was sort of legit. He tried to drive that throwing shoulder right into the turf, and I don't blame him. I did too but on a replay they showed later, it looked like it went about 8" forward.

I'm not giving up hope yet in case he's protecting a toe, but he is absolutely a half step short of the guy we've seen throughout his career.

Ray Davis looks MUCH better with a little bit of space to operate

I liked his decision making and thought it created a bunch of extra yards for him and kept this offense ahead of schedule. Combined with his effectiveness on first contact and that ability to buy extra yards at the end, it's a nice combination of traits; none of it flashes but it's really effective in keeping your offense moving. -

I'll have something to watch when the new 8 week old puppy get up raring to go at 3am -
He had really limited opportunities in the early part of this season, but actually was noticeable on more of them than you would expect. Since he's been getting more snaps lately (that's he's absolutely earned), he's been making even more good plays, several of them coming on key downs. They're not the kind of stuff that is going to show up on stat sheets, but he's been winning matchups that wreck plays and give other guys' opportunities, drawing penalties because he's beat somebody on a rep and made Von's suspension much less painful than it could be. Give that man some props for his work so far, cuz' cuz' has come to play.

So about the refs tonight UPDATE: Rams game discussion on page 14
Simon replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
You could tell early that they were looking to throw flags as fast as they could at any remote opportunity. It was the exact opposite of how a football game should be properly officiated. I hope they are going to get absolutely chewed out by the league office.- 357 replies

Hey, you're not the real Marcus Aurelius! -
He's been cursed with a lot of stacked lines all year and had minimal opportunity to plant a foot and go. As the primary back being able to get opportunities in a wider variety of down and distance, he got a lot more room to work with and really took advantage of it. Making good yards in narrow alleys was nice to see and he's a problem for people on first contact. He's not going to run away from anybody or terrify guys in the open field, but he might very well be a chain mover. Was that him who just wrecked somebody on a pickup mid/late 3rd qrtr or Ty Johnson? If the mental part of his game continues to improve, he's going to turn out have been a good pick; and that's coming from somebody who hates drafting RB's.

Oh, it's a total horror show. If it still looks like that in December, yeah it's time to make a move. But for now, they have to stick with him and find the right guy to coach him out of it. -

Great game; very entertaining. Refs are annoying overofficious jerks. Oh well. Way to scrap for the full 60 boys -
