Again you didn’t read my subsequent replies to understand what i meant by that but I’ll just say this - erika nardini getting hired a whole four years ago doesn’t wipe out barstool’s entire past. I get it, people like them. Including athletes like Eric Wood up there. I don’t mind if they make a serious bid for the naming rights, and it isn’t like I am going to boycott if by some miracle they win them. But barstool has said and done some pretty nasty things to many people in the past. If you’re okay with it cool.

i get all that, and would just add this: she’s CEO. The tippy-top. I wish we would hear more from her and not so much from him. But if her role is backroom business deals and that’s it then I guess that’s fine. I am not supporting barstool either way and they’ll never get their name on that stadium anyways so I suppose we’re spinning wheels here.

Is Portnoy still not the most visible face of the company, as its founder? Whenever Barstool makes the wider news, is it not Portnoy who’s quoted in those stories? ”tokenism” as i used it doesn’t mean I think Nardini is incompetent or unqualified. Not at all. I do think there were strategic motives beyond just her business acumen that Portnoy definitely considered.

tokenism exists. And it’s by no fault of Nardini’s, but Portnoy is the face of that company, always has been. So if the actual CEO takes a backseat to his antics, what would you call it. And Barstool has hired female staffers in recent years. Hasn’t always been like that though, so I’m hesitant to give Portnoy credit for “diversifying.”

10 pages in and I’m sorry if this has already been asked but - where does the OP get the idea that the other QBs in Allen’s class aren’t under pressure to improve or in a “make or break” situation (which is BS anyways, none of them are.) Did the OP scour the message boards of CLE, NYJ and BAL? Guys listening to sports radio in those markets and just KNOWS only Allen is the one feeling the pressure ? bull see this is why I hate these threads by these posters - they’re preemptive excuse threads. Certain groups of Allen lovers just feel the need to preemptively hedge expectations and push blame, just so we know and understand hey - if anything goes wrong this season it ain’t joshy’s fault. Allen doesn’t need that. Stop babying the guy. He’s doing fine. He’s here for this year and the next two calm the frak down.

I have no problem with him opting out - I see problems with his timing of doing it especially when he was on camera complaining Thursday night. Boston fans are ruthless and the narrative is already forming that he’s just soft. The fact that they won with Halak today isn’t helping his cause either.

all good points - I’d say the jets line wasn’t terrible for his whole tenure there though. We’ll see. If they signed Winters for depth after Feliciano got hurt I get it of course. I’m just not as quick to dismiss Ford at RT as you are. of course. Winters is here for the short term I have no doubt about that.

That’s a good point on the injuries but come week 1 i’m just saying i’d be surprised if winters and spain aren’t the starting guards. Anytime Winters hasn’t been hurt he’s started right? I’m advocating for another chance for Ford at RT. I don’t want him languishing on the bench.
