What Giants fans are saying about our Buffalo Bills
DCofNC replied to Wayne Arnold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eli could Shred this secondary, he was dropping dimes against Dallas and NO Im not kidding. He was playing well, that O is going to be solid this year. The D, this far a joke. Depends on which Bills team gets on the bus. -
I remember a year starting off 5-1 with all the wins over joke teams and barely scraping by.. Trent Edwards was the bext Joe Montana and the Bills were a sexy team in the Power Rankings.. then reality hit.

Sean McDermott won't tip hand on Bills' RB situation
DCofNC replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All I know is Singletary needs more touches. He took a ton of snaps, barely touched the ball and accounted for almost 100 yards. Daboll needs to adjust something there. -
Josh Allen's Adjusted stats for week 1
DCofNC replied to wiley16350's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reason the run game popped was not having Gore run into the back of his linemen. Singletary came in and bounced to gaps, which I have to believe were not the schemed ones based on the arm which he was carrying it in. -

Thats a great story, I had no idea where he came from. Good on him. -
Rookies you wanted to draft update...
DCofNC replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was all about Hock and pissed Detroit took him, was not and still am not sold on Oliver. What I really wasn't expecting is for them to let so many WRs go by, then Singletary, seemingly out of left field. That made zero sense to me, I think Beane was done with Shady and just never said it, signing Gore, Yeldon and then spending a pick on Singletary screamed it. I was high on Hollywood and had some fasination with Hakeem Butler / Harry, so far Hollywood started with a bang, tough to say how it will all play out in the end though. Not surprised to see Fant struggling early, he never blocked, the NFL requires it. I was high on Knox, really glad we nabbed him, hope he can live upto his physical abilities, he could be an absolute steal. -
Will Patriots release Antonio Brown?
DCofNC replied to BrycePaup4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to reports later, I'm not sure that is a accurate. The way it was exllained is he got a 1 Million guarantee at signing and weekly roster bonuses that total 9 million in guaranteed money as long as he is on the roster. With extra bonuses on top for performance that could take it to 15M. Theres a HUGE difference between what was originally reported, as Sportrac has it a d the later explaination of it. Being that he's a known trouble maker, I find it hard to believe BB wouldn't structure the contract accordingly. If he didn't, awesome, but i have my doubts. -

The thing is, it's not better for the player. This is similar to a franchise tag, except if the team activates it, the player cannot refuse to sign it and try to force a long term deal. They are under contract, period. They now have no leverage to negotiate a long term deal for more money at all, there is nobody to bid against the team that owns their rights, no possibility of movement. No player looking for a real "prove it" deal is going to give up their rights to free agency and let the team control their future, its a horrible deal for them. Players are after guaranteed money, the more, the better. Getting stuck to a one year deal is not in their best interests. This is exactly why players hate the franchise tag, they get stuck with one year of guarantees and absolutely nothing beyond that. If they get hurt, the team decides their too old, etc. They are out on their ass with nothing. In a long term deal, you get paid money upfront in exchange for giving up your rights to movement. In exchange for the upfront portion, the team has you locked down to the deal at the current market value until the end of the contract, usually both sides feel pretty good about it. The team is the only one who wins in a one year deal, their risk is minimized and they get all the benefit, even moreso with a team option, if they want out, boom its over, if they want the player they have the power to keep them at a minimum risk again, player takes all the risk. Its stupid for a player to agree to it, which makes Brown taking less than shocking, but his agent must have pulled the wool over his eyes in an attempt to get paid himself. -

DCofNC replied to BrycePaup4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because the power is given soley to the team in this arrangement, only a desperate player would accept those terms. In this case, if The Pats want to keep him they guaranteed his rights to themselves by offering 20M, BUT its unlikely they would want to pay that much to him bc market value is going to be lower, so they can either keep him at slightly above market for a year or leverage the fact he can't go anywhere to force him to take a short term deal for reasonable money. No sane player would give up their rights like that. Being foolish/desperate for "guaranteed" money, which he didn't get, by the way, led to this. -

They didn't guarantee *****. 1 Million at signing and the rest is set up as game by game checks, if he is on the team he gets paid, otherwise he's out on his ass. -
Jordan Poyer / Antonio Brown vendetta twice a year...
DCofNC replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh i hope the opportunity presents itself for a free run on that douchbag... preferably by Poyer, but I think Oliver would be more fun on a nice bubble screen.. flat out destruction. -
Whats funny is the team he torched for 150 in a half was Kansas City and nobody could figure out why we didnt feed him the ball in the 2nd... now he puts up 175 with KC in the 1st half and doesnt break 200 yards.. crazy. He had one helluva game, but a 2nd half player he is not.

Diabolical Daboll - Is he our evil genius?
DCofNC replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought the first half play calls where borderline insane, not because they were all passes, but they were not all that successful. Running into the strengths of the D w Gore made no sense either. Singletary obviously hit holes that he wasn't scheduled for, unless he hasbt been coached to have the ball in the right hand, which I doubt. -
I felt the personnel choices were far too conservative and the tendency of playing not to lose vs playing to win came back late. A first dow. On the final drive guaranteed the win, didn't bother even trying to get one. Singletary off the field and run right up the gut, I hated that. It was nice they appear to be letting Allen take charge a bit, DiMarco got way too much feature action for my liking. I was hoping to see more use of the dynamic playmakers. Its week one, lets see where it goes.

I'm a little lost how 17.5 YPR is poor, but ok. Guy is on pace for 1100+ yards on 64 carries lol.

John Brown, 7 Catches, 123 yards, TD. Good stuff.
DCofNC replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, thats spot on. Brown has been streaky for his career, hopefully in a more featured roll he is a little more consistent. Beasley looked bad yesterday, caused the pick 6, got hit in the head with the ball, got next to nothing fir yac bc he chose to fall down instead of run. I saw the lack of yac in the preseason and thought it might be preservation, I hope its not a sign of whats to come, if so, McKenzie needs to take his spot and he needs to be sent packing. -

He was impressive, good adjustment to the ball on the TD and got through PI to catch it too. He had a good game, hope to see more of the same. -
First Half wasn't as awful as everyone is saying
DCofNC replied to mjt328's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The win counts, but I am not saying this was a good game, when it was clearly a horrible performance from both offenses. I guess we could give the credit to the Bills O for actually scoring 25 points because Allen threw the touchdown to Mosley and Gore scored the safety, am I doing better now? -

DCofNC replied to mjt328's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, its that what you said is not hownthe real world works. You don't get to choose what you like, either you score or you don't. Moving the balls for 600 yards is nothing if you don't score. Call it "flukie" or whatever you want, but they coughed up the ball and couldn't finish. They managed 17 points for a whole game. That is what LOSES most games. Just because the Jets sucked more, doesn't mean you have a "great offense". -

Great offenses score points, losers move the ball and dont get anything from it. -

So by the OP's logic, the plays you don't like, dont count. Makes sense to me! I guess the fact that 0 points went on the board doesn't matter at all. -
I saw him get some penetration, just didn't see him finishing plays, looked like he couldn't get off the blocks a lot if times. I have been looking back at the game and I see more if what he was doing in retrospect. Pretty good game, especially for the first one out of the gates. He certainly caused Darnold some headaches, even if they dont go down as anything in the stat sheet. Shaq seemed to benefit from him quite a bit and that was nice to see, also liked when they put Shaq inside and let him rush the passer, that might be a better place for him. Use him more like a JJ Watt, outside on early downs, scoot him inside and let him use his quickness and inline skills to get after the passer on passing downs. The two of them inside on passing situations should be a nightmare for teams.
