  1. We have beat KC more decisively in the regular season when they won Super Bowls. Even if this is finally the time we can see we have passed them, why do you think it's the time we have passed everybody else? We are 1-2 against playoff level AFC teams and we have maybe two wins in our entire run since Allen came on vs actual playoff caliber teams. We blew teams outs for several years and you saw the end result. I don't see how we have some smoking gun that we have finally solved out issues (news flash, it's not coming in the regular season anyway) The 49ers are a below average team this year. None of this conversation is about that.
  2. We have one quality win that occurred on a 4th down play. I'm hopeful about our trajectory, but all the advanced stats don't align with your perspective. Nor does the eye test in my opinion. The trajectory is up, sure, but to think we are poised for more than previous years based on performance isn't accurate IMO.
  3. That’s fine Gunner. I respect you as a poster but we are just looking at this different. I measure this team on how deep they get, period. At the end of the day I don’t really care what the circumstances are. Life tends to not care about the “variables” and when you introduce them it turns into a never ending hypothetical. Nobody cares that I overcame X or Y to get to the place I’m at. Life isn’t about these nuances. Have we been the better franchise excluding the playoffs? Sure. We have been more consistent. Our floor is higher but so far there ceiling is higher and I would rather this mo fo be cathedral ceilings with how I look at this. They just have gotten way deeper. We did the whole champions of the decade in the 90’s. Would I trade it for one 2010‘s Eagles or 1990’s Giants/Redskins style Super Bowl? Hell ya I would. We already had won the round as the team of the decade and it’s hard to top the 90’s with that designation. My outlook at this point is pure results. That, we don’t really have. I’m hopeful on this iteration. We will see how it goes. If we don’t make the conference championship at this point I will keep feeling as I do. We need to accomplish more outside the regular season and early playoffs.
  4. Both are difficult match ups. Torn a bit. Lamar tends to shrink in the playoffs and you could say the Chargers are a team that historically comes unraveled but Harbaugh erases that image in my opinion. The playoffs will be difficult this year. No easy outs. We will need to be better, hopeful with how healthy the roster is getting.
  5. This conversation is not about hope Bills brother, it’s about a declaration that we have accomplished more than a franchise that has gone further much more often. I actually am optimistic at this time. I didn’t think a chance existed that I would feel this way about this season. But I am and I will always bleed with this team like all of us do. My only argument is WE NEED to do it, just really tired of these hypotheticals and rationalizations that try and place us in a class that we just haven’t reached. Do it.
  6. Just because I’m a Bills fan, doesn’t mean I cling to this notion that we have somehow arrived at where we need to be. We are in a virtually identical place as the last several years. All of which ended in a very abrupt way with expectations not even close to being met. Maybe it irks me a bit that so many are acting like we climbed that mountain when the reality is we still have a long way to go. Ultimately it’s probably just better leaving these opinions alone.
  7. How many wins past the wild card round for us 1, for them 6, how many championship game appearances 4 to our 1. It’s not close really, unless regular season championships in horrible division is your thing. That weak conference they belong to produced a Super Bowl champion over this time. Our strong division did what again? You keep bringing up all this strong AFC competition but the fact is our accomplishment are on the back of a weakest division in football and our playoff wins are against scrubs and third rate players. They have accomplished so much more it’s not even comparable. Only to Bills fans.
  8. Sorry I still champion logic vs fandom. Your choice if you want to use the land of hypotheticals vs what is actually happened. Yes or no, the 49ers have more high quality playoff wins than the Bills? Yes or no, the 49ers have more hardware than the Bills? Yet we have the more distinguished resume this decade. Again, only here results don't matter. We have accomplished the exact same as the Dallas Cowboys this decade. At least if you look at actual results.
  9. These takes are reasonable. I only engaged in this thread because the insane cockiness of some posters is just really off putting. The regular season has never been this teams issue but I guess we can stamp our ticket now that we beat KC? It was always about the postseason and we have done very little in the postseason. Far less than the 49ers. We have no basis to claim we are more accomplished unless it’s regular season accomplishments and to just shift the whole argument to, well, the NFC is bad. I don’t really think that’s close. I don’t think we beat the Lions and Packers back to back last year. They have accomplished more than us. But really, it doesn’t matter. They won those games. We didn’t. Only the teams that lose come up with these rationalizations. The winning ones don’t have to.
  10. Except we have never beaten a good team in the postseason and that includes more than KC. The team that we lost to outside KC lost to an NFC team in the Super Bowl. So I know it's really easy for you to assume we would just roll Baltimore last year or the Bengals after 13 seconds, but really, absolutely nothing in our history suggests that would happen. The 49ers beat two legitimate Super Bowl contenders last year to even get to the Super Bowl. They beat Rogers and a 13-3 Packers team the other time. But to you it's the equivalent of our wild card victories over 3rd string QB's. Let Buffalo actually earn it. You don't have to try and give it to them based on some massive hypothetical situation with so many assumptions it stops being logical.
  11. They have two NFC championships. It sort of ends with that unless you're in a fantasy. I gave you real stats of what has happened in the playoffs. I gave you real results. You gave me theories and hypotheticals. Maybe this is the year we don't exit again prior to accomplishing nothing. Hope so.
  12. I'm giving you the stats he has had in the playoffs vs both of us, which is about as one sided as it gets. They lead the Chiefs by more in both games than we ever have once. Keep plugging.
  13. The beatdown of Phillip Rivers? You mean the game we allowed a playoff record in victory for first downs and yards gained? Then that Baltimore game in a wind tunnel. That singular divisional win we have in the McD era really gets your engine going huh?
  14. Can you read numbers?
  15. No, the point is the Bills have had zero playoff success. They have two NFC championships. When they played Mahomes they played him much better than we did. They have accomplished more by any standard that people actually care about. Besides here, where all of our short comings get rationalized away by injuries, competition, or some other flavor of the month. Guess which one is us vs Mahomes in the playoffs and which one is the 49ers?
  16. Almost as impressive as our playoff resume of Skyler Thompson and Mason Rudolph. They led multiple times late in the 4th quarter and indisputably played Mahomes way more difficult in the postseason. How are so sure we would have beat the Packers and Lions last year? It’s hilarious the confidence level around here.
  17. They played KC as well as anybody, and better than we have. Compare Mahomes stats against us vs the 49ers. Eventually reality has to be about real things. I know, that’s not fun.
  18. Green Bay and Detroit could have rolled with anybody last year.
  19. So they get no credit for winning two games a year in the postseason that we never did? Bengals mixed in there as well right not just KC? I know. Injuries. They have done more than us. The idea that it’s laughable to compare them to our tandem who has done less, is in itself laughable.
  20. That RB was offensive player of the year last year. Two Super Bowls to our tandems zero. They made so many good draft picks and decisions that your call outs don’t even matter. I know we just won our first Super Bowl last week but some perspective is ok.
  21. Because Brady’s sterling history with the best college talent of all time and five minutes with the Panthers is the stuff your tell your kids about. All of them ride Allen jock. To separate by how much is silly
  22. 1. Daboll- He had Allen on point. He also benefited from being in an era where teams had less tape on Josh. It's so much harder for Allen to get to the sidelines now vs his first few years. Coordinators know that is when he is the most dangerous. Creativity in play structure we haven't really seen since. I thought he did a good job. 2. Brady- Seems to really understand Josh. He is doing everything possible to keep Allen in the plays structure and keep us on schedule. Lot of short passing and commitment to the run. Some hate the small ball, but I feel like focusing on points in the lane is the best way to harness what Josh can do for us. 3. Dorsey- The anti Brady, tried putting a jet engine in a corvette. All three pointers. This led to some pretty crazy output at times but really brought out the variance on offense. I don't see his system as being consistent enough in results. It's very hard to rate McD or anybody on defense for that matter because you know McD his hands all over it. So a nod to Babich is nod to growth with McD as well IMO. 1. Babich- We have done more with less, switched schemes more. If he got a handle on the run defense I was going to be happy which he largely seems to have done. As bad as some of the first half's have been, the 2nd half adjustments have been money. 2. McD- He's our head coach. I don't want him as a defensive coordinator. 3. Frazier - We seemed to be the least aggressive, most two shelled, most bend but don't break in this stretch. Again, not sure how much of that is Frazier or McD but McD seemed to be fairly aggressive in blitz packages last year.
  23. The relevant question is pants on or off Love that play and epic call
  24. Well that’s interesting, I know Gridiron very well. They’re fantastic. Can’t say enough about them really.
