Doubtful that Cam is dressing on gameday. So I'd expect Neal to still be the backup to Taron. Can't look at the depth chart in such a boxed way. Same can be said about backup WR, Cooks role on offense, etc. There will certainly be multiple formations/looks that will dictate playtime over depth chart.

Random rumor, if this was substantiated by a reliable source...then sure. Otherwise, it's foolish to trade our best goalline/short yardage/pass protecting back. Motor deservedly is RB1, but he needs spelled, and heaven forbid an injury.... Couple that with Motors last yr under contract, and we at least have a future option if Motor prices himself out of our future plans at RB.

Just listened to the press conference (Beane/Coach), and a few immediate thoughts: 1. This is as about the toughest press conference that either will endure, Coach had it even tougher Friday night. Not an easy thing to sit there and handle this. 2. That said, I'm used to hearing more "conviction" from Beane, about roster decisions and such. Just my opinion, and admittedly it would be difficult for all, but it just didn't sound like he was fully 100% behind his own words. Not saying he didn't agree or ultimately decide to release Araiza, just felt like certain parts of that interview displayed less confidence in his decision than I'm used to hearing (but again, see #1 point and I can understand). 3. Deciding now VS July, to cut Matt: this might have been the part of the press conference I'm leaving most confused with. Beane said the "boulders" were known in July, but the case obviously had not been filed yet. So when asked what changed between then and now, best he could offer was that it was an "allegation" then and an actual civily suit now. Which is true. But something clearly changed their mind on how to move forward, and it couldn't have been just that a civil suit was filed (Bills and Araiza knew that was coming down the pike). Was it public/media pressure, some detail in the Civil suit, distraction they saw forthcoming for the season, etc (or maybe a mix of some/all of the above). Bottom line, they don't have all the info yet, and Beane did say they were using as much time as possible to collect more information, so can respect that. Ultimately, I think both have tried to "do the right thing" for Matt, victim, organization and fans. They didn't want to be, and are not, the judge/jury over this situation. But they came to a decision that will likely benefit the organization, Matt (giving him a chance to focus on this and not face additional scrutiny at games, until this is potentially resolved), and the fans/public opinion. I was initially all for keeping Matt on the team, until more info came forth, but the magnitude and impact was very clear on Friday night/Coach's interview. Hopefully, the victim can find justice. And if Matt is innocent, he can as well.

Matt Araiza accused of rape, served with a lawsuit.

Honestly, it could be as simple as they sat back down with Matt after receiving the "actual 11 page" civil suit allegation and began to ask him specifics. Perhaps they got a feeling he wasn't being truthful, perhaps his story was changing from before, but at the end of the day...Beane and McD had to make a decision RIGHT NOW. It's unfortunate, because it's always better to let more info come out but they got as much info as possible to this juncture and were at a crossroads. Very serious allegation and if they weren't 100% convinced (again as of now), that he was innocent then they needed to move on. As far as the team getting past this, I'm not concerned. Each new day will now be a focus on week 1, not Matt Araiza, and we have great leaders in the locker room and coaches, where a situation like this could blow up for another team...I think we can "find a way" and move past it, we have great team camaraderie. Finding a punter, I'm optimistic that we will at least be better than Matt Haack from a yr ago...lots of current options and potential cuts. That to me is good enough, for an explosive offense. -

Your last sentence, that's a systemic societal problem. People need to be capable of waiting for all the info to be released, and realize there are multiple sides to this story....so stop rushing to judgment! It's OK not to feel like you have to immediately put your opinion out there.... Even here, likely going to be alot of ppl back tracking (one way or the other), if they are trying to solve this case & decide what the Bills should do, from behind their keyboard. -

Settle down turbo....you are acting as if "you know 100% that Matt Araiza" did rape her/that her accusations are true. People are trying to politely tell you, let more information come forth. Not saying to disregard the accusation, but also it's just as bad to play judge/jury without having the information from all parties (this is a major societal problem as well). It's not the Bills problem that people want to "judge" and jump to conclusions so soon (not even 24 hours since this news really broke). Yes its a business decision by the team, but nobody should be pushing any resolution until more info is released/ppl in the know have all details -

Bills would not have said they conducted, past tense, if they just found out. These private investigations/fact finding missions are not rushed and would take more time. I think you're off base, assuming the Bills just found out in the last day or so. Maybe about the civil case officially being brought forth, but not the underlying accusation. -

I could care less about it being Araiza, or the water boy. It's about doing the right thing for the individual, let more info come out -

Seriously chill out....people can pass judgment without consequences too much nowadays. Let more info come out. If he is proven guilty, then Yes get rid of him and hopefully justice is served. Until then, absolutely zero reason to make rash decisions -

Welcome to the world of "quick to judge". Not defending Matt, if he is guilty, but people need to be more patient and let all info come forward. -

Key wording/quote. from accusers lawyer: saying multiple organizations, including Buffalo Bills, have known and denied this for months. Like others have said, it is highly likely the Bills knew of this, at least prior to today and prior to release of Matt Haack. They must feel confident Araiza is innocent. -
Yes, that was my point. Tre on PUP equates to an extra roster spot (ie: keep Lewis), without Tre on PUP I think we move somone.

Agree it was a major whiff. Thankfully Beane and staff have been very very good at getting talent accumulated outside round 2. We all should call a spade a spade, Ford was a "positional need" pick at the time, trying to find our next RT. Turned out to be a horrible selection. He struggled with pass pro in college, and many talent evaluators had him pegged as an IOL. All around, it just didn't work out, which happens for every NFL team/GM. Making matters worse, we passed on talented/all-pro WRs that we could have also used at the time, but so did 29 other NFL teams. Getting a 5th round pick in return though, is interesting. Cards might view him as a fringe starter on their line. Beane gets credit for salvaging something, like many say. Overall, I still like our OL heading into this yr, compared to LY, along with Kromers ability to "coach them up". Not expecting a top 10 line, but likely in the 12-15 range. Marginal improvement, coupled with a more balanced attack and playcalling, will be enough.

Secondary is loaded. It's either Tre starting the yr on PUP/IR, or we likely are moving someone.
-
Still trying to figure out how we manage to keep 11 guys in the secondary, when historically it's been 9: Hyde, Poyer, Tre, Taron, Dane, Elam, Benford, Neal, Johnson, Hamlin, and Lewis. I want to see us keep all 11, don't see it happening though. With Lewis cross training at S, wonder if that points to: 1. Either promoting his trade value OR 2. Johnson (last yr on contract) or Hamlin (I think better long term than Johnson) is maybe on the move
-
Must like Doyle or Hart's ability to kick inside at G. Ford looked improved, but is not the athletic type that Kromer and the running scheme are changing to.

Agree completely. I think Hodgins has to show some solid S/T ability, or whoever is our WR5/6. I think it will be close, but would put my money on Jake being cut. -

Some connected to the organization, said Dorsey would be more "multiple" than Daboll. Already seeing it and liking the results, with so many formational groupings and using all our skill guys. -

Agree, delicate balance for sure. However, I think Bass puts it in the endzone anytime he wants. Preseason, and 13 seconds (sorry), is the time to give looks on how the coverage unit looks. -

Did @Chicagobills get in on this again? Hope so, I was tempted but held off. The took the over (45.5 by the time I felt the urge).
