  1. Agree on above. But this happens to teams every year, happened to us LY as well. We just haven't seen this offense get into prolonged ruts like this before. A quarter maybe, perhaps a half. But multiple games in a row, that's inexcusable. And we shouldn't be relying on the defense as much as we needed to. They bailed us out of Giants game, kept us close in Jax game, but ran out of gas today. Even with everyone healthy, we aren't going anywhere when we play offense like past few weeks.
  2. No designed runs, other than Qb sneaks, is fine by me. It's the scrambling drill type plays, where he's "hesitating" IMO-to either run or pass. My biggest issue is our offense has turned into a dink/dunk scheme. Or trying too hard to attack with the run game. We need to let Josh get his deep drops/allow the downfield routes to develop. Just because a defense plays cover 2 against us, doesn't me we have to get rid of it under 3 seconds. It's actually more beneficial to stretch the zone, but we've been more concerned with quick passing game/staying on schedule. Yet we've been in more 3rd and long situations this season.
  3. More realistically, I'd like to see Harty/Shakir/Sherf used more. If teams continue playing cover 2 OR press on Gabe...it basically neutralizes Davis completely. Like many said, Beane made his choices on building the WR room and certainly looks unwise right now (at WR2). Our lack of using slot options is also frustrating, either Dorsey/execution. Possible we make a big trade, but unlikely IMO. With holes at CB, WLB, 1 tech DT, and safety play declining. This team is built, defensively, to be playing ahead/passing defense. Maybe a better WR2 helps in alot of ways, but I'm not sure it's that or playcalling/Josh decisions, or all above
  4. Was thinking the same. He probably had the RB, coming out of backfield, and was late to his drop. Coach looked frustrated, like he was anticipating that and someone messed up their assignment. Both safeties were giving help to the corners, seems like Bernard screwed up
  5. Exactly. We left him 1-1 and gave our safety help to Dane/Benford at the end today. He's still a great nickle, but our corner play has been average at best.
  6. Our defense is SLOW and not physical. Especially when missing Milano, Tre, Jones and Ed. Micah still has a little juice left. But this secondary is running on fumes in general; Taron is our best player as of now and still isn't reliable to win 1-1 consistently. Not to mention, our offense lost its "mojo". We are trying to become a ball control/balanced attack; this just isn't going to work when we need 10+ play drives.
  7. This is embarrassing. Hopefully some true reflection after this
  8. Need to stay aggressive on offense, ok running a little...but we need Josh/passing game. Continue to say, we need Harty and Kincaid more involved. These are guys who can give us YAC/more big plays.
  9. McDermott and Dorsey, and all team leaders better get this team focused immediately to start the 2nd half. Alot of game to play, but we need a TD drive to get back into this. Then our defense to start imposing some more aggression/shedding blocks up front.
  10. Pathetic what this offense has turned into
  11. Our 2nd down playcalling/execution is killing thr offense. Too many 3rd and longs
  12. Can we ever boot/roll Josh out of pocket, misdirection runs, screens? Everything is "beat your man" right now. Could mix it up and need some big plays
  13. Kincaid or Shakir on a deep crosser... it's there against the cover 2 looks
  14. Our dline getting pushed around...need to step up the aggression
  15. Cover 2, dump it short Josh. Jeez, trying to split that and underthew it
  16. Get the offense playing with more urgency today!!! Need someone other than Stefon to step up in the passing game. LFG!
  17. Lions +3 Chargers +5.5 Dolphins +3 Bills -7.5
  18. Uche being out is HUGE, considering Judon already out. Henry, even if he plays, will be very limited with his ankle. Other teams dealing with key injuries helping to balance the deck past couple weeks.
  19. Yes. But not much info released on severity. Could be looking at a longer absence
  20. All this makes sense. My post was just to point out another "statistic" that would be interesting/helpful to use in comparisons, when assessing how bad our injury situation has been/impact on team. IMO, I don't think we're too conservative with injuries either. We have state of the art training facilities/top end staff, if anything we are ahead of the NFL curve in certain aspects. Just poor luck with some key guys.
  21. I'm not trying to sway anyone's opinion on this topic. But I think another metric is Cap space lost/missed. One thing to have backups miss games, but you need to "normalize"/adjust for the fact we are missing significantly paid players. I haven't looked at this metric for all teams, just for us right now: 1. Players on IR: $33.9m of our 2023 cap 2. Total 2023 team cap=$225m Thats 15% of our cap, practically flushed down the toilet this season. And that's just our IR guys, Tre/Milano/Jones. Would have to add in impacts of 4/17ths of Von, 1/17th Groot, 1/17th Ed, etc etc to get a true picture. So yes, man games lost is important. But who those players are/impact on cap is just as if not more important perspective to consider. 1 more example just on IR, Baltimore Ravens: from 2021, when they got really snake bit - 48.5m IR of 182.8m total (26%). They finished the year 8-9, Lamar had a down year and missed 4 games too. It would be interesting if any advanced stats on "missed cap" stats were compiled. https://x.com/agetzenberg/status/1715396746061156530?s=20 Interesting development perhaps on Ed. Coach ruled him out this week but didn't say he'd miss practice. So perhaps just encouraging for the TNF TB game.
  22. Agree, not the worst. But missing 4 starters on defense, Inc both Dts is never good. But there could be worse opponents than NE. Will be interesting hoe we handle P/S callups and other roster moves this weekend. 1 DT and 1 RB: likely using our 2 callups from P/S will be Vickers and Johnson But, with Elam and Lewis not at 100%, we might want Ingram ready (which would be his final call up anyhow). I think it's very possible Klein is cut and Ingram takes his spot on the 53
  23. Ed, Quentin, and Damien all OUT this week, per Coach on WGR. With a short week until TB game, hopefully Ed can make a return.
  24. Good news is it doesn't look like he's wearing a brace/support. When he had an AC joint (left shoulder) before, he did wear a brace for 1-2 weeks IIRC. Possible no AC joint sprain (or very minor/grade 1 tops), which would be great news.
