  1. Am I the only one that thinks it would be cool if the Fed-Ex Air Player of the Week (Allen) was facing off against the Fed-Ex Ground Player of the Week (Murray)?
  2. That's been talked about ad nauseum on the radio down here. Their bye was initially week 11. They were supposed to play the Jest week 10, which depending on their record, was believed that be either Fitz's last or Tua's first start - then the bye and then the Jest again week 12 which would absolutely be Tua's first start. I understand getting him a couple of snaps and then the "new" bye week to prepare but I don't understand them making the switch when they are 1 game out of a playoff spot.
  3. Actually if he played every 1st and 2nd down that would be 50% So depending on down and distance - meaning running situations yes he would be in there and playing a little more than half of the snaps.
  4. Makes no sense to me. They are 3-3 and their next 3 are Rams, Cardinals and Chargers. If they are going to make the switch they should do it after that stretch, if they out of the playoffs and let him start against Denver. That way he'll have that start and then starts against Jets and Bengals before facing the Chiefs, Pats, Raiders and Bills.
  5. Star was a hug factor in making those guys better, Edmunds free to run to the ball and defending the run. Oh and Shaq - through 5 games? 1 sack 3 solo tackles. Phillips after 6 games has 2 sacks and 9 solo tackles. Phillips is roughly on the same pace he was last year. Shaq - half of the amount of sacks and not even half of the solo tackles. Living in SoFla I can guarantee you the conversation has come up repeatedly - why did they pay Lawson what they did and how did Buffalo get so much out of him last year. Star? He's missed!!
  6. The guards aren't good and the center of the D-line misses Star BADLY!!! That being said Edmunds was a pro bowl level player last year at 21 years old - a little early to pack it in on young guy who is just entering his 3rd season. No Reid wasn't cutting the Bills a break and not running up the score because he's a nice guy and Belichek never did that either. As for Epenesa - he's young with no rookie camp, no mini camps, no preseason games and limited training camp but he's not "small". He's 6'6" 260 lbs - the top 5 DEs in sacks so far this season are Garrett 6'4" 270lbs, Graham 6'2" 265lbs, Ogbah 6'4" 275lbs, Ngakoue 6'2" 245lbs and Hendrickson 6'4" 270lbs. That's an average of 6'3" 265lbs. Epenesa isn't small - he's about average
  7. With all of the injuries to the CBs I wonder if the Bills might kick the tires on Trumaine Johnson. Tramon Williams is available too but he's up there in age. At guard Warford is still out there. Not and injury but with Star being out and how poor they have been against the run (hope people appreciate what he brings to the defensive line now) I wouldn't mind them taking a look at Dareus either as a space eater.
  8. His prime was years were years 4 through 8 and he still had a 79 TD to 52 INT ratio
  9. Thank you for the thoughtful reply - not only because I agree with you fully but also because I'm old like you and remember his playing days clearly. Additionally, Irvin, Harper, Novacek, Smith, Johnston, Williams... all great pass catchers!! They caught just about everything and dropped few.
  10. Now people are seeing why Star is so valuable. As to why they look bigger it's simple. The person standing always looks bigger than the person on their back.
  11. I wanted to offer an observation about Allen and Aikman. I'm sorry in advance but it exactly what I was thinking last evening while watching the game and was wondering if others thought this too. Yes, early in the game Aikman talked about Allen's pro day lauding how strong Allen's arm is but later Aikman said, paraphrasing, you can't teach accuracy and Allen isn't and won't be accurate. That was coming out of the mouth of a HOF QB that played 12 seasons and in only half of those did he have a completion percentage above 60%. Not in any of those 12 did he have a season above 70%. Allen right now, after two stinkers, one in the rain (rather in a mostly dome like the one Aikman spent all of his home games in) is at 67.1% which still beats Aikman's second best season of 65.3% and only slightly trails Aikman's 1993 season in which he completed 69.1% of his passes. Additionally, in the last two games Allen completed 63.4% (Tenn) and 51.9% (KC) of his passes. In Aikman's 1993 season he had back to back games in weeks 6 and 7 of 60% completed and 47.4% completed. That season also happened to be Aikman's 5th year in the league and the season in which he completed 69.1%. Through his first three years Aikman averaged 58.6% completed while throwing 31 TDs vs 38 interceptions. If we add in his rushing TDs it's 34 total TDs vs 38 picks. Allen in his first 3 years to date? 58.7% completed, 46 passing TDs vs 25 interceptions. Again, if we add in his rushing TDs it's 66 total TDs to 25 picks. Oh and one more note over his first three seasons Aiken played in and started started 38 games - Allen has played in 34 and started 33 so far. I could breakdown the first 16 games of each vs the second 16 games of each but I don't think that's necessary and it would be only uglier for Aikman. So for Aikman a HOF QB to dismiss Allen at this point of his career and say he'll never be accurate when the trajectory and timeline Allen is on so far surpasses his own seems absurd to me. One more note - I'd love to ask Aikman how come when Allen missed a throw it was about his accuracy issues but when Mahomes missed one it was because the ball is slippery and it's tough to throw in the weather?
  12. I was just going by how they have them listed on the depth chart. Zimmer and Cox aren't even on it yet. I find it hard to believe the UFDA the Bills signed out of Ferris State 4 years ago and cut 4 years ago, signed to the Saints and cut from the Saints after get signed to Montreal's practice squad before getting activated for their last game of the season 3 years ago, signed and waived by the Falcons 2 years ago, signed by the Browns and cut a year ago and then signed again by the Bills in August to be cut in September then added to the PS is suddenly going to be the answer in the middle.
  13. So the Left side is going to be Johnson and Epenesa while the Right will be Hughes, Addison and Cox Jr? Then Butler backed up by Zimmer - he all of 6'3" 290 with 4 career tackles? Through in Milano being out and I don't see how Kelce and Edwards-Helaire or going to have a field day while Mahomes will be able to relax. Yikes!!!
  14. Let me start with I'm not for trading anything to the Jets for Bell! However, let's say hypothetically the Jets would take a conditional 6th or 7th round pick for him. The Bills could add him or the season at the cost of $5.84 million and leave the Jets with a dead cap hit of around $12 million. The way his contract is structured Buffalo could then trade him or release him in the offseason with next to no cap hit. Again I'm not advocating for this but if it happened not only could the Bill screw the Jets but they could get a solid second back who would want nothing more than to stick it to Gase.
  15. I didn't want to look ahead but I couldn't help it. I peeked. The last time the Bills started 5-0 was 1991 and they beat the Fins, Steelers, Jets, Bucs and Bears while averaging 32 points per game. The current addition of the Bills is averaging 31 points per game. The 1991 Bills lost in week 6 to drop to 5-1. They lost on Monday night to the Kansas City Chiefs 33-6 Ironic the Bills, with a win tonight will be 5-0 just like that 1991 team and facing the Chiefs on a Monday night in week 6.
  16. He played 41 snaps on offense so far. That's roughly 18% Also that's up significantly from last year when he took only 68 snaps or roughly 7% of the offensive snaps on the season. Over his 6 games last year and 3 this year he hasn't carried the ball once and been targeted with a pass only 6 times. So if's only 6 targets on 109 snaps and he is in the game you can bet hard on he's in there to block on a running play.
  17. It's only game he's playing because he said he's going to skip the spring season - his last two years and enter the draft. I don't blame him. Lots of hype for a guy who completed 50% of his passes, averaged 5 ypa, tossed 2 TDs and 1 Int plus took 3 sacks against the Central Arkansas Bears
  18. I did a little more digging on the Titans percentage of snaps week 1 and the compared it to the projected starters above depth chart. Week 1 Tannehill - 100% Henry - 61% Brown - 66% Raymond - 22% Westbrook-Ikhine - 0% Smith - 73% Lewan - 86% Saffold - 100% Jones - 100% Davis - 100% Kelly - 100% Dickerson - 36% Jones - 61% Crawford - 22% Clowney - 80% Brown - 100% Evans - 22% Landry - 97% Butler - 95% Vaccaro - 100% Byard - 100% Joseph - 75% Again - while their O-line is intact - those receivers should be shut down making the Titans one dimensional on offense. If the Bills can get out to a big enough lead it could force Tennessee to abandon the run and put the game in the hands of Tannehill and what is for the most part and inexperienced WR group. Defensively their back half is solid but with some strong runs taking advantage of their front 3 mixed with a healthy dose of play action there is no reason the Bills can't eat clock.
  19. I have been monitoring the Titans transactions and while they activated Isaiah Wilson, DaQuan Jones and Beau Brinkley they still have 8 on the COVID list. I can't imagine they would be playing tomorrow if they haven't been activated and practiced as of today. So their depth chart looks something like QB - Tannehill, Logan Woodside RB - Henry, Evans, McNichols WR - AJ Brown Q (he had a full practice yesterday) WR - Kalif Raymond WR - Nick Westbrook-Ikhine TE - Jonnu Smith, Anthony Firkser, Geoff Swaim LT - Taylor Lewan Q (he was limited in practice yesterday with a shoulder injury), Ty Sambrailo LG - Rodger Saffold III, Daniel Munyer C - Ben Jones, Aaron Brewer RG - Nate Davis, Jamil Douglas RT - Dennis Kelly, Isaiah Wilson LDE - Matt Dickerson NT - DaQuan Jones, Isaiah Mack RDE - Jack Crawford, Larrell Murchison WLB - Clowney, Vic Beasley Jr LILB - Jayon Brown, David Long JR. RILB - Rashaan Evans, Will Compton, Nick Dzubnar SLB - Harlod Landry III, Derick Roberson LCB - Malcolm Butler, Tye Smith, Chris Milton SS - Kevin Vaccaro, Joshua Kalu FS - Kevin Byard, Amani Hooker RCB - Johnathan Joseph, Chris Jackson That's 20 on offense and 23 on defense plus their 3 regular special teams players. 46 total from their normal 53 - yes they brought some players up from the Practice Squad. More importantly looking at this "depth chart" should the Bills tee-off on Henry and the run game? That's only 3 WRs from the 53 that started the year and two of the were the 4th and 5th receivers on that 53 while Brown is returning from injury. Additionally, do you think the Bills should use a healthy dose of Singletary and Moss seeing the Titans are down to basically 1 LDE? Or would you think that the Titan's pass rush will struggle allowing Allen time to survey the field and spread the ball around?
  20. Instead of practicing they will be forced to sit in their respective meeting rooms for one full day watching nothing the Robert Kraft "massage" tape on loop.
  21. I would think they would have to make up for Fox losing the Thursday game - that would mean either the 4:25 game opposite GB and TB - which is the only late game that day or perhaps Sunday night on Fox opposite NBC showing the Rams and San Fran
  22. I was told the game will be nationally broadcast at 7pm on CBS - has anyone else heard this or can anyone confirm that? Additionally, if they move the KC game to Sunday I was told it will be a late game. Does that mean TV?
  23. I doubt the League will move the Thursday game to Saturday. First they already sold that TV time and the sponsors would not be happy. Thursday Night Football is a big money maker for the league. Secondly, a Saturday game would be completely out of the question because they couldn't televise it. The Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961 exempts the NFL broadcasting rights from antitrust laws. That act forbids the NFL to broadcast games on Friday nights and Saturdays from the 2nd Friday in September through the 2nd Saturday in December. I can't figure out why some supposed football pundits even floated that idea. The only options would be a forfeit, moving the game to week 18 (which would most likely mean adding two weeks in between week 17 and the start of the wild card round) or having the Chiefs play the Bills on Sunday instead of the Raiders and the Titans face the Raiders on Thursday (which would be logistically next to impossible at this point. Looking at the options the most likely would seem to either make the Titans play on Sunday as scheduled with no practice ahead and the facility closed until that day or a forfeit, which I would hate to see.
